A guy who works for our company just got a job which is a huge step up despite the fact the job description states you need to hold a driving licence as the job is basically going round in a pickup as a first man on the scene when problems arise and visiting various work locations. This is a problem as when given the job he hadn’t even passed his test and now that he has he still needs to be driving 3 years before being allowed to drive company vehicles…

Nah I’ve got a full 9 speed setup that came straight off my eldest sons Orbea as he had a spare 10 speed setup I had kicking about!

@Countzero, not neccesarily. The speakers in mk4 Golfs and I think later models as well far outperform the headunit fitted and it’s recommended to drivers of those models to upgrade the headunit alone so it is supplying sufficient power. I’m running a 4x55w Alpine unit and it’s superb.

OP, your best bet is gonna be to ask the lads on Briskoda.net or just have a browse of the site. I’m sure you’ll find the answers you need!

What car is it? Some cars have more than adequate speakers but the headunit lets them down by being so underpowered. I’d start off by just getting a decent headunit and going from there, if you just listen to the radio the sound quality is never going to be groundbreaking anyway!

Mio Fuse, same HRM tech that Garmin use in theirs, links to strava/garmin watches/etc and you can specify ranges of heart rate at which it will vibrate on your wrist to let you know you’ve reached/gone over.

I wear mine everyday for walking, riding, going to the gym and for a stealth sole they’re holding up so well I’m actually looking at a second pair in a different colour just to switch it up occasionally!

A few years ago when my cousin worked in the signalbox I’m in tonight he told me when he’d been lay down trying to get a sneaky bit of sleep (on more than one occasion this is), he’d had all the lights off in the box and could have sworn he could hear someone (other than himself) breathing. Since then he left and I took his job in here and I’ve also had quite a few moments when I’ve been asleep but woken up from the feel of someone brushing past me.
I’m a pussy when it comes to stuff like that anyway and being alone in a signalbox in the middle of nowhere doesn’t help!

Pro 2 trials? You’ll find a 2nd hand one easy enough and can sometimes pick them up for about £50-60. What gear ratio are you going for?

I’m the same with motorcycle helmets, it goes away as the fear of not being able to get the helmet off soon subsides (at least that’s usually what sets me off!)
