I’d hint at the contrary, can think of lots of folks who have done better precisely because they didn’t have a degree and banged in experience instead. The problem is the whole degree thing has been devalued so unless it’s a quality degree it makes no difference and all you’ve done is wasted three years of your life and gotten into debt.
igrfFree MemberI’ve got it ready to watch, meant to watch it last night, but the Mrs decided the Royal Variety had priority, hence the Bandit thread banter..
Will watch it tonight.

oh dear+1
People need hope, direction and focus, lumping them all together in a bad place, not a good idea.I can’t believe the Dutch would do that without some method behind it, smacks of tabloid journalism un researched to me..

Igrf, did you book the time out of the home?Came out especially when I heard you might be going to the show, wanted to see someone who really sucks on Transitions Cock & Balls.. 😆

igrf, you mean you’ll have 3But this year, as it’s your second go, I thought we’d move onto pints… What dya think? Feel up to it?
As long as you don’t bring your embarassing mate nolan who’ll probably dislocate his other arm trying to lift a pint, everything will be just fine. 😉igrfFree MemberOh and yes we’ll be at the Boat Show, I’m giving Jedi his second lesson on how to drink Guiness without falling off your bike. 😉
igrfFree MemberYes, we did a deal with the Bos Suspension people recently, that stuff is to good not to have a UK distributor and service centre, those forks just rock. I’ve never seen engineering quite like it, not up close and personal, watching them being put together and the test to destruction thing they have, I’m not sure how much I’m allowed to spiel, I had to sign this confidentiality thing just to get in the place.
But I’m confident that there aint much about to best them and figured the combination of a Bandit Frame and a Deville fork would be something worth riding, that is unless you happen to have a Covert Carbon lined up for the same treatment.

igrf – Any idea where I can get a Bandit demo in the midlands, size large? I have emailed your office but not had much luck!Best email me, address in my profile, I’ll have a word with Sean who is IC all things to do with Transition sales, I just ride them and make his life difficult upsetting STW forumites, 😉
There is a dealer finder on here, but as you can see it aint exactly up to date, we’ve been having a bit of a traumatic year to be honest, under ordered those Bandits, totally underestimated demand for the brand. I very much doubt there will be many shops left with demo’s still to hand, a lot got snapped up after that MBR test, tail end of the summer.
But email me anyway and I’ll try my best to find you something or get a bike to someone near you if we still have any available, I wont know without a bit of a ring round.
Er where in the midlands?
igrfFree MemberWe’ve been out of stock of Bandit frames since the end of the summer, got a couple of medium 29er versions left in Pewter, that’s it.
2013 stuff is due in Dec 12-14ish and a lot of it is pre sold with deposits, popular bike, no idea why anyone would prefer it over a Covert but they do, some of the mags have waxed mental over it, personally I just don’t get it, but shouldn’t argue.
Watch out for the Bandit Deville, we’ll be launching that pretty early in the new year just as soon as we get our suspension servicing bit up to speed.
igrfFree MemberJust cloak the ships in water vapour, they’ll never know we’re here.
igrfFree MemberHas she considered Trigger mitts, bit of both worlds?
And the reason you need Gore or some similar breathable membrane is that your hands have twice as many sweat producing pores than any other part of the body, each hand produces enough millitres of moisture to fill a small vial every hour, hands are basically temperature controllers for the whole body, so when its working they are trying to cool it down hence how they get cold, quicker than anywhere else in action sports. It is one thing, like boots, that is worth spending good money on, cold hands can ruin your day.
I know all this from years of being a successful Glove and Ladies Handbag salesman.
Because like all Brits after a good days ski/snowboarding you go to the bar, get pissed and leave them behind and have to buy some more to keep folks like me in business… 😉
igrfFree MemberCyclo fascist Mamils – I like that, a fair number of them on here, I wonder if I wrote and pointed out they’re all football fans as well. 😀
igrfFree MemberYou could get a bit of satisfaction doing what the kite boarders have done to one of their rogues.
igrfFree MemberYou can get it chipped, I had one, got a little switch one way for extra power the other for economy. They’re OK I hope you enjoy it, the only limitation I found was the annoying turning circle, ran mine as a pick up without the window box thing on the back, I love pick ups been driving them for over ten years now, one flavour or another, got a VW Amarok at the moment which is OK but a tad on the big side.
The L200 was the first of the ‘lifestyle’ genre and capitalised on the vat and company tax benefit before bloody Gordon Brown did what he always did to help us small Independant types..

igrfFree MemberNever thought of myself as skinny, to unhealthy a regard for beer for that, but have always worked to keep a certain weight equilibrium which I’ve allowed the threshold of which to increase with recent ageing.
My ‘fighting weight’ was 63 kgs @ 5.7, but these days its 67 to 72 @ 5.6 depending on how much exercise I put in, which right now aint much, this wet weather has reduced my ride distance.igrfFree Memberglupton1976 – Member
Why do you think I spend so much time on here.+12
Not only the bread knife with her East Enders, Strictly Come Prancing, Holby City, there are the various daughters of darkness, with the Kardashians, <Insert approproate country>’s top model, and assorted other girlie crap, it’s a wonder I get to watch anything brutal with gratuitous violence.

