At Primary school, we used to get a paper poke of sherbet, on the way home, really showing my age now.

Whilst going through a farmer’s field, the farmer stopped us. We expecting a getoffmyland, but he asked if we could help him catch a cow and help deliver it’s calf.

For the next half-hour we chased the cow, with a huge calf delivery device.[ a big metal cradle with a jack on it ]. Good job for us, we never caught the cow.

Hi Jackass123456789, This information is what I remember from the consultant and physio, a bit long-winded, but:-

My dislocation was posterior [backward], and trapped the nerves/ligaments that operate fingers. Appartently the longer you leave the dislocation until it is put back in, the longer your arm takes to recover. Hence, forefinger and thumb, not working.

So, my idea of not calling the mountain rescue, was not a good one, especially when I later learned that they were training in the same area. Also, they said that they would like to rescue a living person for a change.

Anyhows, a 4 mile walk, then picked by wife in car, ended up in a 6 hour delay in reseting the shoulder.

The damage to nerves take approx 1mm per day to repair, and the length of your arm takes 18 months. Nicely, if you leave it too long it can stop ciculation in your arm and possibly result in amputation.

Hi E-A, today -15, merino liners, then sealskinz winter gloves, then cheapo ski-gloves. Result – still 2 out of 10 frozen fingers.

Nevermind, more physio/ ultrasound on shoulder this week, hopefully this will help circulation in fingers, at least I can use them now. After my first dislocation, I had the writing skills of an Elephant.

Link for a laugh is above. Just checked outside thermometer, -16,

Thanks for everyone’s comments. It is a piping hot radiator, in fact the biggest in the house. I think that it’s position is the problem. It is on the only wall in the room, that is internal, and next to a door that the kids like to be open.

So my options seem to be, move it or add another radiator at the other of the room.

Josh, Don’t let the price decrease get you down, enjoy life and see what the next 3 years bring.

I was in a similar position in late 90’s, sold a flat for about the same as we paid for it,[moved into a tied house], then watched house prices triple. I still regret not renting it out.

Hi, I went to CYB on Tuesday with Mrs Ivnickkate, and did the Dragon’s Back trail. The Beast follows the same route but has an extra 7km loop.

The CYB shop has a booklet of maps for North Wales mtb routes at £2.50.
At Mrs Ivnickkate pace, it took about 4 hours, but you could probably knock off 30mins.

There’s a big up/down fireroad section between Hermon and Gomez which had fantastic views, but had no technical parts to it. It looks as if you could miss this part out, if you stuggle for time.

Lots of nice bits, have fun.

p.s. car park £3 for a day ticket, showers £1 coin for 3 minutes.

Hi PP, Sorry for your loss. I don’t mean to be morbid, but is it a burial?, as you may be asked to hold a cord, for lowering the coffin. I used to be a gravedigger and as part of the job, attended quite a lot of funerals.

I will be up there, early tomorrow, but you could phone the Hub and leave your details.

The Prince of India, near the Bank of Scotland. I think you may have to watch for the price of their Indian beers though.

( beware, that grassy bit is very holey), you are not joking, a couple of years ago, 2 out 3 of us, fell there at the same time. I dislocated my shoulder, then my bike tried to drill it's way to centre of the Earth via my head.

I've known Mrs Muir for about 30 years, Once when going to help her move furniture at the house, she answered the door and spoke to my mate and I,….in German for the next 2 hours.

I was last at Loch Muick about 6 years ago, anyhow there was an unmanned Tourist info hut, which had a klix coffee machine. Just in case it's still there, take some loose change for hot drinks.

cynic-al – guilty as charged, although, I think that it's Mrs ivnickkate who is.

jockhaggis – to further tease cynic-al, I live in a cemetery, and have a vivid imagination, but thanks for those ideas.

Our wall is gloss, because it's quite a dark room, and is used as a child's playroom, so the gloss is easy to clean.

Hi, I think that it was a gloss polyurethane varnish sealant, but can't remember which make it was.

Hi, we brushed down our wall, then hoovered it and painted with a gloss treatment. Some people prefer a matt look, however here's a pic.
