Check the paint and the body for rust. Merc changed to water based paint around that time and had no end of bother with rust and rot. Took them a while to get it sorted. The auto’s are better, don’t think merc have made a decent manual to date.

That looks very nice, you’ll have a bonny car when you’re all done. Is it getting the TDi lump back in it or something a bit more fruity?

First port of call, check battery terminals are tight and check earths from battery. Check leads to starter. These can fatigue and snap in their terminals due to engine movement. Just cos things are powering up doesn’t mean the connection is good enough to crank it over. Can you hear the starter solenoid when the ignition is tried. Could it be sticking etc. Is it immobilised by accident?

Rallycross with the old GroupB cars was the height of motorsport for me. It seems that who ever has the best designer Cough( Adrian Newey ) will win the championship.

My son is a member for his tennis but we are not. He had to do a shark test which is a basic assessment so he could swim on his own. I think if your a member you could probably just sign them in but you would have to be with them in the pool till they do the test.

Even more annoying for us north of the M62 Border. At least the Scots and the Welsh have a voice! Stop moaning MTFU and get on with it. 😀

Useless hippy my friend was killed when he had just finished a 12hr night shift and drove head on into a articulated lorry he was 21 at the time. While I sympathise with what happened to you it does not mean that everything in life has a trivial effect. OP just having a vent over something that means a lot to him at the moment. Tomorrow is another day! 🙂
Would 2nd a visit to get some professional help .

He was their best player by a long way. Some mates were at Steve Harper’s testimonial and he was the best player on the pitch. He couldn’t understand why they didn’t have the same drive and passion he had. They should of kept Steve Bruce. Cracking manager. Martin O’Niell took them back a decade.

I wouldn’t have thought the wall thickness of the Ali where the bolt had pushed through must of been very thick to begin with for the bolt to push through. The steel bolt would of stripped the Ali thread first. I think you shouldn’t worry to much. There was no strength there to begin with if the bolt did that. If its 6mm drill through 5mm tap thread through and forget.

Edmundbyers to Blanchland then up to Slaley along to Rookhope then down Blanchland Moor to Edmundbyers on heather moorland singletrack for 2k. You can head over to Whitley Chapel and Hexham Common from Slaley. Probably the best natural trails in the area.

Bear Park up to the Stanley Incline then back through Esh Woods through the Farm at the top is a nice little circular route about 15 miles. Through Shincliffe round the back of Croxdale Hall then along the Weardale Way up to Brancepeth then back along to Bear Park. Lots of little winter routes around here. Not much Singletrack have to go out Blanchland way or Stokesley.

That railway line now goes from at least Washington to Bishop Auckland. It’s awful to walk on never mind ride. It would be great if they would just put a roller over it and open it up for Bikes officially. I think they took the track up because they were worried about theft of the rails. They are leaving it as is until 2015 when they will look at the viability of replacing the track or leaving as is.

Belmont Durham. Was that the filling station that was next to the old quarry opposite the Three Horseshoes? That was some time ago. Pass it on my way to work going to Sedgefield. Guy’s breeding huskies or something in there by the looks of it. Doctor Harrison has retired now I think.

This scheme was originally trialled in every school in Co Durham. My sons school being one of the schools. Now he has had a school dinner every lunchtime regardless. The take up for the poorer children was almost 100% when they were free, meaning that the crap they were fed in their packed lunches was down to cost. Surely we owe it to the kids to provide them with at least one nutritional meal a day. This is one of those schemes that could actually save money in the long run.

All I can add is adhesive for the tiles and grout to finish, the combined stuff is garbage in my humble opinion. You can tile on tiles but you have to break the glaze on the tile. I would personally always remove the old tiles so I could check the integrity of the walls I’m tiling on to.

One term of the tories to save money, sack everybody and get us out of the financial mire then two terms of labour to spend the saved money on services, health care, education and benefits. This system only fails when labour is kept on for a third term! Silly silly electorate.

After spending most of the weekend driving around South Yorkshire to find my Father in law a car I’ll gladly take the NE and all its foibles thank you very much. I know the riding is good but you still have to live and work there. Maybe we are all pessimists up here because the football is so bad!

Ive ran all season tyres on my mondeo with great results all yr round. Fit and forget. Better to have 4 all season tyres with a bias towards snow than two winter tyres on the front and normal ones on the back.

Do they still use the Audi diesel with the 5 cylinder lump. That was one of the best diesel engines ever made in my opinion. After having my mondeo tdci throw 3 injectors out i’m out of buying a diesel for a while.

Went up to see friends and family for a couple of weeks in northern Fife this summer next to Cupar, the place was heaving with farm machinery from morning to night and then through the night. Ah Pitormie strawberries the best I’ve ever tasted.

11yr old son gets £2/wk. He is expected to do some chores etc around the house. Mainly popping to the shop and loading unloading dishwasher and putting his clothes in the washing basket. He normally lets it accrue and then informs us to the penny how much we owe him when he wants something expensive.

If you asked them what nationality they were they would always say Borderer’s first then Scottish. Reminds me of that old Likely Lads sketch when Terry is talking about not liking Europeans then working his way North up the country to eventually his next door neighbour. We are a very stupid race.

My better half is from Newport on Tay. My grandparents are from the Borders (Kelso) and my other grandparents from Wales. I am 100% non English. I have lived in the North East all of my life. We visit Scotland twice a year to see family and friends. Not one of our friends or family has any time at all for Salmond or his party. I admire his stints on question time etc but it’s not hard to pick holes in anything any of our Politicians say or do. The most interesting fact is none of the families that live in England now would move back, under any circumstances to Scotland until it’s time to retire read into that going home to die. I have not heard of one instance of any of our friends and family that have moved here from Scotland to work and bring up their families not being welcomed with open arms. It’s just not an issue. I wish the same could be said for friends of mine that have gone to work in Scotland. I think it’s got worse because of rhetoric from Salmond.

Hi Don can I ask roughly what area you grassed and roughly what the cost was per Sq M including hardcore and sharp sand was. Cheers.

Ok maybe substitute artificial grass for astro turf. I don’t want a lookalike lawn I am not trying to pass it off as grass, it’s to play sports on. I am not averse to a bit of gardening, this is not to save time or effort or even money as I think relaying turf would be a hell of a lot cheaper. On a NW facing plot surrounded by houses with a layer of topsoil 10mm thick sitting on boulder clay my choices are severely limited.

Same thing happened one day on a ride to me. It’s amazing how quickly you can unclip dismount and get the helmet off, and it proper hurts as well. Wasps are little buggers.

It’s good to see some actual examples. I don’t think it looks to bad. If I could get the real stuff to bloody grow l would but it’s just to shaded and with female dog wee burning holes in it I’ve got no chance. Thanks for the links I’ll have a look and cost it out. Probably work out being 24ft long by 12ft wide.
