I was in Val D’Isere in Jan, excellent fun. You can get lunch for more reasonable prices if you look around – the restaurant at the bottom of the Solaise chair did a nice baguette sarnie and big plate of frites for about seven quid, which is not shocking.

As for beer – ouch. Again, happy hours in most of the bars if you look around. Mind you that only meant it was only £5 a pint…
