Good choice, the only way it won’t be done is if the owner isn’t happy with the finish. I had the same problem as you with Gary Bevan in Glossop, will never ever go there again. Even had small spots he’d missed!

Buying bike bits is my downfall, especially when it’s quiet at work as that is usually when new projects get purchased!

I spent an hour this afternoon ambling around a field with a scythe hacking away at all the thistles we have. I don’t like the heat at the best of times so this was pure punishment and now my hands are blistered to ****!

I agree with daftvader, my first son was desperate to get on a bike like me and was racing about on his balance bike shortly after his 2nd birthday and on a 16″ Hotrock without stabilisers the week after his 3rd birthday. Second son wasn’t as interested so instead of pushing him to ride I just left him to his own devices, one day he just decided he wanted to have a go on it and that was that. Was the same when he moved to a big bike, as he was such a big lad the balance bike was too small for him pretty soon so he ended up on the hotrock with stabilisers. Didn’t want to go near it without them for months until one day he asked me to take them off then he was riding in half an hour, can’t get him off it now!

We got a Zubat for pruning trees on our farm, absolutely awesome bit of kit and cuts with no effort whatsoever!
If you google them you can find suppliers over here.

Everytime they ask on Facebook what people would like to see on the show I mention bike trials but never even get recognition of my comment. Someone pipes up about roadies and they’re straight on saying they’ll see what they can do.

Seriously if you’ve got an Android phone give Zombies run, 5k a try. Breaks you in slowly and it’s entertaining to take your mind off things (I absolutely hate running so anything that distracts is a bonus!).

Be giving that a miss then, cheers!

My son went to a Frog 55 after his 16″ Hotrock and I’d definitely get another. I don’t think the weight makes that much difference at all, he’s not struggled at all (and I live in the High Peak so wherever you go there’s a hill to ride up!).

I don’t understand why film makers look at a comic or something and think “whilst true fans of this love the original story and it works I think I’ll just completely rewrite the entire thing”

I wouldnt bother spending the extra cash on a Isla bike.I bought our first child an Adams Runner for £70 and that is still going strong 4 1/2 years later after teaching 2 boys to ride.

If you want instant updates when they’re available and no excess software then I’d say go for a Nexus 5. Got one for my wife a few months back and I love it, wish it was out when I upgraded!

I picked up an almost new XT Shadow+ mech someone swapped out from a brand new bike for £25, you’ll easily do it for under £200 and recoup some back if you sell your 9 speed gear

Superstar are going to be selling them but I’ve no idea when they’ll be released.

I’ve just bought some Cruz aero bars with a pair of Thule 532’s. They’re frame mount but I’m making a fork mount to strap on the front wheel strap as the bar doesn’t reach the downtube on my trials bike.
Worth having a look on http://www.roofbox.co.uk for some good deals!

As above with the oldskool wooden ones. I live on a farm and usually the house terrier deals with rats and mice but the odd ones slip past her. Best bait as mentioned previously is peanut butter, nutella or mars bar, gets em every time.

I’d go further afield than Marple. Chinley, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Whaley Bridge and to a lesser extent Glossop and New Mills/Newtown.

As above, loads of places in the Peak District with a direct rail link into Manc that might be worth considering to move to. Make life a hell of a lot easier when you want to get out on the bike!

Someone had a FAB Rocket for sale on here the other week, that’d be an ideal frame as they’re pretty tiny and also amazingly cool!

Worth trying Indiprint on Facebook also, Lucy does some amazing custom jobs though standard repro shouldn’t be a problem at all!

Saw a kid on the school run on Monday on a mini Carrera full sus rig. Setup looked pretty tidy and like you could easily chop a few grams off it, also had front and rear disc mounts on the frame and forks.

I used to love watching the UCI Downhill champs and 4X on Eurosport, was even better when they scheduled a round of the Trials cup at the same venue!

I use http://www.stockportpowdercoating.com, the guy who does it is a proper perfectionist and does a really great job. Ended up coating my last frame 3 times before he was happy with the outcome!

Not for the front it’s for the back. The front brake works great and is really light to pull but with getting rid of the coaster I want to make sure the back end is covered too. Living in the middle of the High Peak means pretty much wherever we go there’s a hill involved!
