Banks don't even check the details (dates, amount in words/figures, or even signatures) on cheques of that little value, they're just cleared. So your problem is more likely to be whether or not the bank you pay it into will accept it, rather than whether it gets paid at the drawing bank…

They do, once had a cheque for £35 but words and numbers were different by a few quid, the lower amount of the two was credite but letter also sent, checking that the cheque was kosher.

generally sovereigns need to be in mint condition to be worth much more than the gold value, that means no dulling/flattening at all on the raised areas, no scratches. Try Lloyd Bennett at Symonds Yat, is a decent guy, he used to travel to a few markets.

Sorry Jennyh but have to disagree, GOsC although paid for by the profession, is not run for the professions benefit, but for public protection, as specified by the osteopaths act.

Anyway, all three professions now have protected title so don’t worry about my original post! Try and get a recomendation.

Osteopath, but a good practitioner from either of the three disciplines mentioned should be able to help or refer on. Osteopaths and chiropractors are statuatorly regulated, so are required by law to be registered with either the general osteopathic/chiropractic council, I think you need to check physios have mcsp after their name (member of chartered society physiotherapy), is that still the case Mrs Smee?

Mothertongue by Bill Bryson is a very informative read for those who want to improve their English pronunciation ;)

Coffeeking, english is hardly A language though is it, Welsh is a phonetic language with simple rules on pronunciation (as long as you learn the welsh alphabet), english is a hotch potch of several languages with bizarrely inconsistent rules!

Catfood, I woldn’t mind my saes friends pronouncing it co-ed, it’s when they can’t even be bothered to think of it not being an english word and presumably decide it’s code mis-spelt!

And while we’re on the subject, C-y-B the first word is NOT Code it is Coed, like coy but with a d at the end.

From an osteopathic perspective, and agreeing with gingerflash, 2cm is not that much, I very much doubt any surgeon woulf consider operating for that small a disrepancy. A orthotic lift may be necessary but I would first look at more treatment to restore mobility and function to the spine and pelvic area, a good physio, osteo or chiro should be able to help, all will have slightly different approaches – it may take a little trial and error to find what works in your case (obviously I think an osteo will be best but then I am biased….).
