I think it’s a real shame that manufacturers design such aesthetically pleasing bits of kit but are so fragile that we have to wrap them in protective casings that hide the original design.

I always buy a case, even though its a work phone. Mostly because then it has some individuality. Also I don’t really care how much effort was made making it look generically sleek and shiny and…..if I am honest….I want to hide the fact its an iPhone.

I’ve just checked out that BACP website and using their register I’ve found a dozen or so in my local area. I honestly don’t know which one to plumb for as their profiles all say similar things so I’m pretty much just going to pick one at random and contact them

Profiles on the BACP website are as you say usually quite similar, as it concentrates on qualifications. It should however also have links to websites if the counselor has one. This can maybe give you more of an idea about the person behind the qualifications and could help you decide which one to contact first.

I can offer a bit of advice as my wife is a counselor. If you go to the BACP website they have a register of certified counselors in your local area. I would start there and then you can also have a look at a few of their websites to decide which one you would like to contact. Good luck.

That is brill news. I brought a bottle back from America in the summer presuming you couldn’t get it here. Now I can stop using it sparingly……Sriracha with everything.

“Every time you go away, you take a piece of meat with you”. Is what a school friend of mine admitted is what he thought the lyrics were, he never quite lived that one down.

Have they run out of budget yet?
Have they decided to spend more on the windows then first planned?

We get it…..you dislike grand designs. To be fair though. I think the majority of people building their own house (that I know of anyway) could probably tick the above.

Keeping the theme with Fugazi and the thread title. A tune I didn’t appreciate as genius until recently (although I never thought was awful) is Minor Threat – Cashing in. The singer of Fugazi’s previous band and what I now think is there best song:

Has this turned into a Fugazi appreciation thread? If so count me in.

I have been to the Vasa and it is truly amazing. When you first walk in to the museum and see the ship it is completely overwhelming. The fact that they built the museum around the ship and have spent so much time creating the accompanying exhibits make it a place really worth visiting.

GT is the most fugly car I have seen in a long time…..how it ever managed to make it into production I don’t know. Not sure what the touring looks like but I am pretty sure it can’t look any worse.

I never really get the Messi/Ronaldo argument….it is a possibility that they are both bell-ends.

Agreed and hopefully joined by the Republic

Yes, really hope they can get a win against Belgium. They really deserved one against Sweden….just hope it doesn’t come down to the Italy match.

Everyone very happy (with sore heads) here in Norn Iron. After a poor opener we played well as a team, just like in qualification. Better than the some of our parts and all that.

Good to see England, Wales and Norn Iron have all at least won a match. Time to cross fingers that we can all get through the group stages.

As above you can’t go wrong with a Seiko.

Or as a left-field choice there are some good watches to be found on Kickstarter. Especially if you are looking for something a bit different, such as a retro inspired watch. For that price you should be looking for Sapphire glass and at least a decent (Seiko or Citizen) quartz movement.

Song from Moderat’s really good new album. The video reminds me a lot of playing Halo:

Song from DIIV’s amazing second album that I have been constantly playing the last couple of weeks:

And have just re-discovered this. Amazing mix of African artist and a top draw electronic artist:

    You sure it’s not a Mondeo ?

Yeah…..the grill hasn’t been ripped off an Aston.

That does look pretty good for £10k.
    Oh.

Not suggesting it to the OP as he has already ruled Skoda’s out. Just commenting that it looks pretty good to someone who claimed that the Superb was a munter.

Looked a one a few years ago when I was buying a new car. I am an old man but even I couldn’t drive one of them around. Comfortable and felt like a well built car but look awful.

The new Superb looks pretty good to me:

Beta Bands last live gig. Wasn’t there but knowing how good they usually were live I am sure it was awesome. Can only find one song but check out the audience participation at the end….sounds amazing:

There are loads of good pubs in the Cathedral Quarter (like the Duke of York & John Hewitt mentioned above) a couple of good restaurants round that way too

As above the Cathedral Quarter is the place to go – if so check out the Spaniard. Small but lots of charm.

Still think Kick Ass is the best superhero movie ever.

Have you seen Deadpool? It kicks Kick Ass’s ass.

I liked bits of the film. As has been said it is nowhere near as good as the last 3 Batman’s. Superman is incredibly dull in it and Louis Lane is annoying in that she takes accident prone to a whole new level. Wonder Woman is pretty damn cool though.

Not a fan of KODI. I use Plex, and paid a one off fee to have some libraries shared with me.
its day and night compared to KODI.

Plex is based on Kodi (formerly xbmc). A developer left and took the source code and developed Plex. It is essentially a cut down version of Kodi but is not as powerful. The difference you experience is more likely due to the fact you are paying for your streaming service.

    Dinosaur Jr and pavement…
    Fugazi anyone?

Fugazi were (hopefully are) not grunge. Ian Mackaye would not be a happy chappy with this.

Sonic Youth should definitely be mentioned.

Agree with Stainypants on Nick Cave. Amazing body of work.

I think there are more consistent artists than you think. I can think of a few that I could argue the case for and they are only ones that are defined by my taste/listening experience.

manic street preachers – just really annoyed me as I just couldn’t see attraction…I know Richie disappeared and all but still….really?

suede – as above but without Richie disappearing

    coldplay – no explanation needed

oasis…..although I still have a soft spot for Definitely Maybe as I bought it the day it came out and listened to it non-stop for 2 months. I was working 16 and working in McDonalds at the time, so that’s my excuse.

Tried to post this earlier on my phone but monumentally failed.

I would recommend anything by Shellac – they have a sound all of their own which fits your description nicely. They get this sound as they build their own amps and guitars. Also because one of them is Steve Albini who has probably worked on a lot of the songs/albums already mentioned.

Here’s a song about riding bikes:

I use mine everyday and I usually put 1 heaped coffee spoon (big plastic spoon with tamper on the end) in without tamping and then fill the water to 2/3 of the max level. Apparently it is a 4 person pot but this does me one nice cup of decent strength coffee. If I want an espresso I would use the espresso machine.

Like mentioned above the trick is to take it off the heat before it starts bubbling – this means you get less coffee through but what is there is less bitter. I have found that putting it on my wood burning stove is even better as it heats it a lot slower and more coffee is produced before it is boiled.
