My friend (honestly…) told me about a dream he once had where he was humping a couch while Ray (from X-Factor or Pop Idol…) was engaged in a porn scene in the middle of the room!

"Use the RSS feed" – RSS Feeds are useless without RSS software (which I can't use when mobile nor are available through our corporate standard Outlook 2003. I've tried using a specific RSS reader when at my desk (9-5 M-F excluding trips out, but I've got far too many other things to keep my eye on to remember to open it). Home life involves maintenance of a house, wife, child and 2 bikes so RSS Feeds slip down the list of priorities there too…).

How about an old fashioned email (when did emails become old fashioned?) with a link to download the latest mag? Nearly everyone has an email address and many of us begrudgingly work through it's content all day so why not make the most of a captive audience? By all means use Facebook and RSS but don't forget the basics.

Like it, great pics. Didn't read a great deal but just picked the pieces I was interested in (Issue 10 – Alpine 160 & 5, Morzine, Whistler, Fort Bill, Peaty).

Text could do with being a couple of points larger for a laptop screen.

Keep up the good work, oh and a subscribe option is needed, I hate Facebook.

    Nice videos there :)

Any novice (1-2ft, maybe 3 on a good day, high) jumps there on the dh course for example?

Saw some nasty stacks on the slippy wooden plank bridges and some quality drifts on the grassy off camber descents.

Some excellent mini-bermed corners towards the end through the woods on a sort of fire road and I also remember a fast grassy high bermed trench descent too :D

Not forgetting the few fast descents with sudden sharp right turns at the bottom!

Keep coming – can't make 11th Oct but the CMBM is the right type of event I'm looking for.

Not an xc racer, more of a grinder so to speak, so the brown backs stuff isn't for me. I can't help pushing as hard as possible and end up feeling sick at those events, whereas the marathon events I don't feel sick, just tired. Quite like the 24 hr type stuff as a group too except for that feeling of getting out of your sleeping bag into wet clothes onto a clogged bike for 2 hrs at 2am in the rain :(

Yeah that's it, the track Your's to keep is the exact one, where the version from my youtube link isn't quite as good.

Update: Put a 60mm stem on this aft which I got from LBS for a tenner, borrowed some slightly wider 680mm bars and moved the seat back 20-30mm.

I also took spacers out to reduce the stack size to 5mm and put more air in the forks.

This combo seems to have cracked it – time will tell but it certainly felt way better this afternoon. Ok on the ups and steered when I wanted it to on the downs.

    Cheers all.

Need to get a lighter stem (this one from the LBS weighs more than my old bars and stem combined!) and some light 680mm bars now

Just checked – when sitting on the bike, bars are in front of the hub. Am going to move the seat back a bit and try a 50mm stem and see what happens.

    Anyone got one for sale?

Elaine anne – with petrol at 105 a litre now I wish I had a more economical motor!

Yep, suspension setup is definately an issue at the mo, I've been playing with it again today, front and rear. I'm developing a princess and the pea reputaion for suspension setup with my mates

That's Lancashire in the pics sharki but I'm a Yorkshireman.

No, only a video of a jump which is shaky and low quality

Also, think I'll try the suggestion of wider bars, shorter stem and loosing some or all of the spacers, combined with moving the seat back a bit.

Cheers all. Any more bright ideas let me know.

Been 3 weeks with this setup now. Took the stem and bar off my Inbred which felt perfect with 130mm Rev U-turns on.

Didn't know that about the hub, will have a look at that. Also, yes, moving the seat backwards is a good idea.

Re technique, I hear what is being said but I have ridden many many bikes in the UK and the Alps and it's just this particular one (setup) that I can't get used to. As I said above, I've used the bar and stem on my Inbred no prob at all. The upward sweep you see in the pic is a camera angle issue, they are spun back so there's not much upward sweep at the mo.

Here's a different angle taken on the same day showing sweep more accurately

I had considered technique but ruled it out since it's not been an issue for the last god knows how many years (apart from the odd crash when it just packs up and leaves).

Sorry, the bars are 660mm, not 640.

Have an 80mm stem so could try that.

Frame should be bang on, it's an 18" and I'm 5'10".

Cheers all. Can't decide between a 140mm fork or 150mm. Like the 140mm Floats from a weight perspective but fancy a 150mm from a fun perspective. Are there any similar weight 150mm forks around? Can't do 160mm as it's an 06 frame which only takes up to 150.

    Anyone got any for sale?

These pads are superb. A week of downhill on a trail bike in Morzine on new pads and still had half left at the end. Using them for 6 months in the UK no issues at all. Good stopping power once bedded in.

Firstly disconnect your PC from the internet. If you have a virus it's possible it's doing all sorts of stuff online without you knowing.

Then log on to another PC, visit either a popular anti virus website or this one for example http://www.techmixer.com/kaspersky-rescue-disk-load-kaspersky-antivirus-2009-using-dos/%5B/url%5D and download and burn a bootable anti virus cd (instructions provided in that link, get a friend to help if you need to) or email me and I'll try and guide you.

Start your PC with that cd in the drive and it will do a virus scan. With any luck it will find and sort a virus.

Try it, if it fails, post back on here for further ideas.

    Good luck!
