Variable rate mortgages are linked to the Bank of England’s base rate for interest not directly to inflation, currently at 0.5%. The bank’s rate is usually around 3-5% above this.

They are not tied to inflation. However the BoE may raise interest rates in an effort to kerb inflation.

There’s a use by date on the cruise missiles and the likes. Cheaper to use them in anger than to decommission them. So in some twisted way its probably saving the MOD money. 😉

My experience of Admiral multi car insurance:
Year 1 mucho cheapness for a two car policy.
Year 2 more expensive than insuring them individually, multi car cancelled.
