Spesh Stumpy. Only 130mm forks but could be upgraded later on.

the lbs' i spoke to would only do things at full retail price, no discount, in order to cover their profit margin

Bikes purchased via C2W are supposed to be sold at full RRP so discounting and sale prices are not allowed. Adding 10% seems ridiculous and I wouldn't give a shop my money if this was their practice.

Thanks trout. Interesting about the battery and resistor only arrangement. I think i'll be patient one more year. No point in potentially ruining a perfectly good working light. I may upgrade it after that.

Specialized armadillo range are some of the original anti puncture tyres and i consider them among the best if not the best of the lighter weight ones. I've tried gator skins which were crap and i'm currently on bontrager which are good but solid.

Very interesting. Nice job. I'd love to see a longer write up on this as i'm considering an upgrade myself. However, I was led to believe that the ay up's battery contained the proper driver circuitry. I this is the case Would this not conflict with the driver in the head unit.

I attached my Tesco light/my Fenix (at different times) using a velcro strap purchased from Ikea. Very effective and some packing round the torch body to angle gets the light where you want it.

All great info guys. Thanks. I've had a quick play with the podium and does seem user friendly. However, it has caused my model to fail a couple of time so far.
    I'll try the indigo next.

    Heres' my names:
    River Run = riverside
    Cliff top
Windmill (how old is that windmill BTW?)
1st Descent (unimaginative) = I'll call it rocky Rooty from now on.
    Poop Shoot
Puncture Alley (due to the drainage bars a friend ALWAYS punctures here)
    DH
    Mugdrop
    Castle Descent

Whats the name of the short trail that links the Drumclog path to the foot path that climbs to the bench (granny's bench)?

I have an old 1.7Ghz celeron with 512 Ram. Google flies for me compared to firefox. Loads up fast and runs fine (almost – browser based PDF's are atrocious) Computer is nearly dead though so I'm geeking up for a new one soon.

I also have the cree based ay up's. Supposedly the bin number of the cree's are able to put out up to 220 lumens per emitter. The 320 total output is dictated by the driver that is housed in the battery case. Tuned for brightness vs burn time vs heat management. I was hoping that they would bring out a battery/driver that would use the maximum output but the never did. I have considered making a replacement driver for the battery but i'm not too handy with electronics.

Do you have the fitness do both? Only 5 miles apart. Inners first with Make or Break/Cresta Run added in then drive (or follow the river path if no car) to GT: Do the red climb but include Zoom or bust then up to do spooky wood then follow blue and on to Redemption or Broon Troot to join the black to finish.
    If only one then Inners.

My HTC Hero came with a USB cable and USB adaptor plug, not seperate cables. Desire definitely rotates.

How many hours you you have between drop off and pick up?
I'd be thinking that if you finish early you'll be sitting around for quite a while. I you are in Glasgow why not take the opportunity to ride out to Loch Lomond via the West Highland Way. You can play in Mugdock for some slightly technical trails. This way you can head back to Glasgow as you wish then partake in some local drinking before a nice sleep while being driven home. 😀

I have never set off a camera, even doing 35mph past one on a road bike. I think they are set too high. I really can't see a 36 toothed big bike tyred doing the required speed to set one off.
Remote flash on the camera box.

IMHO Get a normal sized phone and wait for something like the Samsung Tablet. Basically a big screened (7") Galaxy S.

GF has the SGS. On spec Samsung Galaxy is THE best phone out there at the moment. Fastest processer (same as the iphone and a dedicated graphics chip IIRC). However, the HTC's Sense UI is much nicer to use. The SGS does feel a bit plasticy but it's not as flimsy as you would expect. Desire is a lot tougher feeling. The SGS's 4" screen is brilliant, clear and big which is very handy when typing but bad for portability.
If you can hold off a couple of months then the Desire HD or 2 is out but it will be pricey.
BTW my GF hates(hated) phones and technology in general but she wont let her SGS out of her site.
    all IMHO of course.

It is really bad isn't it. I expected it to be a reworking of The Abyss. Seems a very cheap production, i've seen better on syfy channel during the day. I don't think i'll watch it again and I'm a massive sci-fi geek.

Used it on soft shell with good results. I always steep mine in a basin with 40deg water for about 30mins. Never used it in a washing machine.

I did martial arts for 15 years from the age of 6. Format of the class was always warm up runnig or skipping/bouncing. Then on to dynamic stretches then 1-2 hours class/training then static stretching for 20-30 mins. It never differed.
I've always been fairly supple and had very few muscle injuries. I don't think any instructors really knew why it followed that format but they had been taught that way so they followed suit. Seems there was some logic in it after all.
On the flip side my dad was an keen runner covering about 60 – 80 miles a week. He never warmed up or stretched afterwards and was always pulling muscles, that may have been his age though. 😉

GT I drive is the closest I can understand.
My thoughts: Main swing arm (single pivot) begins swing then large pivot actuates in a forward and upwards direction resulting in a wheel path that is initially slightly backwards and up wards getting more vertical as the travel progresses.
    Ahhh. My brain hurts.

EDIT. I think the BB is mainframe mounted. The pivot would be to VPP (not Santa Cruz) and closer to maestro wheel path.

Some one please explain that rockriders 'N.E.U.F.' suspension. I'm usually pretty quick at understanding the basic advantages of suspension systems but that one is just wierd.

How big are those bearings? 😯

Lots of bikes are similar at that price.
Boardman is best value. The gensis Core is a bike aimed at slightly burlier riding so might suit you better.
Well done on the weight loss BTW.

    How does it ride?
I'd want a nice 65mm stem in place of the tiller. Great price though.

I don't think the OP is talking about stretching immediately before exercising, rather that a general stretching routine throughout the months of training will minimise future problems of tight muscles.
Stretching should not be done while your muscles are cold. You can stretch before exercising if you want but get a bit sweaty first.

Saw these photos. Never noticed the silver stem, that must be a mistake, just for the display. It just looks wrong. I'm quite tempted to ditch my Flyer for this.

Early Monarch shoxs had some sealing problems and not nearly as sensitive as fox. No experience just what I read. It will be interesting to see how there thermoplastic valve performs.

Sector has coil or solo air and standard motion control. Seems like a reasonable alternative to a Rev. I expect to see it on a lot of bikes, maybe even my own with a push/blackbox upgrade when its available.

Htc desire is a massive phone though, I'd not want to carry that around in my pocket, my HTC hero is big enough

Its actually not that much bigger in dimensions. 5mm at most and that is all screen.
GF just got a Samsung Galaxy S. OMG it is big and bright and enormously fast. Going back to my hero's screen is like going back to a standard numberpad phone but the SGS really is too big to pocket.
I still like my Sense UI better.
