Nice work, I planned on the same kind of thing on my sons Frog bike. Not happy with the screw on 7 speed cassette which almost led to a wheel rebuild with a spare Pro 2 (far too much time on my hands!)

Bit of a bump but I got my eldest a 55 at the start of last year for his 6th birthday (the first model I believe with 7 speed). Over the last year and a half it has taken some serious hammer, I fitted new brake pads and cables a few months back and he had to have a new rear mech after a crash (stuck an old RSX short cage I had lying around spare on) and it’s still going strong. I was going to fit some small risers to it for him but he’s pretty much grown out of it so will be getting a new one for Christmas and he specifically wants a red Frog this time whilst his younger brother will be having this one.
I actually came close a few months back to building a new set of wheels up for it with some spare Hope hubs I had lying around so I could upgrade it to 9 speed but never got around to it. May still do with the hubs from my CX bike when I get new wheels for that…

It’s a bit of a pain to get used to at first but with a bit of practice you can get them sounding ok though it helps if the tape and player are in good condition. If you search on Soundcloud and Mixcloud for my username (isitafox) you’ll find a couple I did from some old rave tapes. Got loads more I want to do when I get the time.

Don’t even need to do that. Buy a 3.5mm cable to plug a cassette player into the microphone socket of your pc/laptop then download Audacity. They have a step by step guide in the online manual on how to transfer something, clean it up, split it into seperate tracks for burning on a cd, etc….

I’m hoping to start a Sports, Fitness and Coaching degree course in October if I can get my funding through in time. I’m hoping to squeeze most of my study time in whilst at work (I have a lot of free time) but spread it out over 6yrs. Not 100% sure if I’ll do the full degree yet though as the 4th year requires me to have gained a recognised gym instruction certification which itself looks like a 200hr course so only time will tell!

I quite fancy giving one a go, just to see how I’d get on as I only use my bike for commuting duties so rarely push myself. I had a brief look on the BC website for bike spec rules but couldn’t find much (top quality work intranet is bordering dial up speeds), would I get away with risers on a CX bike or are they super strict?

Also anyone in the High Peak area link me to a local race league website??? :?

Agree with the Jacobs Ladder thing, if you do it as a climb then you’re doing it wrong! (unless you climb it on a hoppy trials bike!)

Relief Signaller, I basically work at a variety of local signalboxes within a set radius of my home box. Been signalling for 6½ years and started this relief job in March.
Job is as steady as they come, 12hr shifts but you have loads of time to yourself in most of the boxes and can earn a fortune especially as a relief.
All the spare time I have though tends to lead to a lot of online spur of the moment purchases….

Only time I ever saw a Gazzolodi was mounted to a big **** off wide Sun rim in a local bike shop. Wasn’t even built up as a wheel just there to show what you could buy if you were stupid enough…

How handy are you at DIY? When I was a window fabricator/fitter a few years back we did a couple of GRP roofs on the odd porch and they’re really simple to do. You can buy all the gear from CFS and they give pretty good guides on the website how to do the job!

I rang EE after an early upgrade a few weeks back and the guy I spoke to told me to hold on until Oct as the iPhone 7 would be out by then and all the current top end Android models would be discounted. With any luck the new Nexus will be out then as well so I can get one of those!

I saw it at the cinema when it came out, luckily the tickets were free from a competition. Otherwise I would have been devestated if I’d had to pay!

Local rag here is generally just a weekly update of who’s been done for drink driving and which houses have had drugs raids.

This headline did however win me over this week Former army man stole biscuits

Lol, I remember about 17/18 years ago when I was around 15/16, me and a few mates randomly decided to go over there one Saturday afternoon as one lad had just bought some new bars for his GT Timberline(?). Set off on the sunniest summers afternoon for a long time, two of us on rigids and two on hardtails and we bombed down the ladder. Got to the bottom and we stopped for a rest when there were two older riders slowly coming down, when they got to the last descent near the river one of them was too scared to ride it and flat refused, his mate was pissing himself especially when one of my friends went back up and came down again on his rigid but the guy still daren’t do it and ended up riding the footpath instead.

I wonder if either of them are on here still??
I’ve got some photo’s from the day saved online somewhere…..

In a similar vein can we have a school rant?? Namely parents who don’t send their kids to their local school but to the one one village over as they’re stuck up their own arses and make the road past it a car park for two hours a day!

Same as Northwind, went to the GP and saw a lady doctor who was very pleased when she got to have a feel of my back. Got referred to NHS physio (who was into bikes herself but sadly taken :( ) who did an awesome job as I was on the brink of slipping a disc. I’ve since had the odd twinge when either lifting heavy in the gym or playing with bar/stem setups on my trials bike but I know how to deal with it now thanks to the physio.

Also, the original Tioga downhill tyres that everyone at Bike 99 had slung over their shoulder (me included). Most dangerous tyres in the world!

I can’t get my head round the whole mtb hatred of ISIS or how they’re so bad. It’s pretty much the standard for trials and despite taking some severe hammer and abuse from a lot of riders they don’t really have much trouble with them??

She is in Sense8 on Netflix. In the buff. With another girl. Wearing ‘accessories’. I nearly choked on my cuppa!

Been thinking about watching that, my decision has just been made!
