Got a funny feeling the EBay site being down is going to cost me money, I’ve got an item finishing later tonight and there won’t be any more bids if buyers can’t log in!

    You’ve bought a new bike?

Is it a green one? 😆

I was looking at the Super Six 105 and looks a brilliant bike but quite a racey geometry so am going to go for the Synapse Carbon 105 which is a bit more relaxed once I’ve saved up some pennies!
If I went for the Super Six I’d try and get one in the Cannondale colours and it looks really nice. The BTwin seems to get good reviews but the C’dale is a definitely a step up!

Yeh DezB had a look on there the other day, some good deals but need to save for a while yet and will need to get sized up beforehand.
Had a good chat with a sales guy in Alpine Bikes in Stockbridge Edinburgh and really impressed with the service they offer with the bike fit etc so might see if they’ll price match when the time comes.

Philby, those were some of the reasons I was thinking of going for the Synapse. The 2015 has the latest 11 speed 105 drivetrain was I was told is basically 2014 Ultegra with 105 on it and the frame is Di2 ready which makes it future proof.
The 2015 is also about £200 cheaper than last year’s model (RRPs) so will be about the same price if the old in my size was is in the sale.

I do think it would sell easily if I discover that a road bike just isn’t for me, I’m tucking away any spare cash to get something after winter’s done as I’ll be using my hybrid for the colder months.

My mountain bike is a Canyon and as much as I like it I’d rather get a road bike I can sit on etc before buying as I’m sure the way it fits is far more important than on a mountain bike.

I have 2 Junair 50 litre compressors, if you’re interested they would need to be picked up in Edinburgh/ Central Scotland due to size weight.
Not sure on price but both very good condition quality pieces of kit.

Would love to see the return of Cadbury Spira and Cadbury Shots.
Always seemed popular but dissapeared off the face of the planet.

Just double checked the care instructions on the label and it doesn’t mention only using Graingers and the like, so if Gore question how the jacket’s been washed then they don’t have a leg to stand on.
I chose the Ecover stuff specfically due to it being non bio and very gentle with no junk in it, didn’t even consider that it could cause damage to the adhesive holding the taped seams.

Only wash it when it gets pretty dirty, starts to whiff a bit or needs the dwr improved then I only use non bio Ecover liquid after cleaning out the detergent drawer.
The jacket is active shell so can’t be reproofed as such but the dwr is supposed to be rejuvinated by tumble drying.

    Cheers for that.

I’ve had a look on the shop’s site to see which Gore jackets they have in stock and they only have the Contest 2.0 available which is far cheaper and different type of jacket so not sure they’ll be able to offer a suitable replacement.
We’ll see what happens but would struggle to get a similar jacket for the same money I paid as it was in the sale when I bought it.

6’4″ and I ride an XL Canyon Nerve XC8.0.

I’d spend the cash and get it repaired then trade it in for something newer/more reliable.
Might be worth getting quotes from other garages as that seems expensive, my XC70 D5 needed a turbo pipe (complicated engine with very inaccessible parts) just before Christmas and it wasn’t anywhere near that price!

They have more listed but slightly more expensive at £29.99 delivered.

Been looking for a pair in the sales as a spare pair, not my 1st choice colour wise but at that price was a no brainer.

I run Conti Mountain King 2.2 Protections on my Nerve which have been great, thinking of try Specialized Purgatory Grid next after so many folk have been raving about them on here.

I stayed here about 10 years ago. I was travelling to a village near Shepton Mallet from Scotland but the snow in the Mendips preventated me from reaching my destination.
It was nice, freindly staff and comfortable. Can’t remember the cost but will be on their website, couldn’t be more central in Wells too.

Intense Carbine 29er with a bit of extra bling!

Really really want! solely based on looks but bound to be mega to ride.

Well I think it looks ace especially after seeing it in the flesh(so to speak) and trust me it’s fast as ****.
The main problem is that once you get to a certain height bike frame aesthetics look all wrong , I know I’m 6’4″.

I bought a Charge Zester this year from Evans and loving it. Would definitely recommend it.

