Renton I haven’t read the whole post, are you using a dropper? If not have you tried a different seatpost with a bit more flex or even a smaller diameter with a shim. I used a carbon one on my old 456 and it took a lot of harshness out of the back end, and those frames are bloody harsh.
Inbred456Free MemberI work in the oil and gas industry. I was very sceptical about the claims. Spoke to an engineer for shell. Fuel came up as a topic. I raised it. He was adamant about the claims. The additives are mixed in the tankers when the fuel is added from the refinery. It’s not just about the mpg and extra power. It’s about the lubrication for the fuel system. The detergents to keep the injectors clean etc. I have used V power or BP ultimate ever since. What difference over a week is it, a bottle of wine. I do know I filled up my perfectly working Mk3 Mondeo one week with a tank full from Murco and it never ran properly since that fill up. Eventually I scrapped it with a knackered pump and injectors! Coincidence who knows. I will never ever use cheap fuel again from a supermarket or so called budget garage.
Inbred456Free MemberI put some Schwalbe hurricane touring tyres on my 29er. Bloody heavy. Bike felt hard to accelerate and very sluggish. Going back to the nineline WTB’s as soon as funds permit!
Inbred456Free MemberThis isn’t strictly a calorie restricted diet is it, it’s more a carb restricted diet. I eat more dairy and eggs. I am trying to fuel myself with fat rather than carbohydrates. I plateaued for a short while then started to lose weight again. It may have been an increase in exercise that kicked started it again I don’t know. The hardest bit has been not eating after teatime till breakfast. Takes some will power that does. Not hunger just boredom.
Inbred456Free MemberRenton your body and metabolism will adapt and you will plateau. The trick is to keep exercising at a steady rate where your fat reserves can fuel you. The more weight you lose the easier it is for your metabolism to fuel you from fat. I always feel a little ropey when I start riding with mates who tear off at the start of a ride who are fuelled by carbs. After 2-3 miles I settle down and I have never bonked yet to the point where they really struggle when the carbs run out. That’s when you get payback for your struggle at the start. The fitter you get the less you feel it at the start. You will reach a point when you will reach a comfortable weight. That’s when it gets tricky to maintain the weight you are happy at. I went from 20+ stone to below 15. 6ft 4″ so I hid the weight well. I’m now 15-7lb and happy at that. I’ve increased my muscle mass a bit. I put weight back on but my clothes got slacker. My weight loss was over 6 months. People thought I was ill! Meat and veg and dairy no sugar. We survived for thousands of years with no wheat or sugar. No reason to start eating that crap now.
Inbred456Free MemberThe thing about going low carb is your hunger cravings are diminished. The more carbs and sugar you eat the more you crave. I have never felt hungry once since going low carb. Make sure you eat plenty fibre and protein. Protein will fill you up.
Inbred456Free MemberPut the new one on the back and put the rears on front. 2k is nothing really.
Inbred456Free MemberI don’t think anybody has a right to light regarding hedges and boundaries. Put yourself in your neighbors shoes and agree a reasonable height to keep good neighbourly relations. Not worth the hassle falling out over a hedge.
Inbred456Free MemberDo not skip breakfast. Porridge slow release energy. Sets you up for the day and kick starts your metabolism. Far to many carbs and sugar in your list. Eat more protein to feel full. Cut down on the sugar. Fat is not the problem sugar is. Don’t eat after your last evening meal. It is perfectly acceptable to feel hungry. You won’t die or fade away and breakfast is only one sleep away.
Inbred456Free MemberFinish line red. Apply to links spin the cranks wipe off. Job done. Wipe chain after ride reapply repeat.
Inbred456Free MemberDonated mate. Good luck for tomorrow. Makes no difference where it is.
Inbred456Free MemberYour money would be better spent on a slimming world membership unless you’re already a racing snake! All the lads at work spend a fortune on carbon wheels and super light weight bits and bobs. Most of them would be better off riding more and getting fitter.
Inbred456Free MemberiPhone se 32gb with 5gb data unlimited texts and calls 25/month on EE.
Inbred456Free MemberDue to a propensity to have high blood sugar levels if not careful my daily food regime is as follows.
Breakfast consists of my own mix of multi seed high fibre porridge with half a banana chopped prunes and blueberries.
10am snack full fat Greek yogurt with some seeds and nuts.
Lunch lump of chicken and salad ( no carbs)
Tea is meat and veg ( no white rice pasta or potatoes) then nothing till next breakfast. I do eat a lot of eggs these days. No cakes or biscuits and nothing with added sugar only naturally occurring sugars. Probably eat more fat than I ever have but not hydrolysed fat or processed with sugar. Cut my carbs down to about 25% of what they where. Lost 5 stone very quickly and seem to be able to maintain it. For me it’s carbs and sugar that are the problem. You can’t exercise off a crap diet.Inbred456Free MemberSeems to me looking back over the news for the last few days the Tories have pulled a blinder using UKIP as a vehicle to ensure Brexit whilst deflecting the blame from themselves then picking up the pieces to push Brexit through on behalf of the electorate and making UKIP a political irrelevance in the process. They are even going to get die hard labour voters to vote for them in this election to ensure Brexit is pushed through. What a set of numptys we are! I think it’s called playing the long game.
Inbred456Free MemberCome to Durham as said earlier. Loads of good restaurants and pubs. Plenty of hotels and B&B’s.
