Ah balls. I’ve just bought a pair of these. First ride with them today, they were superb. The best flat shoes I’ve come across. Fantastic grip and they kept my feet dry in the slop. Hope they last more than a few rides.

I’m from Porthcawl, so I don’t have local knowledge of Swansea tides/currents however it it’s anything like Porthcawl (20 miles along the coast), the long shore drift and rip tides are incredibly dangerous.
There’s a life boat station down at Mumbles (there was, been a while), there may be some other lifeguard huts.
Before going in alone, go and have a chat.

I’ve done this, you’ll need the Evo upgrade kit. I’m not sure the bearings are required

Absolutely gutted. That seasons clip is one of my all time favourites. What a guy. Feel bad for his Mum too.

What RockApe said. Where I live in Reading, it’s almost essential.
You don’t drink softened water, the cold water tap in the kitchen is straight from the mains.
The rest of the house has softened water and it makes such an enormous difference to the way soap works and limescale builds up.
I’ve got a Kinetico 2020c, expensive as a one off cost but lasts for years, so not so bad.
You can use block or pellet salt.
It uses water pressure to work, so no electricity required. Stay away from East Midlands Water ones, they screwed me over royally.

Right then you lot. I’ve been busting to do this for ages. I found a bmx track whilst out running. My daughter would love it. There’s an Evans around the corner. I’m 5’9″ ( I didn’t realise there was a top tube issue). Which bmx before work tomorrow?

The thing with going to flats from SPDs is you’ve got to go all in. If you go half arsed, you are going to feel insecure and will not stick with it. You’ve got to give it a few months to get really confident with them, although I took to it quite quickly and rode my first flats alps trip within about 8 weeks.
The biggest problem I had was foot placement, I’d find I was concentrating more on my feet not being quite straight on the pedals than where I was going, that’s passed now.

I rode toe-clips, then moved to SPDs in 2002ish. I moved to flats last May and have not looked back. It’s been great fun and I’m now more in tune with the bike, plus I’m sure I would have had some nasty offs if I hadn’t been able to dab instantly on a few occasions.
I went with Five Ten Freerider shoes as I read they had the best grip. They haven’t disapointed.
I read DMR vaults were the best pedals, so went with those when there was a deal on at Cycle Surgery.
They have a great big platform and the pins give loads of grip.

Some people say they don’t like the Freeriders as they have too much grip and they can’t move their feed but coming from an SPD background I felt this was a good thing.

Freeriders are crap for winter as they act like sponges, I’ve got a pair of Shimano AM7s for cold, wet rides. They work really well but don’t have the same level of grip. I’ll be going back to my freeriders should the trails dry out.

All the best with your venture, hope it works out as well for you as it did for me.

The headset on the 2012 Ariel 14x was an FSA Gravity XX. I googled that and came up with this page which has the dimensions. Wiggle
Hope that gets you on your way (Hope…geddit? haha)

Hi OP. Google “the hum”. It’s currently thought to be caused by waves making the earth vibrate like a bell

I’ve just ditched the SRAM Guide RSCs that came with my bike.
They let me down badly in the Alps when they were a week old.
I’ve bled them 3 times in the two months since and they were crap again on Saturday.
I just have no trust in them, have gone back to Shimano now.
It’s going to be a pain as I really like the matchmaker system.
I’ve ordered a MisMatch 1.2, that should help with the right hand side
but it’s the reverb/brake attachment on the left I’m going to miss most.

I bought some of the new Shimano AM7s for winter duties. They don’t have the same grip as the 5:10s but have better weather proofing.
I used to ride the old SPD AM45s, they were excellent, so thought I’d give the new AM7s a try.
So far so good.

I’m not a doctor. Sounds to me like “jumper’s knee”. I had this but at the top. Doc prescribed anti inflammatories. However the thing that fixed it was shockwave therapy. Basically ultrasound. Had it done here Optimum Performance Clinic

That’s just my experience. I’d advise a visit to a doctor and a good sports physio. It could be a muscle imbalance that thye can help you fix or maybe you just over did it

I had a 13 plate ST3. I now have a 15 plate facelift ST3. The difference in driving dynamics is night and day. Booting the old one was always rather too exciting. Especially when overtaking and crossing the crown of the road. The new one has no torque steer and doesn’t follow cambers. It just hooks up and goes. Mpg has gone from 28 in old one to 34 in this one.

Fitness wise. Lose weight. Try meal replacement shakes for breakfast and dinner with a proper 500 ish cal lunch. At 18st the weight should drop off as your resting calorie count will be high.

Obviously the best thing to do is change your lifestyle but it’s easier to do that when you are lighter so can run/cycle/swim without injuring yourself

You can make it easier by riding out of the center to the road. Turn left then ride through the village. Take the fire road. Then turn left back on yourself and up the hill. It’s a crap fire road climb but it’s easier to push/pedal and it’ll get you to the start of the black

Another option I’ve read about is to start at the top, then lower yourself down slowly to build up the muscle

How do you get hold of them, do you go via your LBS? I’m trying to get some advice on which parts I need to replace but they don’t respond to the “contact us” page. I’ve just replaced the torx bolts and bushings at the top of the linkage (£35). That’s stopped those bits coming undone all the time. However there’s still loads of play, it looks like it’s at the middle axle. I’m wondering if I just need a linkage axle and washer or yet more bushings or even a new main axle. I don’t really want to be forking out yet more cash for stuff I don’t need.

Advancevisioncare.co.uk did mine. They are not cheap. There are no gimmicks. You get what you pay for as they are very good. Don’t go cheap with a high street brand. Three of us went with this lot, no issues. Friends sister went high street and she has had issues with grittiness.

Hi toons. When I started I could trail manual but sit down wheelies got nowhere. Ryan gives daily exercises that get you from zero to one or two pedal strokes. Then the tips and tricks start. I went out last night to a local football pitch. The grass was a bit long so I got a bit frustrated. However as my confidence has been built up over the weeks I decided to give it a go on a long path. I managed to get into the float zone and balance left/right for well over ten pedal strokes.at will. As you can imagine I was delighted and couldn’t help let out a whoop.
I think the structure of the course with daily exercises really works and I’d wholeheartedly recommend it.

There are two types of lens, the cheaper ones have a narrower range of tint. Around the £80 mark you’ll get the wider range (masai for example), these are more suitable for MTB work. I’ve used them for everything including night riding.

Sounds like the top jockey wheel is too close to the cassette. Wind in the b screw. You may need a longer b screw. It’s a normal issue with expanders

The apple store will do it for around £50. I did mine myself and snapped the battery connector off the board (easily done apparently). Cost me £80 to get a non-apple repairer to fix it and it took 5 weeks. I’d recommend getting it done at the apple store. However you may be lucky.

I drive at 29.9mph when there is a police car going the same direction and speed.

How do you know?
