From what I’ve read we don’t have the infrastructure to all start charging electric cars no where near. A 13A supply just wont cut it for a decent fast charge. And if we all start doing it the grid wont support it. It can barely cope when people put the kettle on during the ad breaks on tv.

Go every year to a friends static in Marian  Glas. Love it. Rhosneigr beach for surfing and body boarding kite surfing etc. It isn’t to commercialised. Great pubs and food. Quite a slow paced place. Lots of walks and and not far from Snowdonia. The beaches are fantastic especially Lligwy. If I could retire anywhere it would be Anglesey.

We had an apprentice who had been too at least six funerals one year for his grandma!   When challenged that people usually only have two he said “yeah it’s hit us really hard.”

Going Low carb isn’t a diet it’s a change of  mindset. Once you stop eating carbs there are no cravings. You feel generally much better with higher energy levels. Stable blood sugar with no crashes. It’s easy to maintain. You become lean, burn fat much faster it’s a win win. Got to be better than peeing about counting points or calories. Just cut the carbs and increase your fibre greens, protein and fat a bit. Greek yogurt has become my go to pudding with a few seeds and berries.

My take on this for what its worth being a cyclist and dog owner. If you see a dog and its not under control slow down or stop until the hazard has passed. I know its a ball ache but some owners are just 🔔ends. Its not the animals fault. Take a deep breath and carry on your way. The worst are runners with headphones in running up the centre of the paths!

Once they find away to stabilise magnesium in a battery, lithium ion is dead in the water and the petrol engine will follow the day after.

Magnesium is very energy dense and readily available.

It’s just a matter of time.

Interesting to read people’s thoughts and results. Having been through this and losing about 5ish stone my philosophy is quite simple. We survived as a species for thousands of years eating green stuff and meat. Refined carbs as in wheat so bread pasta also white rice are a relatively new food stuff for us as humans. I don’t think we have evolved the capability to process these properly yet. I have probably reduced my carb intake to a quarter of what it was and these are veg based mainly so high fibre. I found it essential to up my  protein, so more lean chicken fish and a decent steak once a week. Eggs are great. This isn’t a diet it’s a way of life.  One piece of advice I would offer is to do more strength work and try and maintain muscle mass. Essential as we get older.

A work colleague has just got rid of a 2014 S3 at a substantial loss due to reliability problems. Failed injectors damaging both lamda sensors. 1.2k to put right. 2 months out of warranty. Car nearly caught fire because the Audi garage didn’t put a clip back on the fuel rail and car starts spraying petrol over hot engine. Last straw was the 4wD failing to engage when the snow came last month. Oh how we laughed as we pushed him up the very slight incline up to work. It’s not 4yrs old yet!

Traded in for a Mercedes A250 AMG.

Ps on his fathers VW Up they had to take the head off to safely change the plugs! That was an expensive service!

Most reliable car I’ve ever had was a Ford Focus  .

Good luck been their done it. Pleased with the results. Lost about 5 stone. Easy to maintain as well. My carbs consist mainly of veg. No pasta bread, potatoes or pastry. No added sugar. Have upped my protein a bit. Don’t feel hungry no hunger pangs.

I have only used a chain cleaner once. Total waste of time. Wipe off excess crud oil and ride. Makes no difference to how long the chain lasts.  If anything cleaning all the dirt out of the barrels and links makes it worse.

I would think it’s probably the top strut mount. They can seize up and squeak after a time. It may just need releasing.

Clutch is a big job on these needing special Honda tooling. They don’t have a DPF which is a good or bad point depending on your point of view. It will probably need suspension parts looking at, at some point. Timing chains can give problems at higher mileage’s. I would be more worried about them than the clutch or DMF.

Second SEBO. Got ours off a friend who has a carpet cleaning business. It literally wipes the floor with a Dyson. One motor for the brush and one for the suction. It was about 10 years old when we got it 6 years ago! We also have a Dyson. I hate how the hand tool is part of the handle. It’s the worst design I’ve ever seen and a total pig to use. Form over function.

Mazda are one of the few manufacturers at the moment to make proper reliable torque converter auto’s in smaller cars. I have a dsg in a Fabia 1.2 110bhp hatch. It’s ok at the moment but it will go back in a years time so couldn’t really comment on longevity. Plenty of horror stories about them and Fords powershift.

If it’s at idle sounds more like the Mass airflow sensor. Give it a clean with some spray solvent cleaner. They are very fragile be careful.

