I have a very long back could you measure the effective top tube length for me on the canyon, it just has the actual tt length on the website, it looks a bit short hard to tell from the website.

Funny I was just looking on the canyon site at the Al 29er 5.9. £699.00. Seems a lot of bike for the money.

Dr Marten every time. Super quality and comfort and they look reasonably smart, only criticism is they are a bit on the heavy side.

I would say if you can’t move to get him into the best state school then think about it carefully. The fees are only a part of the cost. School teams and trips etc will add a massive lump to this. If we had not got our son into the two best state Schools in Durham (in my biased opinion) I would have put him in a private school and moved into the catchment area and waited for a place. We were very lucky. You don’t have to settle for the local comprehensive any more. Both schools that our son attended were not in his catchment area but they had places and we drove him there and picked him up. It’s a pain but it’s the best thing we’ve ever done.

Clarkson and Wilman own the production company that produce TopGear. I don’t think it’s cut and dried who owns what and who has the rights to what. It would be very easy to transfer the format to any other channel and let the BBC keep the name. Like it or not Clarkson has made TG his own. My 12 yr old is very miffed it’s not on on Sunday. After all that is the target audience. One of lifes pleasures settling down on a Sunday night with the boy to watch it and hear him cackle and laugh out loud at their merry japes!

Exercise at that age should just be play. Don’t worry about walking him just yet. Get him used to lead work in the garden. Part of the dogs development is to go through a period of extreme anxiety. If they get spooked at this age it can affect them through their adult life. Be firm but fair and just reassuring when he gets spooked. Never lose your temper or show anger at his behaviour. He’ll come round just take it slowly. Best of luck.

I looked at both the mark 1 and 2. In the end I bought a modified mk 1 not by choice mind. It looked bog standard but had a host of stuff done 230 bhp re map etc. Very quick car in a straight line with a poor chassis. I don’t think the mark 2 is much better. Mine was always throwing up engine management light warnings, the mk2 has even more sensors and the dash can look like a Christmas tree. It’s usually nothing nasty but it becomes a bit of a pain. If your handy with a labtop Vagcom diagnostic software is your friend. I think they are chain came engines and can have a few problems like most manufacturers get on the forums and make sure you know what you’re buying. Estates will hold their value better. Performance wise not much comes close for the money and the economy is great for a petrol just buy the best you can based on condition and check the history with skoda if you can. Briskoda is the best resource.

I am a biker. I have a yeti 2.0TDI 4×4. I went from a scudo van to a mondeo estate Octavia vrs then the yeti. Nothing compares to the Scudo for biking. The mondeo was great bike in the back complete with seats down. A bit of a faff but okay. Bikes on a roof rack for the yeti. I’m 6ft 4 and can lift them on no bother. Sounds daft but a shorter friend of mine uses a small set of steps to load his on his yeti, works great. For everything else the yeti is just a really good all rounder. Plenty of room in the cockpit for our kids with a dog in the boot. Superb slightly higher driving position and the handling and ride even on 17’s is very good. 4×4 has a different rear suspension set up so handles really well. Small enough for the wife to drive, she hated driving the mondeo. You get used to packing the yeti differently, it’s definitely worth a test drive, I love the higher driving position the most. I would find it hard to go back to a lower car.

I think it helps if you have been unfortunate enough to have owned one. I’ve owned two one a 309 great car and a 306 diesel. The 306 would un alarm itself and wind all the windows down in the middle of the night. When it wasn’t being repaired it was great, one week out of every four it spent in the garage.

I thought Mer was more to restore old and faded paint if your car is new just use a good shampoo and then wax not polish. Polish is slightly abrasive so normally once a year if needed. I can recommend anything by Maguiars.

These dogs are not the most agile. Most 4x4s will be two high for these to jump into when they get on a bit. The ideal car if I had any of the dogs mentioned would be an old style Alhambra/Galaxy with the 130 tdi. 2000kg towing limit and plenty of room for the dogs with the rearmost seats out. Can’t comment on the new models.

Don’t laugh now I love The Bends but for me it has to be City to City by Gerry Rafferty. Not a bad song on that album but Right down the line gets me every time. As for song writing craft he can’t be beaten.

I have lived in the North East all my life. Makes no difference what anyone votes up here the political landscape is so heavily entrenched with the pits and ship building that Labour could skin new born babies alive and people would still vote Labour because their parents and grandparents have always voted Labour. I suppose my values would be traditional Lib Dem in principle but unfortunately that’s not their core value any more. They have tried to take up the middle ground between Labour and Tory Policy.

With my Yeti I ignore the change up Arrow as it’s wrong most of the time. I will only cruise in 6th at about 1750 rpm and above. The DPF light hasn’t come on once in 3000 miles so far. Much happier in 4th and 5th in and around town. MPG is about the same 42ish, I was getting 30ish out of the VRS pootling about. You still have to drive these cars and not pootle about at low revs looking for every MPG.

