@edhornby Worsley is in Salford. Too far for the op, but not to shabby.

As badlarma there are some good places in Eccles.

I’d look at the city centre /Quays / northern quarter flat option for 6 months.

    Very nice indeed sir!

Are those Fox 140s? I was thinking of going for a Fox fork /Thompson headset combination.

I have a pair, quite wide fitting, but other than that OK. Not much else to compare as I’ve only had XC type spds before. I’m quite happy with them.

Nothing to hairy on either, plus there’s nearly always someone on the course. I tend to just ride the Monkey now, as currently the Dogs best bits are being seen too.

The natural Degla route sounds good. Bland, I sent you an email asking about your stunner.

I rode upper cliff and the previous hill tonight, they were fine* about from being dry and dusty.

    * allowing for the usual braking bump hammering the trails get at this time of year.

@shindiggy – I’m in, just a couple of junctions up the M5 from me.

They can’t exclude duty of care, or liability to negligence in this manner.

The point i’d be more concerned about is that they think its a reasonable approach to try to exclude this, and/or are ignorant of their duties.

Insurance is another matter, they should have it. Its more how its structured, what type of org. they are, affiliated with a sport NGB etc.

You may want to point out *gently* that wording/approach is as useful as a chocolate fireguard.

I think it’s a great idea, and had a similar thought when reading The Chase Trails membership poster at Cannock t’other week.

Being transparent with monies, how they are handled ect does help with small donations. You might want to post something on your blog about that.

I’m in,even if I’m unlikely to ride there – just to see if it works.

The Mrs is a technician. The expense is mostly in the mark-up. The creation of the teeth is skilled work – with a lot of bodging* involved.

    *Its a technical term apparently.

+1 for UKRGB. Just don’t mention fishermen / access..

Coaching, try Ken Hughes / Stu Gibbon for NE coaching. I can put you in contact if needed, otherwise PYB or Glenmore Lodge. It might be worth just going to a local Watersports centre for a 1 and 2 star course, as you’ll be with a group at the same level and could develop a group of boaters from there.

    Graham,

I have the same issue a Sony Ericsson Arc. Its to do with the older versions of Android and general bloatware. I periodically delete old photos, once they’ve been back up on-line and clear the cache.

As you wrote – You can delete all the updates on FB/Flash/Gmaps ect, but they still update in the background.

I haven’t found a permanent solution either, other than hacking into the phone and doing a forced updated to Ice Cream Sandwich. I didn’t fancy doing that.

    Superdale,

Depending on who is funding it, and how minded/good you are at wrote learning I’d consider going straight to diploma level. Especially if you have some background in OSH. If not then the gen or construction are a good foot in the door.

There is a lot of temp contract work, not sure how permanent construction is, but experience plus CMIOSH, and some business sense is the ticket to higher end salaries. Have a look at SHP jobs.

CEN is the organisation that establishes common European standards – those marked as EN (in the main with a few variations).

It’s important not to mix up regulation/directives and standards – the latter being developed with/by industry to prove that a product is at a given level. Standards are not necessarily legally enforceable, although they’re referred to in court as common practice/compelling advice.

It works in the UK though industry professional bodies, with BSI offering the secretariat in the main for the working groups. See:

Northern Quarter for drinks on Saturday eve. Couple of quid in a taxi, bit of a faff to walk to if you don’t know the area.

Felicini on Oxford Rd does good Italian food.

Cask on Liverpool Road – proper ales, about 3 mins walk from the Hilton.

There’s a really good Tapas bar, about half way down Deansgate – can’t remember the name, good for a late lunch.

War museum north is different- good building, you could do this with a trip up the Ship Canal.. and combine this with a tour around Old Trafford!

Urbis would have been good for a few hours, but it’s shut currently. Trip on the Manchester eye…

2nd for Akbars / East is East for curry.
