I had trouble with my old Disco washers.
If I poked in the end & got what was blocking it away it would work until it found its way back to the orifice again.
If you can get to the delivery tube, suck back with a syringe (or your mouth like I did) to actually remove said blocker.
Depending on how sophisticated the mechanisms are, you might need to do this as you press the “Squirt” button to get the washer up & open.

    Good luck!

    I use an Oxford Aqua V 20.
    Another Hi-vis drybag.
    Comfortable & hose-down-able.
Was good on the motorbike & now good on the MTB to work.

    Lysander is a 1/32 scale.
My preferred scale. You can scratch build a good bit of stuff into them.
Here is revell’s Sopwith Camel. Rigging done with an elastic thread. Makes it a bit easier & less fragile.
    Camel.

Old 1/28 scale. Full of scratch detailing that cannot be seen.

    Matchbox 1/32 Lysander.

Did this one for my Dad as he’s into the war-time espionage.

2003 Trek Fuel. With the carbon seat stays.

Bought the frame off here years ago. Rode it, sold it, bought it back.

Thought “I’ll just ride it round to check out the components then put them on Mrs imp’s bike.”

Never happened. Been riding it ever since. Now commuting on it (part XC).

    Love it!

My couple of local loops are from Ufton using the Green lane to the canal to the disused rail track to the canal to the green lane & back. Nothing special but its OK.

The other is from the top of Edgehill. round through Rattly & Hornton. This is quite nice.

    Get a map & take a look.

Compressors are noisy as hell if the standard piston type. Might be a problem or not.

I got a noiseless one – Like a fridge compressor – for my Airfixing.

I really fancy going over on bikes & doing a bit of a 4 day  tour. British/Canadian / Pegasus bridge one year , American the next.

Me & 3 not-very-bikey mates, Anyone done similar or have any pointers to info to help me get this going?

Sorry for hijack – I got a bit excited!

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.
…And I’ve infected my three kids with it too!

Some films I love so much I keep putting off watching them hoping for some kind of amnesia to kick in.
Lord of the Rings, Alien/s, Minority report.

    I’ll recommend a triumph, too.
    2000 Sprint RS.
They’re dirt cheap & great commuter. 55mpg. Fast enough by most standards. Comfortable. Durable if they have had a bit of love.
eBay shows £1600 to 2500. The £1600 looks pretty good too.

I had trouble with some Specialized SPD shoes. It was the insoles.
I ended up making some out of cork that kicked my foot over.
Specialized wanted big money for various insoles at various angles so I recon they were made with a bias.

    Worcester Bosch.
Included a proper flush of the rads/pipes and a load of shit about how good Brexit is.
I bit my tongue but I’m no poker player……..

You can make a nice loop starting at Ufton. Go down the green lane to the canal, along the canal to the disused rail line. Along the line (cross the fosse) to the canal. Follow the canal back to the green lane, back up to Ufton.
Hope that makes sense with an OS map in front of you.
It’s my sort of training ride. It’s a bit narrow & stingers at the minute.

Gene Wolf’s shadow of the torturer. Followed by the rest of the New sun series.
I’ve been back to read it & listen to it several times.
Also a big Asimov fan. Caves of steel etc. Old but great.

I rode past a lad lying very still in the road as two cops kept the traffic off him yesterday.
    Good luck to him.

You have to assume EVERYONE out there is a **** & ride accordingly.
Dificult when the sun comes out though…

Gorky park + others by Martin Cruz Smith read be Brian Cox.
    Very good.
Also Philip Marlow stories read by Eliot Gould (if you like that kind of thing) the latest ones that were on BBC were even better. not sure of availability though.

    Loctite bearing fit.
Or if more filler required, that two-part metal filler thinned with meths.

Austin 1100/1300 was one of Britain’s best ever selling cars – perhaps THE greatest.
    Lazy styling.
Make a slightly bigger one – Maxi
Make an even bigger one – Princess land crab.
I have a perverse liking of the Allegro estate/hearse.

    Back in 2008 I bought a Commencal 5 & couldn’t get on with it.
I fiddled with the suspension settings & made it worse!

So I stripped it, hung it on the wall & built up a Maxlite hard tail with the bits. That was about 4 years ago.

Just recently I have re built the Commi & I am really liking it!
Only differences are light wheels & wide bars.

    Yoyo!

Deore & Hope lasted same time – how long?
If low mileage/short time you might be fitting them badly & this is what killed them, not their inability to keep kack at bay.

My shimanos all fail on the non drive side where they are more exposed so I fit a lizard skin headset bearing cover thing on them. Can’t say if it does much.
Hope ones let you pop the bearings out to clean & re-fill with grease which I like.

    NHS last week. A&E visit.
Apple – Daughter ran up a Big bill on i-pad games(Partly our fault for not deleting our card off it!)
Couple of emails, they called us & did the decent thing.
And this works, see. Mrs imp would now spend out the big money on Apple kit for our kids if/when at uni.

Did 50 miles for many years.
Triumph Sprint did 50+ mpg & had “Presence” on the road.
Once you have some good kit & are in to it you don’t think about a car & infact look forward to the ride.
Sad looking bike now sitting un-used in the garage with 90k on the clock as I cycle the 5 miles into work now.

It might be worth speaking to a good mechanic out there to see if he thinks the local conditions are particularly aggressive on suspension( cars & motor bikes).
Clean after use & change oil regularly usually looks after stuff.

Thanks, guys. Plenty to wade through up there^^^.

Our regular Thursday ride goes through a farm yard that has been up to the axles in a piss, shit, mud slurry.

If I am going to buy a bottle I might as well try to combat it.

I have no idea how it gets on the teet past the down tube but it does.

    Thanks again!

Bigblackshed, I too possess the un-poker face that gives away my utter contempt for these supermen who navigate our great company forward “in spite of” Engineering.

Video was too good. Got my back up.
