I always get the link from the app – if it displays the shortened url it’s not a problem…it just didn’t show in the preview so I presumed it didn’t work.

Cheers Metalheart. Does the preview not work then?

I give up googling. WTF with posting videos on this forum? Do the short YouTube links not work? Do you have to do your own video tags?

Awesomez…Big Black, Shellac and Idles all in one place. I will go with some Fugazi:

Good idea for a thread, I have added all of the above which should keep me going for a while.

I have lots of different playlists for different types of music and occasions. One I am pleased with, but still adding to, is this alternative hip hop one. It’s probably not extremely alternative (before I get lambasted) but there is no Kanye, Jay Z or any such shite.

Denham do some really nice jeans and can occasionally be seen in TK for around £50.

    Lee, unashamed denim snob.

You should be wearing Lee jeans really since they are bearing your name and all. Also really good jeans for the money, usually better made than Levi’s.

It is unsaniforized or raw denim that shrinks, not sure about floppy. You are meant to buy this type of jeans slightly larger and they then supposedly mould to your body.

Selvedge just refers to the traditional loom that is used and the edging that is visible down the seams.

The less you wash both types of jeans initially the more likely you will get “wicked fades” if that flicks your switch.

Bootcut jeans are pretty horrific, mind you so is the thought of wearing anything bearing the Armani logo.

Nudie as suggested wear really well and just get better with age, Edwin also make some really good jeans. Uniqlo are amazing value. No doubt someone will be along in a minute suggesting Huit.

Battles are awesome, saw them at ATP when they just released their first album…brilliant live.

@Garry Phosphorescent is an amazing songwriter, if you haven’t heard the track Los Angeles yet check it out.

Protomartyr is a band that has been around for a while and I am only appreciating now. Glad I have discovered them.

I’m doing it too, I have done it the last couple of years. Last year a work trip away cut it short by a few days but I am happy just to prove that abstaining for a small time is possible and relatively easy.

This year has been fine so far although I am also trying to eat a lot healthier as well…the combination seems to be creating my own personal wind farm

Marcus Intalex – FabricLive 35 has always been my favourite. Immense mix of a brilliantly picked selection of outstanding tracks, largely all suitable for old people :D

I was sad to hear he passed away last year.

Smoke started coming out of the front of our stove…..something to do with a down draft apparently, which can be caused by high winds. After frantic googling it was resolved by opening a window which meant the smoke started going back up the flue.

I checked out the warranty direct index out as I was curious as the Superb always finishes as one of the best on the Driver Power reliability survey. It does finish slightly worse off than the E class, though it doesn’t seem to take the specific engines into consideration. Out of interest, did you check out the score for the A6 on the index? Pretty much the worst score possible.

Sorel Caribou or Pac boots, meant for snow but I find them great for mucky walks with the dog or through National Trust gardens.

Basically see the end of Thor Ragnarok, similar idea there

Thor is shit loads better though, apart from Deadpool I reckon it’s the best Marvel movie so far.

I was so excited about TLJ as really liked TFA and Rogue One. There were some good bits nestled in there but there were so many cringe worthy unnecessary shrapnels of Star Wars turds that I came away forgetting all about them.

A case of these from a local craft brewery that I pledged to in Crowdfunder. My mate did the artwork.

..and one of these. Milk stout that is 10%….definitely a sipper.

My wife has a Seat Ateca with the full Led’s and they are crazy bright. I have an Octavia VRS with the xenons and they are a vast improvement over the standard lights my previous Octavia had. Whilst not as bright as the Led’s on my wife’s car they are bright enough and are pretty clever with the directional lighting.

Ride of the year: Local trails, new baby so no trail parks this year.
Thread of the Year: uuni pizza oven one…it made be buy one and its awesome
    TV: Detectorists and Peaky Blinders
    Album: Dark Sky – Othona
Film: Surprisingly thought the new Thor was hilarious, but it was done by the guy who brought us “Hunt for the Widerpeople” and “What they do in the shadows”….so not that surprising really.

