I reckon you might like the new Scott genius… they are a great bike to be honest, and the ability to lock out the suspension from the bars is very useful in my opinion, it makes it feel like a hard tail.

Well both are tuned to the bike, a transition covert. I don’t care for the ctd adjustments, just which will feel better?

I think I’ll just go with the monarch to be honest.

Yeah that’s what I thought, I. don’t care about the cosmetics, just the damping.

What makes you say that though?

Hah, i did something very similar at the weekend. Two attractive girls asked me and my friend which track was good to go down, but one said she didn’t want to climb bacj up. She was a bit chubby. I said ‘well if youwant to get fitlike yourfriend, riding ups thebest way’ . Oops

Saying that, if you have money burning a hole in your pocket, I could sell you a great spec dh bike for a grand… 😀

    No, you’ll die!

In all seriousness, youll be fine, ive seen 6/7 foot drops done by a mate on a xc race hardtail, and him and the bike are still going fine. But then he is a bit weird,

Funnily enough, dens is very close to me, and I actually know someone who works there. I’ll give them a call.

Hah not all, there’s one up my local shops between the chippy and the Chinese. And loads down town. Some of the clothes aren’t really desirable enough to sell, so I’d like to send them to a charity that would perhaps send them to homeless people in the UK or abroad?

Frazchops, thanks for the niki croft video. Mark Webb is a first class ****. I’ve met him a couple of times and he’s even more annoying in reality. As for his riding, it is impressive but I find it all a bit over the top really, I’d rather just watch or ride something like this

Out of interest, did they use all trail centre tracks, or were some more natural?

    Ragley marley or piglet ?

Well, I have the superstar wheels, they’ve stood up to a fair bit of abuse. But I had them retentioned after the 2nd ride as they didn’t seem great from new, they’ve been used for riding dh as well. I’d not bother spending the extra on stans as a couple of my mates seem to have dented them rather to easily.

The track looks really fun, but those skids! 8O.

Les arcs is high on my list for next dummer

They are great bikes, and if that’s new, it is a bargain.

To be honest my reasons are the same as hob nobs really. Just read the trail wrong, and went to quick into the corners. I could have ridden any stage the second time, and got a full run in.

Loads of people didn’t complete it anyway, it was a tough race, to be honest I wasn’t too bothered as it was a lot of fun.

Well done hob nob. I’m similar I crashed on all except 1 and 2 and I came to a stop on section 2. Also had 2 crashes on section ?. So overall not too bad. My mate came in 17th

The results and more photos are on the website now. I came 28th overall which I’m pretty happy about!

Yeah, I think I’m too tall, as I can’t stretch my legs enough, or get the headrest at a comfortable height: ill call my manager.

Thanks, they are a large company, so should hopefully have measures in place

Sorry, it wasn’t very clear to me that was what you meant. So how do you think something like a troy lee, or giro remedy would have coped? I’d imagine better, but I thought the urge would surely be better than a normal helmet?

I don’t understand why people are critisising the chin guard because it cracked. Surely that’s better than it being your face? It sounds like it was just doing its job to me

If you have any pics or vids of 88 or 89 that would be great

Yeah, I was number 89, and the tracks were suffering a bit, I wouldn’t have fancied being last to go

Was it only drop off and debs(?) Taking the pictures?

    iridebikes

Yeah, I have to admit, I can understand why stage 4 wasn’t the most popular, very off camber and slippy. I dint mind it though, even though I did crash right in front of drop offs camera. The top was great though. I wasn’t expecting the stages to be as technical, but they were great for me as I was worried it would all be a bit easy. I’m guessing some people found them tough going?

We are all ready talking about another trip to the area for some xc and dh. There were some very tempting looking tracks we went past.

I would reccomend the anthem x. I had one till recently, and it was by far the most fun I’ve had on a xc race bike. The suspension worked very well, and felt like more than 100mm. So that would be top of my list

Yeah, I entered, but I’m now a touch unsure. They have a round at brackell, which has no challenging riding I know of… Are the triscombe tracks worth riding for the day on Saturday?

Cool, are you staying overnight on the Saturday?

    iridebikes

I’ll be there, I’m looking forward to it. I’m hoping the riding will be nice and tech, not too much like a xc course. What is it like in general in those woods?

    iridebikes

Compared to say aston hill or forest of dean downhill tracks?

    iridebikes

    How tough are the tracks?