We’ve had our first Xmas at home for about 10 yrs. FIL is here. He’s pretty good to be honest apart from being a fully paid up member of UKIP and banging on all the time about politics. That I can cope with but not having descriptive voice text on all the Xmas telly. He’s deaf not blind. Man walks into shop. We know that because we can see it FFS. Do you want subtitles on “no this is fine thanks” ?

Just go for a ride. Tweak your grips and bars and shifters until they are comfy. Get your saddle position right. Height fore and aft etc. Play around with your fork and shock until it suits your weight and style of riding. There is no shortcut ride adjust repeat.
Above all have fun and don’t overthink it.

As has been said get your vitamin d levels checked. You may need a supplement. Certain foodstuffs when eaten together can help with vitamin D absorption.

Cross Climates are good summer tyres that happen to have a pattern that works in snow. A good multi season tyre has a softer compound that stays more pliable in colder temperatures and more sipes, that’s what I would go for.

Sweet pots have more fibre than white potatoes so take longer to digest. Better for stabalising my blood sugar. Portion size also plays a big part. I still eat carbs just made up from veg mainly, not wheat or sugar based. It works for me, weight has been steady for a year now. 6ft 4″ was over 20 st down to just over 15 so still not a racing snake but i’ll take that. At 47 trying to build muscle and maintain it is the hardest bit.
As for choccy I go for the Lindt 90% stuff. So much cocoa in that theres no room for sugar!

I’ve been low carb as in veg but no spuds, sweet potato instead. Reduced bread as in whole meal only and about 80% less. No pasta or white rice etc. I’ve been doing this for two years now. It’s become kind of normal. I don’t really want heavy carbs now. I do have the odd bit of cake or a scone but find them to sweet. It’s still early days for you. The odd treat won’t make much difference.

With your deposit over 3 years your forking out about £18.5 K in total. Does your PCP include servicing and breakdown? 17k a year is quite generous mileage wise but that is a fair chunk of cash every month. I wouldn’t feel too sorry for the dealer. Nice car though!

I would never buy an ancient car with low mileage. As others have said find one half it’s age and don’t worry about mileage.

There is some awesome tech speak on here. Upskill is training isn’t it?
Firefighting dealing with day to day problems? Shallow skill set lacks experience?

This is not out of the ordinary for most businesses these days.

Find somebody with the right attitude who is reasonably intelligent then train them to the required level.

Well I will be remembering both my Grandads and of course the other brave men and women doing their duty. One of my Grandads was a dispatch rider delivering mail and messages on the front on a motorbike. A kinder gentler man you couldn’t find. The other a career soldier that got to rank of Major. Hard as nails he was. I don’t need a Remembrance Day to honour their memory. If people don’t want to remember that’s fine. If people want to wear a poppy that’s also fine. Why do we feel the need to force people to decide if they are for or against all the time.

Second the 1.8 mondeo mk3 estate. Plenty about, very reliable chain cam engine. As said a bit underpowered but they just run and run.

My Aunty got some humane traps caught two and carried them to the bottom of the garden. It was middle of winter and -5°C with a foot of snow. They were still there in the morning frozen solid!

Rake is the angle (sometimes referred to as clearance)to the cutting face normally for machine tools. In this instance it is the angle to the base or former for your mould. Imagine a pyramid. The mould would lift off the pyramid once formed because the sides are raked. If they had a negative rake like a diamond, the mould would be unable to be released vertically off the former.

For me it would be Jim Clark. He could out drive anybody in any vehicle. He didn’t need to bully anybody he was just on another level. Of the recent bunch it’s hard not to acknowledge Lewis’s ability. The number of Poles etc.

I’m a bimbler, I only have one speed. The amount of Lycra clad warriors who think the trail is there own personal race track and wip past me on the flat and downhill “passing on the right” they shout, only to be passed back on the long climbs. ****ts all of them!
    Hahahaha.
It would never spoil my day though!

Agree with a lot above. My Dad had a hell of a childhood. So I make a lot of allowances for him. He was ultra strict and found it hard to show any love. Our relationship is now better as he gets older.
Find another accountant straight away. It seems to me that he requires your attention be it positive or negative, a bit like a child. Don’t fall out with him just pull back a bit. Don’t engage with any negativity from him. Praise the good ignore the bad like you would with a toddler. Sounds simplistic but your roles are reversing and you are becoming the one who will be caring for him over time.

I think the Falklands has one of the most sophisticated air defence systems in the world now. I doubt much could get through to be honest. I think Argentina has enough on its plate at the minute without worrying to much about the Falklands.

Leather boots tend to be a little heavier and take a bit of breaking in to get the leather flexible. Synthetic lighter and comfy from the off. As said above Miendl are fab. My walking shoes have not been off my feet for 3 yrs. They do wide fit as well.