I’ve never bought Fat Face jeans, just sweatshirts and shirts which seem well put together. Uniqlo jeans for the money are brilliant.

Fat Face stuff is well made and in a similar style, their Airlie sweatshirts are super. Nudie also has a great range these days in addition to their jeans…which I am a big fan of.

I have been checking Huit out for a while as I like to occasionally buy a nice pair of jeans. I always feel that there is better value for money out there – especially from places like Gustin and Denham. But because I have never committed to a pair I am unable to speak on the quality of their jeans. It is interesting to hear about the Howies connection though.

The first figure (3+) is the initial rental. The first example given would be £714 (3 * £238) and then 23 payments of £238. If you carry that down for all the different quotes then you can see if there is any difference and which figure makes more sense.

We bought the Ateca with the 1.4tsi and think it’s super. Good amount of space without being massive to park and lovely to drive. The engine is a cracker, the downside as already pointed out is the 6 month wait for it.

Makes awesome pizza. Bought one mid summer and have used it around 10 times so far as everyone loves the pizzas. BBQ is sitting there looking very unimpressed by the lack of use.

Mount Kimbie, Blockhead, Mogwai and LCD are ones that have already been mentioned. Also current favourites are Broken Social Scene – Hug of Thunder, King Krule – The Ooz, Dark Sky – Othona and Basstronaut – Basstronaut. Basstronaut are very easy on the ears.

Only just discovered the back catalogues of Brian Jonestown Massacre and Can. I never really appreciated Kyuss until I had heard the first couple of QOTSA albums….not just recently discovered though I suppose.

Personal life of no interest. his taste for child sex. is almost libel ffs. Removed my link to the Borland docu for that bollocks. Read Pigface’s link – there was 1 15 yo groupie. Same old bores bring it up everytime his name is mentioned. Doesn’t make any difference to his legacy of contribution to the music industry to me.

Totally agree with this. The groupie thing was one flippant comment that someone picked up on….albeit a very stupid comment. Also his American wife lied to him about her age.

I have only recently discovered them too, this track must be my most played on Spotify by now.

QOTSA, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey I would definitely agree with. I would also add Mogwai, Aphex Twin and Coldcut.

Jay Z really? He would top of my “stay bad, always bad” thread along with many other bad hip hop and r’n’b acts. Tribe Called Quest for me should be added to the “good” list.

The self-titled debut was good, as was Rated R, but anything after SFTD is a waste of time. It’s sad as I loved Kyuss, and Homme is a very talented musician, but he clearly needed that input from Oliveiri to make decent music.

I think all their stuff is ace, but would totally disagree with this. If anything their music has been more focused (probably for various reasons) since Oliveiri was sacked.

The two new tracks of the new album for me are proof of this. They just keep getting musically better.

Disagree with Arcade Fire but most of the other ones I would agree with. Very disappointed with the new Gorillaz album…sounds like low-end American drivel.

I would also like to add Biffy Clyro.

Q3 is X1 size, we looked at them when we bought the 2AT.

    Q5=X3=GLC

Cheers. Sorry I didn’t put that well, I was comparing them in size to the Ateca mentioned in the OP.

    isto
    Free Member

I think the Q2 is a fair bit smaller and the Q3 is probably around the same size but more expensive. But yeah I am surprised no-one has suggested a Q3/X3/Chintzy Merc (model escapes me) or worse still an Evoque. Not that any are in the same price bracket…but that doesn’t usually hinder people.

We went for a CX-5 in the end.

It was between a CX-5 and an Ateca for us. I would agree the Mazda is a nicer place to sit but we thought the Ateca was nicer to drive and had more up to date tech in it.

I was sad enough to look this up but the Kuga has a fairly small boot..lifted from a review:

Ford Kuga has a smaller boot than a Volkswagen Tiguan and Honda CR-V, while even the smaller SEAT Ateca and Peugeot 3008 beat it for space. Furthermore, the spare wheel option decreases boot space to 406 litres, giving it 97 litres less than a Mazda CX-5.

On making it not look like a turd?

Personal opinion and all that but I am not sure there is much difference in the level of turdiness.
