Quite interested in this too, especially as they’ve just tacked on another £3 per month, keeping their annual 10% increase trend. We don’t even have a own a handset!

Are there any other providers worth looking at? (Sky is out, as we’re renting and can’t put up a dish)

Yeah, it’s 105 miles each way from home, so in 2 minds about it as well. I think a lot of people are in the same boat – turnout might be pretty low.

Good ride Will, when you came by on lap 3 I was in such a hole that I could only just watch you ride away. Pleased that I dug myself out to come from 12th to 6th in the last 2 laps.
Despite first appearances, the course was great – nice to have some proper mud too!

On a similar note, how many bikes (29er hardtails or CX bikes) can you fit in the boot space (rear seats up) with wheels off and seatposts out if necessary?
Do they fit neatly either lengthways or sideways?
I can see fork/handlebar height might be a problem.

Dieppe to Calais is a nice trek.
It’s 200km and we did it in a day (report here) but you could easily break it up into a few legs.

We’ve also done the parallel journey on the English coast (Brighton – Dover) and the French side was notable for its friendliness, courteous drivers and relaxed feel.

It certainly seems dangerous to me

Put down the grinder and walk away!

No way I’d be going anywhere near a 205mm grinder without a guard, much less horizontally at waist height.

As someone who works with GRPs of various types daily, my definite preference is cutting actions which don’t produce so much dust/particles – could you consider using a guillotine or shears rather than the grinder, or better yet, cutting to length under more controlled conditions?

Get some tubes with removable presta cores, and the appropriate extenders.
Remove core from tube, and put it in extender – much better way of doing it.

Dead easy – it’s a very common route for cyclists
Walton Lane, then over Walton Bridge and follow the river east to Hampton Court, up through Bushy Park, Teddington and into Twickenham.
Should take about 30 mins, depending how far into Twickenham you need to go.

Nightline is probably the best for reliable ROI deliveries

@jambalaya You’re making it sound like buying and renting out a property for profit is some sort of philanthropic pursuit for the greater good of society!
Without buy-to-let landlords inflating the market,a lot of younger people (myself included) could afford to buy and not need to rent at all.
It’s bad enough competing with the first time buyers of my own generation for suitable housing without previous generations squeezing us out of the market altogether.

Completely normal I’d say, given that most cx racers are doing minimal volume but sustaining a very high intensity workload since September.

In an ideal world, I’d manage to do one 4-hour steady/tempo ride during the week to keep the legs ticking over, but like most other people I work full time so the before/after work sessions tend to be short and sharp.

What I’ve done the last few years is take a week completely off after the last race, then spend two weeks doing 100-130km spins every Saturday and Sunday with two or three 2-hour sessions in the darkness during the week – follow this with a longer (150-170km) ride on the third week and I’m usually back to where I left off in August, even if it takes a bit of grovelling to get there. I don’t know why, but doing that longer ride is usually what gets my legs firing again

Oldgit, did the guy run up the first (steep) bank, remount at the top and then try to ride up the second one, in the middle of the first lap melee? I don’t remember seeing anyone riding up the steepest one on the first lap of the vets, so I’m assuming that’s what he did…
If so, he’s a bigger fool than we thought, and made completely the wrong decision in the heat of the moment.

I’ve got a video on my phone of the Juniors on that section which will eventually upload to Youtube.

It’s ‘cross – if you want to have a clean line at riding something, train harder and get off the start line quicker – else the person in front has right of way, whether they’re riding, running or salsa dancing around the course.
Choosing to ride a line when people in front of you are running and will obviously block your progress, is just stupid.
    Race-craft, innit?

Front end is definitely Deng Fu, but the rear wishbone is different to any of their road frames – but very similar to their FM059 disc cross frame
