The JD Power survey is filled in by middle aged men who buy cars as status symbols. I've just spent a shed load of cash on this car and its simply perfect in every way.
The warranty direct data is based on actual claims that have been made in relation to the Warranty. I would argue that this is more representative than JD Power survey as this is more customer satisfaction based.
Surf Mat where is your data from? This is from Warranty Direct the only one I would trust. Higher is worse lower is better. We seem to have a difference of opinion!
My wife has a Focus estate and I have a golf tdi estate. The Focus is better in every way. Handles better, more reliable, parts are cheaper, better spec for the cash. As somebody mentioned in a post from above if you want to make a statement that you can throw money away buy the Golf!
A4 estate same size as golf estate. A6 or Passat estate is the one to go for. Or what about a Touran with normal suspension. Bike will fit in the back no problem.
I think I'm right, in that not one regional development agency has generated anywhere near in growth what they cost to run to the Tax Payer. They seem a monumental waste of money. Cheaper not to have them.
Hated my 456 when I first built it up. Seemed really slow compared to my old giant yukon. Took about two months and some really hairy technical riding to get the point of the bike. It's more stable and composed a lot more comfortable. Slacker head angle and extra weight needed a bit more fitness to get the same performance speed wise out of it. Now I love it. It really is a Do It All Bike.
I changed back to deore steel cogs, problem solved! I really do think that the alloy rings stick to the rollers of the chain when it gets a bit of sh!t or dirt on the links. It's often the case that new rings stick and not worn ones. IE there is a bit more clearance between the teeth and the chain links, almost like a bedding in period. Who knows? Every scenario seems different.
If the car is standard then the air filter that it has is designed to provide enough air for maximum power. So you will be wasting your money.
If its modified ie flowed heads, cams, exhaust then they are the best filters you can get in my opinion. 20yrs modifying cars/rallying etc.
Don't get an HP we have had a load of issues with them melting the power on switch. Common fault apparently. The cooling fans struggle to circulate enough air around.
Better that the bolt bends and absorbs the shock than the mount or the frame. Is the shock set properly, ie it should be absorbing the shock rather than transmitting it to the bolt / mounting.
An original UR Quattro 20V. Quite a cheap car to buy but a pig to afford the running costs. Exhaust manifolds being the main culprit.
Really anything from the days of Group B Rallying.
I have to agree, this is telly at its worst. Bad enough watching the adults behaving like a bunch of tw*ts. Why can't kids be kids and have fun and enjoy their childhoods etc. Jumpers for goalposts and all that!
Don't mean to sound like a ****t but I would concentrate on making your house secure before anything else. The thought of some B#stard in my house where my kids are would really freak me out. Buy a cheaper car and more expensive doors and locks.
I did the same with RAC, threatened to leave and cancel my motor insurance and the price dropped from £150 to £100 for home start, recovery and breakdown for me and the missus for two cars. Still pricey.
Ah Hora the WRX is a good car but the engine won't be rebuilt, you'll need a petrol tanker following you and everybody knows the WRX is fast. Cost a lot to fix as well. Part of the pleasure of driving an older modified car is the look on the face of the guy you have just embarrased by your old pile of sh!t. I used to have an old Lotus Sunbeam with a Skip Brown Conversion 250+ BHP Approx. Nothing has come close to the enjoyment of blowing away Cossies, GTI's etc etc. Bit of a handful it was, fun always, scary as hell in the wet! Depends on what you want it for. Most fun I've had in a car was in my mates Mini Minus kit car, not that fast but great fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfuKI0B8qvc
Looking at just the engine build alone without the gearbox and I doubt you'd get any change from more than 6K. What can you get new now for 6 grand that could even come close to that, answer nothing!
Go for it. If you don't someone else will. I sold my Toyota Corolla GTI RWD Coupe(facelift) and have always regretted it. To buy a heap now would cost me 6 to 8k. To make matters worse the new owner rolled it a month after I sold it to him.
I don't have a beef with what qualification's somebody has, I know plenty of graduates who will never be an Engineer as long as they have a hole in their ars3. Conversely I know plenty of good time served guys who are superb at what they do. What I object to is everybody calling themselves Engineers when they work in IT FF's. Technician or Programmer yes maybe but Engineer. NO WAY.
On the Turning Away by Pink Floyd.
Sweet Child in Time Deep Purple.
Anything by the Stones but played by anybody else! For example, Sympathy for the Devil by GnR's
Interference Fit is what a designer calls two parts that he has designed to fit together that don't! IE Why wont this 20mm shaft not fit in the 20mm hole. Cos they are both the same size you Tw*t. I hope you have some Vaseline so the Doctor at A&E can remove the shaft from your Ar..
Designer = A failed engineer that can't be trusted on the shop floor!
A family friend is in the Freeman Hospital at the moment waiting for a Heart transplant. It's sad but true that the inference is that when the weather picks up the chances of a healthy heart coming in from a donor increases dramatically. IE Motorbike Crashes. If my Son ever comes home with a motorbike I'll save him the bother and smash it up before he can use it!
I can't see how BA can continue running a Premium Air Service when the competition are screwing BA to the wall on cost. I'm afraid the old days are long gone.
First time for two years that we've been asked to work Sat and Sun on probably the best two days of summer so far. Oh well can't grumble. Got to get this Economy going somehow.
Dilutey Orange juice mixed normally then 3 teaspoons of sugar and a pinch of salt per litre. Worked for me when the SiS has run out, can't really tell any difference.
During the goldrush in the Yukon to entertain the miners they used to organise fights between Bears and Lions. The Bear always won. It used to crush the skull of the Lion which is apparently quite thin. The Bear's bone density is far greater than the lion's. Bears are hard as OWT!
Buy a couple of chicken breasts flatten with a rolling pin. Wrap asparagus stalks and a little chopped garlic with the chicken breast. Then wrap in parma ham and brown quickly, season to taste. Then pop into oven for 20-30 mins or so. Chop half a red onion and soften in the pan that you browned the chicken breasts in. Add a glass of white wine and reduce. Add a chopped table spoon of tarragon to your reduction then add single cream or crème fraiche. Bring sauce up to temp then pour over the chicken wrapped in Ham with the asparagus. V Good!
Go for a good Corrado VR6, then sell it after a year and get your money back, then lament that its gone and weep because you'll never find another one that good again. Like I did!
Agree with ton. Protecting family comes first, second and third. Do unto them before they do unto you! If the kids are underage you can't realistically touch them but that doesn't stop you how shall we say having a quiet word with the father when no ones looking.
On ones own clamp is simple and works very well, make sure you get one with a brass shim rather than a cheap plastic one. The plastic ones compress and the clamp will slacken, mine did.