Inbred456Free MemberMass airflow sensor just after the air box. Be very careful. It’s a very fine wire that has a set resistance. The resistance changes as air passes over it. They get clogged with crap from the egr system. If it is clogged get some spray solvent cleaner and give it a blast. You can use a cotton bud but be very gentle. Worth a try and won’t cost a fortune.
Inbred456Free MemberOur Chocolate Lab developed fits as she got older. Seems common for older labs. Very distressing when it happens but I think ours knew little about them. We got a suppository for ours if she was having a bad one. Never needed to use it. They only lasted a couple of minutes at most. You can get medication but we chose not to. It has too many side effects and changed her character. Try not to worry to much they seem to cope with it better than we do.
Inbred456Free MemberLet’s just get one thing sorted out here. The nasty Tories are in charge of taking us out of Europe because we were too Stupid to Vote remain. End of. They are not dragging us out against our will. Brexit will take as long as it takes. There will be no hard or soft Brexit, it will just be Brexit. There is no tried or tested method for this process. It has never been done before.
Inbred456Free MemberYou could try a torx head Allen key. It may need a tap to knock it in the rounded off hole. You may be able to drill the head off and hopefully the threaded bit of the bolt will slacken and you will be able to unscrew it. What is the thread size?
Inbred456Free MemberMy last On One experience was 3 days before Xmas when building up my Sons inbred. The rear break mount was welded on so far out that when I put the Calliper on it locked the disc solid. Luckily I took the frame to work put it on the CMM worked out how far out it was then made a bespoke adapter to straighten up the calliper. Apart from that the bike is great! The earlier 456 frame was perfect so think QC has dropped quite a bit.
Inbred456Free MemberThe NCAP is due to the fact it doesn’t have inbuilt stability control. It has all the crash zones and airbags that any other car has. If I wanted a cheap 4WD I’d rather have one of these than a land rover.
Inbred456Free MemberYou need a cleaner with an enzyme in to break down the protein in the vomit. If you can get the carpet out all the better. You need to clean under the carpet. It will have seeped through. Normal cleaners are worse than useless in this case. I use a George vac with some old cleaner with enzyme in it.
Inbred456Free MemberI’ve been considering a gravel bike or adventure road bike, whatever you want to call them for about a year now. My Trail 29er cannondale with 2.0″ schwalbe hurricane tyres is used mainly for bridle ways cycle paths and 3 ply tarmac. I can cover up to about 50 miles at a push. It’s comfy but heavy. My no 1 priority for one of these do it all bikes would be comfort every time over speed. That and the need for a large frame 60cm approx.
Inbred456Free MemberVintage guitars are great. Check out Dave Simpson on YouTube. He has done a lot of reviews on these. Problem is he could make a plank a wood sound good.
Inbred456Free MemberThat Mondeo is a good shout but I would want roof rails on an estate. Still good value though. I think the Mazda is a nicer looking car though.
Inbred456Free MemberBloody link didn’t work. I tell you what that Mazda 6 looks a lot of car for 5k. If you can get an auto they have a proper auto box so no DMF. What’s not to like. When my current deal with my Yeti ends in October I may well go back to a used car. This thread has sparked a lot of interest in just what you can get for a few K.
Inbred456Free MemberI have 1 3×8 2 3×9 and 1 3×10 no intention to change just yet.
Inbred456Free MemberPerchy that is very well put. I am fortunate in that I have never suffered from depression and find it hard to relate to people that do in so much as what they require from me from an understanding point of view. My better half has suffered from depression in the past and that analogy puts it into some kind of perspective.
Inbred456Free MemberI’ve got some fleegles, they just seem to crank my wrists at the wrong angle. At that price though it’s not a problem if they don’t suit.
Inbred456Free MemberNewcastle fan here. They are making hard work of it though. Glad in a way for Chris and Brighton. Always thought he did a good job with the toon and was treated pretty poorly.
Inbred456Free MemberWhat our local parish council does now is spray every bit of dog shit including the crap left in bags fluorescent purple. It really highlights literally the amount of poo left. I must pick up 2 or 3 bags a week left by people that haven’t bothered to pick it up or come back for it on there walks. What they do in Wales is to use a stick to flick it off the paths. I prefer bagging and binning.
Inbred456Free MemberI’m talking about modern engines post 2010 etc. I think the golden era for engines was the 90’s- 00’s. I had Audis Saabs Toyotas and hondas with well over 150k on them. No problems at all. Now all I hear is oil control problems. Engines drinking oil etc. Emission standards are stressing engines to the point of failure once they get a few years old.
Inbred456Free MemberThe manufacturer is only interested in making sure the car lasts long enough to fulfill its warranty commitments. Gone are the days where the car can sail over 100k with ease. Cars are designed to run with minimal coolant and oil so they are lighter so they can fudge their emissions etc. More and more stress is put on the turbos timing chains oil control rings etc. Lease cars with 20k service intervals are passed on to the public after 3 yrs so any problems are passed on down the line. Incidentally my evil polluting Yeti gets an oil change every 10k as per its dealer schedule because it’s a lease. If I’d bought it outright it would be on variable servicing. Read into that what you will!
Inbred456Free MemberI’m 6ft4″ and struggle with fit. The biggest problem for me is the seat position from the centre line of the pedal axis. Everything else I can adjust. I have a long thigh bone and even with a layback post I always seem to be pushing my behind over the back of the saddle. You will only really find this a problem if you have had a long enough test over a few miles. With a 38″ inseam I would be very careful.
Inbred456Free MemberI use these on my 29er XC bike.

Very comfy great position for hands. If you come off they don’t hurt so much.
