  • Sorry double post

I run ust and my experiences are much more positive than most of the above posts

No1 – only a track pump (a strap and washing up liquid) is needed to inflate
No2 – I don’t use sealant and have had only 1 puncture in 8 months
No3 – the less weight on each tyre the better – of course but you only appreciate that when actually riding and not researching
No4 – the downside is they are more expensive

Most of the troubles listed I have never encountered. Make the jump but go ust

    No

    Keepin’ fingers crossed

No5 is a killer. That’s some distance the poor lad falls ….

Same applies to uk bike store and dales bikes. Both sat on my cash for 1 week (or so – prolly not accurate so it’s not defamation) only to be told when I called ‘sorry not in stock, it says that in the checkout’

As an avid Internet shopper (hope the mrs isn’t reading this) I didn’t and still can’t see anything of the sort. Maybe it’s just me but I wouldn’t have ordered if its not in stock

Had a prompt refund from them both but I still without my exposure diablo and night riding with a nice set of halfords as my last decent light was stolen with me hard-tale

Lol@ the 20 mile mild trek … I meant it in it wasn’t gnarly. Not saying the distance is little – I’m 42 for Christ sakes 😉

@amedias – who’s shot you down? … I do agree tyres and a hidden form of suspension but that kashima coating is sh1t hot. Whoop whoop

Anyone not too sure in the Nottingham area I would be glad to lend you the bike/shock for a test run. It’s not cheap so a trail is always a good shout

The fox float r has built in pro pedal hence the lack of small bump response trade of v the lack of wallow.

My post isn’t designed to get fox/mojo a slap on the back, it’s honest feedback from a bike enthusiast. Some above posts have a similar opinion. I can honestly say I feel like I’m riding a 3k plus bike. I’m now looking at my zaskar and wanting to sell it. As for pics I’ll post when I get home

Thanks guys for the responses and pleased most are enjoying the kashima coating. Ps Glenh that will almost be a factor so yeah good point

Cheers guys. How about the frame prep? I’d like to deal with the nicks before I permanently entomb them on my bike

Some silly arguements trying to compare extremities to the head. Having an accident with limbs is painfull but (& that’s a big but) it won’t kill you. A bad head injury could. …. Might not, granted.

I personally use one but not often enough. I fell off my bike & had some knee pads I’m my rucksack. Turns out I’d fractured my knee, cursing my stupidity, I left in a wheel chair. Coming back from Cannock, great day out but stripped off the protection thinking ‘no danger here, I’ll leave my stuff off’ which is exactly what caused my accident. My mistake cost me mobility, I won’t be making the same mistake with my head.

I need to look after it, and my Ginger hair …. Lol

That statement was misguided. If personal attacks makes you feel big then continue. Its an emotive subject

Thanks cadet. Would really appreciate it.

I know my stolen bike isn’t as fantastic as most on here but it had been upgraded & if I include all my bike paraphernalia then it’s cost me well in excess of 2.5k.

Split from long term soul mate about ten months ago, looked fors hobby to fill my spare time & I found mtbiking. Now it’s gone I feel lost.

I immediately informed the police as 2 officers were stood about 20 feet from where it was stolen. They gave me the crime ref no …. In hindsight I shouldn’t have done that as I can’t now go through my house insurrance.

Has anyone got any suggestions/ experiance that can help me

I’m not a criminal. Just a hardworking bloke who is prepared to scam my insurrance if at all poss. I know I shouldn’t write that, maybe it’s cos it’s just happened but I don’t know what else to do

    thanks again guys

    rich
