I have been to a Bat Mitzvah and it was was a very relaxed celebration. I think it may depend on whether the family throwing it are secular as to how religious\traditional the ceremony part of it is. As said above if they are inviting non-Jewish kids I think it should be more of a party than a religious occasion.

We gave cash and my niece used it for a trip to Hungary to visit her grandmothers relatives. I think it is quite common to use this money to go on a trip somewhere – so cash is always welcome.

Hijack, any good sources for a brown leather strap like the one in the linked review?

Toshi makes the best straps – expensive but worth it. I have one on my SKX009 and it’s still going strong after 5 years.

I have been having a look myself at this. Mine also needed to be unobtrusive as it is a sun-room so I wouldn’t be able to hide the wires anywhere. The best solution I came up with is the Yamaha YSP1400 – although it is a soundbar according to reviews it does manage to achieve a decent level of surround sound. It does this by way of an app for your phone where you tell it how your room is laid out and it works out the best way to bounce the sound of the walls.

It is slightly over your budget (and mine) at around £230. I have decided to hold off until I can afford it but this option is decidedly more boring than buying something :(

Kodi is media centre software that can be unofficially sideloaded onto the Firestick. The hacks are really the addons you enable such as Genesis or Phoenix that enable you to watch streams.

The Firestick is really good value especially if you get the offer to pick one up for £25.

Been going to the same girl for ten years she works for herself and moves salon occasionally. I pay about £15 but she is really good and I book an appointment so don’t have to spend any time queueing. Have had a lot of good chats over the years.

acting was brilliant, what more do you lot want?

That’s what I was thinking …tough crowd. I loved the episode just for the fact it was doing just that – setting the scene. It was all about the music and the banter between the different characters. No doubt it will start getting a bit more gritty in the next episode but I was quite glad it eased us in gently. The slow motion scenes at the disco when Fools Gold came on were brilliantly done.

Woody is England’s answer to Ron Burgundy….he clearly has no filter between brain and mouth.

I thought it was a really good start to the series, amazingly cheery and upbeat for a TIE episode. Some hilarious moments as well.

Cant wait…have watched all the rest again in preparation. Looking forward to some classic Woody:

Redbreast is a good idea for someone who likes Jameson’s. It has won loads of awards and if you check the supermarkets you can usually pick up a bottle for around £35.

Its amazing….definitely watch. It is quite full on but worth sticking with as the characters and the banter between them is brilliantly written and acted.

Cant wait for the new one…the trailer makes me laugh every time he does his fools gold parody.

It’s a bit schmaltzy in places, and formulaic to a degree

It becomes unbearable somewhere during the second series.

Peaky Blinders, This is England and Fargo are all brilliant and are really worth watching. Mr Robot I am watching at the minute and enjoying. Broad City is a left field comedy recommendation.

I got a Phillips one from Amazon and it works well with the hifi and sounds good (considering it is bluetooth) – it was around £30.

I know Kodi is the full version so I preseume Plex is also. Plex is based on Kodi (formerly Xbmc) as it is open source.

Amazon Firestick has Plex. Have you considered Kodi though? It has a lot more features.

Grandaddy are recording a new album I think

That makes me happy cheers Joeydeacon.

@Muzzle +1 on The Delgados. They wrote some amazing songs and albums not to mention running the Chemikal Underground and discovering Mogwai and Arab strap….it has amazed me they never got the appreciation they deserved. Think they are still running the label tho.

Ones no longer with us – Grandaddy and the Beta Band.

Still on the scene – Mount Kimbie and White Denim.

What do you get on Kodi? Is it a monthly subscription or a one off payment?

You just have to buy the device to run it on. KODI is open source software that can run on lots of different devices – one of which is the Firestick (albeit unofficially). It can be used to read a media server or you can also use it to run add-ons such as Genesis which can stream tv shows/movies. There are several videos on Youtube that will run through the installation process.

I have just got rid of sky after having it for about 10 years. We still use one sky box in one room for freesat HD but have also added an amazon firestick sideloaded with KODI…as mentioned above. In the other room we have signed up for BT at about £10 a month and we also have the laptop hooked up to the TV so also have KODI running on that.

We haven’t really missed Sky at all – although we decided to add BT recently as realised we had nothing to record on and there are no catchup services if you use your old sky box. BT (including BT sport) worked out the same price as enabling recording freesat on one sky box so makes much more sense.

Blur, Oasis, Suede, The Verve, Coldplay, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Stereophonics, Snow Patrol and U2 – except the drumbeat from Sunday Bloody Sunday as Dj Shadow wouldn’t have had an awesome sample to play with.

Radiohead, who admittedly are depressing as ****, are the only band I would even entertain the idea of going to see at an arena gig.

Another with the Cybex – great seat….far better than the Maxi Cosi one I have in my car.

Depends on how much you want to spend. For £25 the Anker A7908, £40 the Creative Muvo Mini, £50 the JBL Flip 2 and above that I would go for the Creative Sound Blaster Roar 2 rather than the Bose but that’s probably personal preference.

Homeland is ace – will have to give Deadwood a watch.

Mr. Robot is also worth checking out – I am only a few episodes in but it’s good so far. Even the wife likes it despite the geektastic subject matter.

Another vote for the Vasa. They built the museum around the boat…it is truly amazing when you first walk in and see it.

City hall is also good as is the Noble Museum. Mostly though I would go to lots of coffee shops and soak up the city’s wonderful atmosphere.

Just did a bit of research on this as my wife needed a new phone and the new Moto G (3rd Gen) seems to get really good reviews and is around that price.

Yeah it’s pretty good there are quite a few other suggestion sites but this is the only one I have seen that displays it in such a way.

Presumably with lots of tags to link similar artists/bands

I don’t the whole woo haa about him headlining – he’s popular so he gets booked to headline…there’s plenty of other things on so go see (or red button) one of those and stop creating **** pointless petitions.

At the same time I think most of the stuff he has done is absolutely shite. This is not age related as I like plenty of less mainstream hip hop acts who I would happily watch. I also think he is a complete cock – if evidence is needed on this then watch his whole Beck Grammy fandango. What a muppet.

We have an out’n’about one thats been brilliant so far as we live beside the beach. They are prone to punctures as they have proper tyres but after putting that goo stuff in we have been fine. Think they are made by Bill and Teds but are a bit cheaper and also lighter. Would definately recommend, we have had no issues with its size.

Chemical Brothers looked good….they are always amazing live. Apart from that Wolf Alice and Caribou stood out for me. Sleaford Mods and Kate Tempest looked interesting/scary. I missed Hot Chip and Run the Jewels so will have to check them out on iPlayer.

The Phoenix add-on on might have BBC on it. It has everything else so it is quite likely. You need to add Fusion and then the tv-addon repository before you can add Phoenix. There are plenty of YouTube walkthroughs for this.

This repository also has Genesis on it which gives you access to pretty much every box set. Not that I am in any way condoning it’s use as I am sure it is not entirely legal 8O . Just saying like.

You waited 3 months to say told you 8O 4k is also dependant on how big the screen is and how far away from it you are sitting. Of the top of my head I think the extra detail becomes redundant on a 40 inch tv from over 6 foot. There is a graph that i couldnt be arsed finding that scales this up for larger tv’s.

Camper ones are great but I have had to chuck mine now, lasted a few years though. Uniqlo do a similar but cheaper alternative that are still going strong.
