I’m confused, to the best of my knowledge there is no bolt to loosen off to change the position of the lever, there are 2 mounting options and that is it. If you’re loosening something to reposition the lever (I can only think that this is the bolt that attaches the lever to the body) then I’d suggest that this is the source of the problem.

If you unbolt the unit from the bar clamp there is a hex bolt in the top which holds the lever on underneath

It’s the 1X style lever, seems like a really bad design in that it has a bolt you loosen off to change the way the lever is pointing but the first few times I used it I simply pushed the lever and it came loose and just spun backwards. I didn’t want to over tighten it though for fear of stripping the bolt or it snapping if I push the lever too hard.

Had one of the older ones a few years back and the button system seemd far better IMO

Didn’t come with a manual, not sure if this is standard PX service.
Will have a look at the speed thanks!

Not doing anything in particular they’re just made really poorly.
The handles usually pull off first as the metal is so thin and the build up of wet coal dust in the bottom kills them!

Komoot is a fantastic app definitely worth a try.
You have to pay for map regions but it gives you the first for free (so I got the whole of Derbyshire which is the only place I’ll be riding/walking anyway.
You can also plan rides by picking points on a map and it links them up using proper trails and it recommends rides/walks you might like based on similar users or rides you have done.

A lad had his bike nicked about 800m away from our farm this afternoon.
16:30ish 3 lads pulled up in a Citreon C3 and held the lad up at knifepoint (he’s only 14) and had his Santa Cruz 5010 off him.
Scares me as my 12yr old has just started going out with a friend on little loops after school, he’s only on a modded Trek hardtail but I wouldn’t want him to go through something like that with a friend or alone!

Yes a steady low stress spin should help disperse the lactic acid and keeps the joint moving/lubricated to stop you feeling stiff

My son moved to a 24 Orbea after his Frog 52 and it’s one of his favourite previous bikes. If she’s into CX however it might be worth checking out the 24 or 26 Wiggins. My other son moved to a 26 after his Frog and it was a cracking bike and ideal for CX races with a tyre change.

I had Spyres on Icetech rotors and they were fantastic, some of the best brakes I’ve owned

How do people think it would ride on a set of Exotic rigid forks?
    Says they’re corrected for up to a 130 fork on a 29er.

Would be perfect as I need an XL but sadly can’t commit the outlay all at once so it will have to be a finance purchase if I do get one

Cycle Space in Disley have DT Swiss listed on their website so my be worth giving them a ring to see if they can help?

The diagonal distance between the BB and the top of the head tube is the major factor in how big a bike feels in my experience.

This is what we used to class as reach on trials bikes as you’re standing all the time, sounds like it’s the stack height I need to consider as well.

Cheers for the advice, deffo doable then!
Was looking at the Vitus Vee recommended in another thread as it pretty much fits the bill other than the size, large only suits up to 6’1″ (I’m a smidge over 6’2″) and someone said it’s a bit short and I have a long upper body/arms.
Does anyone know of something similar?
Can potentially go down the frame only route as I have some wheels, bars and a few other bits but would have to be cheap

Yeah obviously “any old road frame” is one in her size just meant it doesn’t need to be anything decent just cheap and cheerful.
She doesn’t cycle so it’s not specific training or zwift sessions it’s just interval training done via her garmin watch so minimal gear changes though it was pretty much all done in 24th gear so a decent size chainring is a good shout.
Good point about riding the hoods also, never thought about that as previously the bike had flat bars!

As everyone has mentioned with the diet but I wouldn’t be so worried about hitting the weights when you can work bodyweight for next to nothing.
I PT in my spare time and specialise in Calisthenics so would be happy to fire some ideas your way if you fancy?

I’ve got the disc wheels that came on my Genesis CdF going spare if they’re any good?
Alex rims with 19mm id and shimano 525 hubs.
Can do them cheap and probably find a box to post?

Dah smallest Radon frames they’ve got are 16″. Would have been perfect for me otherwise

Literally on the same hunt for my 9yr old.
13/14″ frames are like hens teeth when you want one!

I remember seeing that fall on one of the 999 type progs on BBC1 then saw he posted about it on FB.
Absolute legend of a rider, down to earth and very dedicated. I remember riding the British bike trial champs about 20ish years ago and seeing him there just keeping his head down on that legendary Pace.
Agree about how odd it was Mongoose never really used him to sell bikes over here it was just a weird setup of “we’ll build custom frames and fund this guys life because why not?”. I haven’t got a clue who supplies Mongoose bike (didn’t even realise they made mountain bikes, I thought they were just a BMX brand at first) and I know more than a few people who would have gone for a Mongoose trials frame.

Some unsuspecting victim will snap it up eventually and with ebay’s relisting policy it’ll cost them nothing to keep it on there.
Bit like the top drawer catalogue bikes people sell on Facebook

Exactly same trails and same conditions.
Think I’ll probably stick at 140/120mm as I used to wind the pikes right down for steep ascents which made life easier but can’t do that now.

I thought it wqs fantastic but I can’t get on with touch screen controls for fps as my fingers seem to drift all over.
If it gets controller support I may have another go though

I love Chris’s vids mainly because they juat come across as him enjoying himself no matter what he’s riding and doing a bloody good job of it!
I remember him 20 odd years ago doing the British biketrial champs on his Pace with his missus in tow (who I believe he’s still with) and just getting the job done.
The contract he’s got with Mongoose is amazing, literally living the riders dream.

Yeah I’m gonna go with the fact you’ve swapped to 35mm bars

I ran one for a while on a cx bike I had but only when I ran flat bars as the lever wasn’t big enough to fit on drops.
If there was a suitable solution I’d definitely do it!

100% record with me so far, I think it’s more to do with the standard of the local courier service than Wiggle themselves as I always read stories about people struggling with Yodel and our 2 local drivers are excellent

I bought the Oakley O frame MX goggles to wear with my Decathlon enduro lid and the first thing I noticed when I opened the box this morning was how tight they are, even more so when you wear them with the helmet!

Only asking about the Chinese stuff as had some fake fox bib shorts and top off ebay a few years ago and they were brilliant for the money and know a few friends who bought from the same seller and was all decent gear

18 Bikes set my CDF up with flat bars when I bought it new and I ran it like that for months, I also converted to 1×11 with a narrow wide front.
I just used the original stem flipped so it had a few degrees rise amd it was perfect for me but I eventually succumbed and switched to the original drops.

I dip in and out all the time, can literally go months without even looking at my bike then have a stint with loads of riding.
Same goes for my trials bike, wife says I should sell it but then I’d just end up spending a fortune building another one up as something to do!
