We went to Fiji around 5 years ago for 10 days, on our way back from a gap year in NZ/Aus.

We were told if you want to see/experience the Fiji that you see on TV, in ads, etc, then you need to get off the main island and go to the smaller islands, which is what we did, and it was everything we could have imagined it would be. There’s regular boats that go to all the islands and transfers are super easy to arrange.

We spent around 8 days on these islands, but it is usually just the resort, surrounded by dense forest, so is very much a beach/pool holiday, which is exactly what we wanted after a year of solid working in NZ. We did heaps of snorkeling just off the beach which for us was absolutely incredible with heaps of fish and corals, but most places arrange scuba courses and trips too if that’s more your vibe.

Some of the islands are super pricey, but there’s quite a lot of more basic options which is what we opted for and they were perfectly fine with decent food.

LMK if you have any questions

    https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-update-parliament-29-october/

It did apply to Health Board areas!!! See the FMs statement on 29 October:

“In recent weeks that guidance has applied to health board areas. But from Monday, it will apply at local authority level.”

    FM statement on 21 October:
    https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-update-first-ministers-speech-21-october/

“Finally, we continue to advise people very strongly who live in these Central Belt areas, not to travel outside the health board area that they live in, if they do not need to do so.”

Schools reopening has not triggered rise in Covid-19 cases, EU ministers told

“The reopening of schools in 22 European countries has not led to any significant increase in coronavirus infections among children, parents or staff, a videoconference meeting of education ministers from around the EU has heard.”

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who commented on this post.

I quit the day after initially posting this, and took my notice period off sick.

I’m feeling much better now, and have started running and cycling again.

My new job started yesterday and references came through all fine in the end.

Anyone who may be reading this thread for the first time looking for advice: take the advice above from the kind folks who took time out to comment. Health is so much more important than anything, and I haven’t for one second regretted quitting. I felt a massive weight lift as soon as I was on the train home that day, and I feel so ridiculous for letting it get that bad. Never again will I let a job do that to me. There is more to life than work.

Civil service job set to start hopefully within next month. I’m waiting on a police check to come back from NZ.

Basically no option to reduce hours without falling out with people and managers. I’m in probation period, and would rather resign than be forced out with 1 weeks notice.

Leave house at 7am, get to client at 9am, leave at 6pm, get home for 8pm. I’ve tried talking to my manager about working more locally, and told him about mental health, but been told it’s due to staffing shortages and it’s just the nature of the job. Can’t take any holiday or TOIL for this reason too.

Yes, it’s probably true I’ve got one foot in the door, which means I’m struggling to see anything in a positive light as I’m so certain I’m leaving soon.

Another vote for Bontrager Flare. Maybe even too bright. Had more than one unhappy motorist at traffic lights (not so) politely ask to cover it as the pulsing flash mode was blinding them whilst waiting for the lights to change. I now put my hand over it when stopped and traffic has already stopped behind me. Nobody has ever run in the back of me which is a definite plus point.

2 pairs of Gore Windstopper cycling trousers for less than £15, as we were sent a load of Gore stuff to sell cheap on clearance. None of it even saw the shop floor. Shame i’ve misplaced the fluro yellow pair though 😀

Thanks for the help chaps. Found a couple of driveways near to both Stanmore and Canon’s Park which look promising.

We stayed at the Z Hotels Piccadilly recently for a one night trip to the theatre. Spot on location, 2 mins to get back after show finished. Rooms were small but had everything you could need for 1 night, and relatively cheap too

Almost sure I read 2.4 somewhere when it was first announced. Can’t remember where though.

I’m trying to make the same decision. I think i’m going to go XTR because the BB price from Hope does put me off a bit. I was going to go XT cranks but heard a lot of comments about the paint rubbing off after use which sounds disappointing.

Got my frame in the post yesterday, but probably not going to have it built up until mid – end of May

I’ve got a frame on pre-order from LBS and they have been told Orange will be getting them into their warehouse in the next week or so, so hoping to have it in the next couple of weeks

I’ve had my 58cm CX bike in a Suzuki Alto. Wheels and mudguards off and seat post taken out. Wouldn’t have liked to have a passenger in the car though

How about the 2014 Boardman CX Team?
Pretty limited stock around the country would be your only problem though.