I altered my M785 XT triple chainset to a double and bash and kept the original triple front mech. I changed the shifter to 2X from 3X and altered the top limit screw on the mech.
It worked perfectly, no risk of over shifting onto the bash and no need to buy a double specific front mech.

    Win win.

I had the same issue last year, I have 2 pairs of standard Humvees (size large)and bought a pair of 3/4 Humvees and had to return them and go up a size to an XL which are still on the neat side.

I’m 6’4″ and use Endura Humvees which are baggy but not silly baggy.

As for jackets I’ve found that Gore Bikewear (Fusion and Path Neon) stuff fits me the best, long enough in the arms and body without being massive around the chest stomach.

Charge Zester, I’ve only had the chance to get out on it once but all seems good so far.
Only things added/changed so far are SKS Chromoplastic guards and a set of Niterider lights.

cheers guys, the temptation is to start blinging it up but keep reminding myself it’s for going to and from work.
Might order some ESI Extra Chunk grips as I love the on the full susser though.

however how do you remove part no5 – lever axle?

Looking at the diagram you need to remove parts 8 which are a cap and axle lever bolt.

My Canyon came with white Fox Float RL 120mm with the FiT damper, crown mounted lockout and 15mm axel. They are excellent forks, easy to set up and feel very plush. Seem to do exactly what they’re meant to do.
I’ve got them advertised for sale on here and E-Bay at the moment as when they were away at Mojo for warranty work I decided I fancied black forks and now seemed like as good a time as any to change.

If you’re interested give me a shout and I can e-mail you pics and details or check out the classifieds for pics prices etc.

    Cheers,

    Alan.

    It’s the 2012 M780 triple chainset.

    Same as one of these,

I am running a black triple XT chainset as a single ring setup. I fitted a Hope bashguard in place of the big ring and 32t Works Components thick/thin ring in the middle with nothing in the granny.

I think it look the mut’s nuts and didn’t have any issues with chainline etc.

My bike is in the bike shop getting new forks fitted but can post a picture once it’s back later in the week if someone else hasn’t done it before.

    Cheers jamiap,

I’m not sure drop bars are for me, basically I want similar geometry as a mountain bike, low rise or flat bars, wheels with 32mmish tyres and disc breaks.
My commute is over 13 miles each way and I want something faster than plugging along with my full susser but not a full road bike.

I think first off a trip into Evans in Edinburgh might be the best port of call, they might even have the correct size in store.

The width of the bars wouldn’t bother me as I’m a serial parts changer so will probably upgrade tham fairly quickly.

Oh and they are the RLT version as I would’ve been happy enough with the RLs which is an added bonus.

Will have a set of forks to sell next once these arrive 😀

Just ordered a set of Rebas through ALLtricks so many thanks to timb34 for spotting the white ones and posting the link.

The description of the lockout states on the tee which turns out is actually a crown mounted version, so managed to get them in black, 15mm axel, tapered steerer, 120mm travel and crown mounted lockout.

Exactly what I was after and all for £250 posted taking the exchange rate into account through Paypal. States 2 day delivery timescale on their site!

    One happy bunny.

    j40aja

    Alltricks seem to have them.

I’ve e-mailed them to get them to confirm what lock on the tee means, but looks good price wise even with 16.99 euro delivery!

I have white forks at the moment but really want to stealth the bike with black forks as it’s a black anodised frame!

    j40aja

Cheers timb34, those white Rebas look good if they are crown lockout. Looking at descriptions of other Reba they definitely say remote rather than crown or turnkey.

The reason I don’t want 1″1/8 and use a reducer if possible is if I change my frame and it’s taper then it’ll be easier and I like the feel of a stiffer front end. Why have forks with a 15mm axel and narrower steerer?

Changing the lockout from remote to crown did cross my mind but just seems like extra expensive, I might need to look into costs and availability to see if it’s a viable option.

    Cheers for that timidwheeler.

Once I get word back from Mojo and they have agreed that the fault (creaking clicking CSU/stantion/steerer)is a warranty repair then I’ll get onto Canyon for the initial postage, I kept the receipt for tracking purposes.

I called Mojo before sending them and also filled out the on-line service/warranty form and they said just to send them to them direct. I went with their advise otherwise Canyon would’ve been my first port of call.