DUUUUDE!!
what does mine say?SWEEEEEEET!! what does mine say
AN THEN?
igrfFree MemberSome are easier than others, 9pm was the threshold during school years, still is, but our last daughter is a nightmare, that and the advent of pc’s, Skype and tablets even when she goes up, it’s a skype fest with her school chums, but if there’s still any noise going on at 10.30 during school days, I get a mard on with her, she’s now 16, just.
igrfFree MemberTake my earlier (William no mates)advice and get your own dog, make certain it’s a decent sized one, like a German Shepherd, Rottweiler, (dont buy a Doberman they are crap) and they will look after any other dog opposition you might face.
igrfFree MemberI’m at this engineering facility, really clean and sharp, they make suspension we’re going to sell and service, the engineer who is in charge of the servicing has all his tools laid out on a slightly but not overly oiled rag, but laid really smooth and all the tools laid just so.
I was compelled to pick one up and move it out of line.igrfFree MemberIt’s getting bigger every year and you get two shows, no three if you count the extreme ramblers outdoor bit.
We’re hoping to have our new Carbon Covert, we’ll also have Bos Suspension and by then have the servicing set up here in the UK, we’ll have an Electric Townie Street Cruiser which is kind of cool, with its SRAM powered hub, we introduced Jedi to the joys of the Boat show Guiness stand last year, so should organise a bit of a forum drinks session if anyone’s up for it.So yes I think it’s a way better show than your standard bike show with roadies wandering around with a 1000 yards stare.

Heat is on Film4 at 21:00, classic film I’ll be watching thatGood call, I’m on it, the beach boys are too old now..
igrfFree MemberI bet y’all love Gloria singing your anthem – I will survive..
Beach Boys on now, vast improvement.
igrfFree MemberSorry to report, but Sky has been the worse decision I’ve made recently, slower than my previous BT broadband which sucked anyway and the landline has some annoying answerphone service I’ve no idea how to access or turn off and too expensive.
igrfFree MemberWell as it’s Nov 30th which I recall reading somewhere is the day we can reduce our mo’s to Hitler proportion so I shall be doing this later before my ride and then it’ll be into the Pub and be casually racist by so doing.
igrfFree Memberdavidjones15 – Member
I don’t think we disrespect those who we consider to be superior to us, do we?
I’m sorry, didn’t you just do exactly that? 😉

they are all offensive terms if the offended choose to take offence and they are all in daily use by lots of people with no serious offensive intent.Of all the stupid things I’ve seen here. It’s all the victim’s fault, is it?
It’s a good job not all cocks think the same as this.Yes if you choose to be a victim, just as I choose not to be offended by your assertion that I’m a ‘cock’ and will not report your post for so doing, the key to this is wether the use of whatever word you choose to insert was meant to be offensive. My point being that clearly oop north folk regularly use the word go for a chinky instead of say going for a chinese as we tend to down here, it doesn’t make them racists, casual or otherwise.
igrfFree Memberall i know is when i was a kid and i was pinned down and had the crap beaten out of me by some kids chanting chinky bastard, i wasn’t keen.
So would you have been any less keen if they just called you an ugly bastard?
This whole degradation of the term racist and it’s use to describe petty rudeness and name calling is what is at issue here.
Racist is the word used to describe Hitler and it’s application not only to an actual race, it was also a religious group that he attempted to wipe out. So describing a name caller in the same vein is a tad overkill.Racism isn’t always to do with skin colour and imv it is part of the human condition as a part of human tribalism upon which the very basis of society is formed.
Rudeness is what is at issue here, it is no different to what some of you football fanbois call supporters of other teams if you pursue the logic of it.
We don’t use the term Chinky down in this part of the world so it’s obviously a more regional slang term, but it’s no different to Taffy, or Jock, or Paddy or Pikey or Ginga. Or Lofty for tall people or tich for short folk, or bender and queer for gay folk, they are all offensive terms if the offended choose to take offence and they are all in daily use by lots of people with no serious offensive intent.
There’s a case in the news today of some woman on a reality TV show referring probably quite innocently to one of the other contestants who she happened to admire, as thinking it was a monkey coming from the jungle, it’s not clear from the pictures wether or not the guy she was referring to was black or mixed race, but she probably didn’t for the first minute mean it in that context but she is now in the middle of a ‘race’ row for the benefit of the media and the twitterati and professionally offended.
That is the danger of all this, being rude is not the same as wiping out an entire race, there needs to be moderation in the descriptive use of the term racist and racism, casual or otherwise. If there were a greater desire for folk not to be just plain rude, or a realisation in certain terms that rudeness for ironic effect is/was part and parcel of British culture, then maybe we’d all feel less discomfort about the application of ‘political correctness’.
igrfFree MemberThat second one’s a sundog isn’t it? But the first one absolutely stunning, clearly an Alien cloaking device for observation purposes.
igrfFree MemberThis always cheers me up, being a bit of a sailor/wind&kitesurfer over the years..
igrfFree MemberAs an extreme agnostic, I believe no-one knows if there is a Supreme Being/Intelligence/Force/Deity or not, but I will be amused if there is and all those Atheists find themselves forever consigned to single speeds in a heaven of hills.
igrfFree MemberSupernatural forces beyond our current comprehension, effect and in some instances pre ordain our life courses.
And Guardian Angels.
Though if you ask me about any of this in real life, I’d deny it.
igrfFree MemberGraham Hill, Hugh Grant, Clarke Gable and what’s the name of that serial killer fella, what a collection of stars!
igrfFree MemberIs that Hugh Grant? Posting as paulos oxo, was going to watch how you took on the media until I saw that, so watching Rachel Atherton on supersize the planet instead…