For the Skoda 1.9 tdi just after the first cambelt and water pump change I would say. These are only 105 bhp but that makes the clutch last a bit longer. Skoda will do more miles than the ford and its not common rail so a bit more reliable at higher miles.

Enjoy, my Yeti has the bluetooth media sat nav thingy! If your doing 25k on a motorway I would always go for comfort and economy mixed with a nice interior. Can’t go wrong with a new Golf.

If somebody kept calling you English when you’re Scottish all the time like most pundits did I would of felt the same. Think he ran out of Steam in the end pure and simple. First three sets were epic.

As said earlier 100K or 10 yrs which ever comes first. I had my 1.8 petrol done at 98k at 9 yrs. It’s worth doing they are great cars, probably the best hatchback of the last 20 yrs. Nothing of that era came close in my opinion.

I’m 6ft 4″ Subaru cockpit is way to small and very narrow due to transmission tunnel on a legacy maybe different in a Forester. I’ve had my Yeti 4 months nearly. Does everything well and the biggy is my wife will drive it if needed because it’s not to big. She would never drive the Mondeo. The petrol Foresters are thirsty, mid 20’s if your lucky that killed it for me. Resale best in class for the Yeti as well 68% after 3 yrs approx, nothing else comes close.

OK here goes! My Yeti has a tyre pressure monitoring system. It works using the abs sensors. When the tyre deflates the rolling diameter changes. This is picked up by the abs sensor and triggers the warning. It drops to about 20 psi before it triggers. I think all new models from 2015 have to have TPMS so for example a focus doesn’t because it’s already in production. Crazy rule!

Increase in National Insurance if they could guarantee that every penny would go to the frontline of the NHS. Oh and never ever repeat the PFI funding nightmare of our NHS.

Stop messing about and just get a Yeti. I know they are expensive but they hold their value, nothing else holds it’s value better. On average 69% after 3 yrs from new. I hummed and haaa’d for months then got one. They are very very good. Handles really well for a car that sits so high. I get about 43mpg out of mine on fast A roads going to work. 2.0 TDI 4×4. Build quality is excellent. I would have no reservations about buying one second hand. Would probably go for the 1.8 petrol turbo 4×4.

3 of mine failed at 110k on my mk3 mondeo tdci. I got rid. They can fail because of age etc but they can also fail if the pump is breaking down. These are expensive as well. FWIW I haven’t heard of a positive repair on these at high milage. They never seem to run the same ie like new. Just my experience.

Couple of big bags of rock salt in the rear for added traction and then you can spread a bit if you get stuck. Never had an auto with 4wd but snow mode was basically 2nd gear with a damped throttle.

Just check the clutch and flywheel, only real week point with this engine, will it be covered under warranty etc.

Some people may flame me for this but now I think that dogs are social animals that live in a pack. You are part of that pack. Shutting them away at night away from you is not the way to go in my opinion. Ours sleeps in the corner of our room at night and is no bother. She will take herself off to bed after her last walk way before we go. Crate training is a fairly new concept used by breeders and people that work with animals and transport them around. I’m sure it works well but the crate can get in the way especially if its a big dog. Not applicable in your case. Best advice would be firm but fair and consistent. Don’t over exercise when young, play is the best when their puppies and decent quality food. Dogs are ace , never been without one in 40yrs.

The Saudis are pushing the price down to try and finish off a lot of the small suppliers that need to get circa 80 dollars a barrel.

Oil much cheaper than lpg. You won’t own the tank either for lpg. You must be mad thinking of changing to Lpg.

That’s either a very plush leather dog bed or he’s on the sofa already. You have failed miserably already and he has the upper hand on the first night. Good luck you’re going to need it!

    He is sweet though!

Worked in the oil Industry for 15 yrs. Production will slow and the emphasis will shift to research and development. Looking for new fields etc. As soon as the price rises again the emphasis will switch back to production and so the cycle will start again. I don’t really associate Aberdeen with oil production as such more of a centre of operations for purchasing and shipping components globally. We have seen a slight drop in the order book but nothing major yet.

In your shoes I’d stay away from a diesel and go for a 1.8 petrol avensis estate. Very reliable comfy and plenty of space.

One of the fastest cars I’ve ever been in was a friends Skip Brown modified Lotus Sunbeam. Early 90’s I think. God it was brutally quick, throw you back in the seat fast. Don’t think many modern standard saloons would be as quick as a standard Lotus Sunbeam. Just seen a nice HS Chevette for sale, must resist!

Great news you’ve got it back. I had a F reg 900 T16 Aero. Loved that car, it ran till 285K then it started to rust at the bottom of the window pillars. So I sold it to a lad who worked for the Forestry Commission and he was going to rebuild it. Still got the Official SAAB 900 Workshop Manual just in case.

What’s even more frightening is when you are a passenger in a seriously fast left hand drive car being driven in this country on the left. The bit that is going to hit first if your driver gets it wrong is your side!!!!!

Luckily I was in a Lancia Delta Integrale at the time and God that was quick.

Still did the 5 pence 50 pence dance though!
