G-Wide, nice, wide bars. Drop just much too much for my small hands. Used it for probably around 14 months or so and finally sold in September or around…

Does no one like the gleam of polished alloy anymore?

    Nope, noone sadly :(

Hence I have friend of mine stripping and polishing Genetic Digest 480 for me, as black wasn’t sitting well with my aesthetics…

feels a bit too low and cant grab the brakes easily

If you are having that issue on VentureMAX any other handlebars will only exaggerate it. It is matter of drop being too deep for your hands. And VentureMAX is already very shallow.

Try Ritchey Beacon. More flare less drop. For my small hands going from VentureMAX to Beacon was good. Finally can reach levers riding on the drops :D

I would not change from Campa to KMC. All my chains are Campa, 9, 10 and 11 speed.

But I’m using KMC/YBN quick links to make my life easier.

Paid for 2 years, now on second year of unpaid and frankly see not much difference.

Bugs that were there still remains, route planner is as useless as it was before.

The best I tried is Ride with GPS in manual mode.

Yeah, niche, but not unheard of. Friends had their full sussers singlespeeded for SSEC in Scotland few years back.

Codeine and Canfield Riot. They didn’t even bother with dedicated chain tensioners, just used their rear mechs with limit screws cranked all in.

Was working fine, they finished the course.

Not a trail centre but ladybower area was car chaos. Not been since summer and forgot how bad it was getting.

Ditto… Went for night ride around Ladybower yesterday and even at 9PM there were still quite a few cars, vans, caravans and stealth-caravans parked in usual locations (Stanage Edge, Hollin Bank, Ladybower and around). So I dread to think what was it this mid-morning…

What type of chainring works best for a half link 3/32 chain?

Any non-NW that would be 3/32 or narrower.

Don’t make that mistake of buying 1/8 wide chainring for 3/32 chain. Won’t work…

    Hi,

Wide end pin is to be pushed into chain, on the narrow end you either use chains own pin or quick link, if you happen to have one.

At least that’s what I used to do with half links.

    Hi,

It is well known issue on Strava. Just look Strava Support for “PR not updating after ride”. Looks like it is at least several years old known issue.

Occasionally it helps to edit ride, save it as hidden, edit once again save a unhidden. Also doing the same with changing activity type and then going back to cycling seems to have similar effect.

    But not always…

Go for Aquapac 25 (Aquapac 25 rucksack)
Not as waterproof as Lomo, that I swaped it for but pretty good. Bonus for Laptop sleeve that get transferred to my Lomo pack and you can use bladder as well.

Mine, both Lomo and Aquapac are/were used for 18 miles one way commuting and weekend rambling around.

How about the easiest. Measure OLD of wheel you are kicking out and use one with matching hub sizing for analogue version?

There is very few available 130mm Disc hubs/wheelsets on the market. Mainly available as OEM stuff. Personally seen only some Bontrager numbers and 1 aftermarket hub – BLB Via

needed to leave the wheel flat, on it side,

Always doing so. Works a treat. Only Missus complaining that she stumbles on wheels cluttering middle of the kitchen or living room xD

If I’m on tubes – that is rather infrequent these days, at lest for me – I’m avoiding sticky tape, and just going for recommended or closest available to recommended width, removable, plastic/vinyl tape. No sticky residue, no faffing around. Just pop it in, done.

So let me have it straight…

You are finding taping and tyres fitting a chore but you would be fine with fiddling with magnet to move little item within rather tight, enclosed space and once done you will still need to put tyre on?

Make perfect sense to me :D

Why would you want to race a bike that locks its rear Suspension as soon as you use the brake

Is that not the way round in this thing? You brake, you lose. Simple as… ;)

If the bead fit is a little baggy, which it sounds like it is

Tyre seems a bit stuck on the rim bed, even with soapy water it’s not moving onto the side to snap on.

Errmmm… That doesn’t sound to me like “baggy” but rather “too tight”…

Fit it with tube onto any other rim and try to stretch. Warm it before fitting, that generally helps fitting stubborn tyres…

    Just different feel underfoot…

The split Ergon/Canyon post works really well.

As long as you are OK with creaks and rattling head overtime it is fine post.

I also have 400mm cheap J&L Ti seatpost. Rating it much higher for compliance than CF.

Some people like racing, some don’t.

Some people thinks racing in any shape and form sucks, some people can’t see point in riding for the sake of riding.

Matter of opinion, that I believe is free to express.

My back side is absolutely fine, but thanks for your concern.

    I used to have:

VG Sport 11/52 12 speed cassette
    Sunrace mech and Shifter.
    KMC Chain
    Superstar Chainring
Shimano FC-M751 octalink crankset and random fitting bottom bracket.

    Was working a treat :)

I’m in the same camp. No padding on bib longs, but padded shorts underneath.

Managed to buy myself some 2nd hand Raphas (Deep Winter or something like that) last year before it got cold. Happy with them. Double happy as I wasn’t paying full price, probably about 30% of it.
Their actual prices are frankly obscene…

Planet X winter, unpadded biblongs kept me fine before that.

You can’t go wrong with them for the price.

Before that someone also suggested Lusso. That was my second choice.

    Realibility rides
no quarter offered, no prisoners taken,
    “no drop” MTB ride

… and that’s why I’m riding on my own or just with one/two mates of similar fitness and mindset.

Life is too short to waste time for cycling willie-wagging and colossal cabbage-heads on wheels…

I would defo go with Hope adapters.

Had issue with E4s on my forks and frame. Only Hope adapters were placing caliper as it should be without colliding with frame or caliper itself.

Unless you are OK with some filing jobbie on the cheapo one…

Might be… I’m a bit paranoid about over-tightening of steam bolts as had it once in a very, very bad way, that cost me a lot of nerves and a bit of money as well.

Hmmm… I use my lid fairly regularly, doing about 7k miles a year, but I do not remember EVER having helmet pads “disintegrating”.
Because of my odd head shape I’m keeping lids for years and years…

So what people do to “disintegrate” helmet pads?
