Yes to Bergamo, very nice indeed. We also went to Intra on Lake maggiore, little town with central square , brilliant botanical garden at villa taranta but possibly too quiet then.

Thanks for all the suggestions and your offer Ben.  All sorted now.  I had fitted a  new bb92 and thought i still had play in the crankset.  Turns out it was one pedal  😀.

Mild peril is the alternative route that haggis is on about.  I don’t think that the boundary trail will ever reopen due the massive tree plates that have been uprooted.  However, bits of it have survived except you have to cross over to leithen door side and back to access them. 😅

Yes, Daughter takes one every night before she goes to sleep.  Seems to work well, whether it’s a placebo effect or not. I’m not sure. Best of luck . C

There’s a  30 minute free parking at the long stay car park. Bit of a risk because it’s a 10 minute walk to the airport.  🤣

<li style=”text-align: left;”>We’re having a few days in Treviso just now. Weather is changeable but not too warm. Very relaxing going to get Daisses ice cream and look at the Pinerello shop. Then south to Ca Savio for a week at the beach, and  Venice for the last few nights.

Look up ” report a dodgy mot “with DVSA. Who might be able to help , or your friend can tell the garage that is what is going to happen.

Well you could go up via Haystoun/Glensax estate , but it would a massive push up at the end. It is possible to be cycled but very very hard.

Would the gypsy Glen route be too much?

Whilst getting our house rewired, we bought a new doorbell system because we assumed that the doorbell was hard-wired. When all the old electrics and fuse box was finally removed. The old doorbell was still working. Yep, battery powered. Checked the batteries, they still had a full charge.

Only being living in the house for 23 years……

If you are in Scotland, try cycle law Scotland. I wouldn’t try claiming against a council on my own. A good cycle lawyer may have access to claims for the same location. Councils are notorious for ignoring claims. Also can you get someone to take pics of the road surface anda measuring ruler for size reference. Don’t put any details on-line. Best of luck and hope recovery goes well.

Hi, try not to use the Tweed :)

The Leithen water used to have a couple of spots. One at the salmon cauld near the Golf course, and further up the B709 Granites Road, there’s another at the first cattle grid near the old quarry layby and entrance to the Leys, is Leys pools.

Posterior dislocation for me was about 13 years ago. I had to walk a few km out of the forest and got to a&e about 6 hours later. Yes, very difficult to see on x-ray, apparently because the ligaments etc pull your shoulder back in, albeit not in the socket. Since been told phone Mountain Rescue asap, because of possible trapped veins and nerves causing more damage. anyway, I had long term loss of thumb and forefinger feeling/strength, 18months. but physio is your friend, long elastic band things and an oversized clothes-peg to exercise thumb and forefinger. I still have occasional pain usually after splitting logs with an axe.

Look at Strava Heatmap and look at your o/s map to compare some off-road trails, also Trailforks may be useful

Couple of dodgy descent bits on gypsy Glen for a gravel bike but still a good shout if op adds it on to another route, also see Southern upland way.

google Tweedlove Gritopia events where you can find route maps going back to 2018 and mix and match. There’s still areas where storm Arwen has damaged trees over the fireroads and paths. But still plenty of choice in the Tweed Valley.

Kingsmeadows car park would be the closest free car parking. But will probably be really busy. Best bet would be to park at the Glasgow Road free car park next to the cemetery and take a 5 minute stroll down to Tweed green.
