KMC chains are great and shift much better than SRAM, IMHO.

+1 on Wideopen[/url]. Shame it’s not released more often but its one of the best and free. Beautiful images. often better than DIRT dare I say. 😯

Riding fixed is fine, the flatter the terrain then the less of a task but it is definitely nice being able to free wheel on the downs. I found that my reluctance to drag my brake all the way down steep hills resulted in me controlling the speed with my pedalling (naturally) resulting in strained tendons at my ankle and shin. Granted some training may alleviate this but it was damn sore after about 20 miles. This was on some steep downs however that you would normally be doing about 40mph just rolling.

    To headfirst …”all or nothing”
All you need is a cheap flourescent bulb on a timer. They take forever to brighten up. 🙂

For 500000 you could could get a hell of a lot more house. I wasn’t paying too much attention so didn’t catch if this was including the price of the land. I assume it isn’t as he already owned the house on the land.
I can see this being more successful as a modular office development or show room that could be moved between locations.
As long as he is happy eh?

Agree. It’s always been really slow. Cant fathom why nowadays. Granted I have an old box but new boxes dont feel any faster. V+ is a quicker by a very small amount but still clunky.

Thepurist – Is this still the intended UI/EPG?

    + 1 foxyrider.
I watched the BBC programme on Scotland forests on Sunday night and while Ian Stewarts Accent annoyed the hell out of me (super-scottish) it showed that intensive forestry using foreign trees does not result in a pleasant landscape.

Definitely think that Snowboarding and skiing have pushed the bounderies of their sport the most. Mtb has a similar attitude and approach but the conditions that the sport is undertaken allows unthinkable challenges to be possible.

Granted they aren’t exactly flowing as part of the slope but to even attempt such stuff. Nuts!
Snowboarding the near vertical cliff is just insane.

Properly insulate the house/room/yourself before trying to heat a space.

Wow. Not even that worn looking. Are you doing massive hucks on that SSCX? 🙂

Yep. My MC-poplock revs leak from there. Not when upside down but on full compression they hiss and oil come out with the air. Doesn’t affect the performance.
Find out the cost of a seal, I’m sure its just an o-ring, then decide if its worth the grief of going back to the seller.

Just cut some inner tube* and slide it over your leg and top of shoe.

*may cause excruciating pain as hair is pulled form your leg. larger inner tube preferable to stop numb feet. 🙂

Do you not need a glass cover over the Regina lens to seal the unit from water and dirt? the cutter pics of the lens looks like an open reflector to me. Can you post some pics of the finished article.

I am also a sweaty bar steward and found EVent was very breathable. I plan a EVent purchase sometime this winter.
Note to self: Must visit TK Maxx more often.

Definately interested in a how to but I might send them to you to get a good job done on them instead of the possible destruction I may cause.

Is the upgrade based on the proprietary Ayup battery and how is the light being controlled? Resistor or driver. If it the driver then where do you install the driver as I like the simplicity of the ayup package. In a previous post you linked to a combined LED & driver board, is this what you are using.

…Don’t get the On One clamp. The 29.8 one has a plastic bush that lasted about 6 weeks on mine before disintegrating

But the plastic bit makes it really easy to open and close the lever. Granted they tend to fall apart but I’ve always replaced it with some cut to size plastic. Old credit cards are quite good for this, infact better than the original. 🙂

Do you have the option of doing extra hours?
Take the 9-5 and make it known you are flexible to do the ‘odd’ bit of OT, working late, one day at the weekend….

    Giant Stonebreaker in pink/ blue

That was my first ‘mtb’ after my BMX (nameless/cant remember). although mine was pink and yellow, it was the 80’s. Used it more as a road bike. Did my first century on it. Took me 13 hours. 😆 😳

    Not my picture.

Gypsy Glen is a good and fast descent but not very technical.
Local favourite is the Descent off the Whangie, north of Glasgow.
Planning to get a lot more next year.

Once navigation starts use the volume rocker to make sure the ‘voice navigation’ volume is turned up.

…Reckon wear rate won’t be any worse because I think the chain is under less stress with smoother front shifting to closer ratios.

What is it that wears quicker? I can’t see any reason for the chain wearing quicker. So is it the thinner cogs of the cassette that were?

The guy was a total prat.
Finished article was a hotch-potch of mismatched finishes and colours. White windows and brown door? FTW.
Crap planing dept can make designs even worse.

I am 5.7 and I ride a bike with a similar length ETT. My advice would be based on the type of riding you intend to do. If you are riding across country then the medium will be fine with a short stem of around 50/65mm. If you are predominately steep DH orientated then you may appreciate the shorter TT small.
Best advice is to ride both and then decide.

That pic is of the Drumchapel BMX park beside the A82 near B&Q. I think the one you are talking about SC is the St Rollux or Stobhill park. There was a thread on hear a couple of months ago.

    Can’t comment on Napster.
I’ve been using Spotify since its wider release in the uk. Signed up for 6 months to the premium. Spotify is fully compatable with Ipod and Android via a proprietary app. I would consider its catalogue very good with the exception of the biggest bands; beatles, led zepplin, pink floyd and a few others but there are some alternatives to these via cover bands and version by the artist on there own ie Plant & Page for led zep stuff. spotify will also allow you to add your own stored collection to your playlists and will stream/download them your your PMP for upto 30days offline before you have to log in again.
Sonos now has nearly full compatability to Spotify.
Also, a big plus for me on premium was that spoify steams at 320Kb/sec, near CD quality. Lots of info on the website.

EXPOSURE'S NEW DAY TIME RIDING LIGHT!
For those where sunlight just isn't enough.

LOL. Please convince me that 1800 lumens is required for any type of riding.

shakes like crazy and gives a nice strobe effect

I read somewhere that if you remove the serrated teeth of the rubber mount then it becomes a lot more stable. Also, try a bit of double sided tape – did wonders for my two fish mount. Only lasts one wet ride though. 🙂

Orange customers will initially be restricted to only 2G connection on T-mobiles network and vice versa. So slow data if any. This may be expanded in the following year. Customers must opt roaming set up on their phones/contracts.
Also looking forward to HD call quality when it gets properly rolled out.

Do you have to wear sunglasses when riding with a light that bright? 😀

All of the above are good things to try.
Also be aware of how far you are 'reaching' for the brake lever. If you can still get enough power then move the lever reach point further in so that your levers are initially closer to the bar. Fatigue may be coming from hovering over the brake lever while it is too far out.
Also thick grips may not be the absolute solution. Better padded grips are what you may need. Most lock on designs use a solid core which reduce the amount of padding on offer for a given thickness/diameter.

Drive up the west coast via Loch Lomond and Glen Coe. Is your wife riding bikes with you? On the way up take the time to ride the West highland way and have your wife drive on. Either ride Rannoch Moor or the Devils stairs case and descent into Kinlochleven. from there stop in Oban or up to Fort William for a night. Continue on to Mallaig and the western Isles to experience some idyllic beaches. This could easily take up you 5 days but if you have some spare then head across country via the great glen and down the A9 stopping at Aviemore and Cairngorms.

In short Scotland could be broken up into Southern scotland, West coast(inc Western Isles), Central scotland (Perth-Inverness), Northern scotland and finally eastern coast.
Each of these areas would take at least a week to see only a fraction of what's on offer.

If you can decide a basic route/area that you are interested in the STW massiv' can really start to help you with specifics.

I was there 2 weeks ago. Rode the Beast and Tarw. Nice trails, some excessive pointless fireroad (IMHO) just to make up the kms.
We did Panmencho the day after CYB. Very nice trail but wear shin pads or long socks, the encroaching undergrowth is viscous. 😯
