business casual – pretty much suit without tie or chinos, smart shoes and shirt.Don’t do as the Germans do. Jeans and jacket…..aaaahhh!
This.
If you’re in a business that has to mention business casual then it means no tie, that’s about it, in our game where T’s Hoodies, Shorts are the norm they might say smart casual if they hold a meeting in some nobby golf club which then means we have to wear either a shirt usually check with our walk shorts or a polo and maybe actually have to have something on our feet.

They’ll have enough for a Big WingTaking almost as long as it took Leigh Mallory to assemble his…
igrfFree MemberJust checked the guy out on the evening news, the white ‘stick’ you’d have to be a total moron, nay partially sighted moron to confuse that little thing stick he was filmed using, hunched as he is, to consider a)It was being used in a threatening manner and b)It even remotely resembled a Katana (Samurai Sword).
If they don’t sack this fella, then Plod is going to continue to rank right up there with bankers, lawyers and political scum in the hearts and minds of those they would police.

In fairness grumph, you were the one who wanted a sword walking cane. Maybe plod found out and is doing a systematic cull of all old people with canes of any description!Where the hell did you read that?
True as it may be, I can’t recall confessing to it, missed one down in Rye at an antique place not long ago.
Have to be careful now, better not paint it white and travel up North.
But seriously that Plod, he should be taken outside and executed by having black pudding chucked at him in front of his entire family and their shoe box burned t’t ground.
igrfFree MemberYep not doing well in the spelling stakes lately either, clunker = klunker, tasar = taser, I shall have to take myself in hand later. 😉

Can we have a 4th thread on thishttp://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/oh-the-irony-2
http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/samurai-sword-taser-balls-up
Ok sorry, i did look didn’t think to search on irony, nothing came up on tasar either..

You couldn’t make it up.Unless you can corroborate it I don’t believe it.
That’s what I’m doing asking here, I’ve been out and about today, just caught that news gem in between two punctures, a massive M/Way jam and leaving my laptop in the puncture repair dudes thereby having to return to the M/Way jam, it’s been one of those days..
igrfFree MemberAh, thanks my apologies, I now see there’s been another thread about it already, my bad genuinely hadn’t realised.
They show me this stuff then yell if I post it on the internet, I only saw the release this morning, hadn’t noticed there was a thread already, searched on the wrong spelling clearly.
Anyway it doesn’t make the job of deciding wether there’s a scene for this sort of bike over here any easier.
Show a Carbon bike costing six grand and you get forward orders coming out of your ears, talk about a fun bike costing under 500 quid and you get speculation, nothing more..
Will they won’t they, that is the question? 😕
igrfFree Memberdruidh – Member
Oh look – a truss fork. Oh no hang on – it’s just a normal fork with a lump of chrome stuck to it.Can you keep your picnic in the fake fuel tank?
You’d think wouldn’t you, but no, it’s entirely an affectation. Different type of market, different appeal they do go well in surf shops to folk who neither know anything or care much about bikes.
But these Clunker things we have to take a bit more seriously because they’re part of a proper bike market brand.
Can’t seem to get the link to the pics accepted, think they must be maybe to high res.
igrfFree MemberWell funnily enough we sell these things as well, but I can’t imagine our product liability insurance would like the idea of our encouraging their use for trail park hump and jumping

And yes, I’m tasked with the job of selling them so it’s kind of a leading question –
Trade member starting a thread trying to sell stuff on the forum? Do the mods know?Hardly, in order to sell them I’d have to order some first, it’s a bit far fetched don’t you think?
You can’t buy one even if you want to right now, so if there is one place you’d get an opinion I figured here, if it offends anyones sensibilities I’m sure it’ll get pulled soon enough, but right now, it’s a genuine question.
Would anyone actually shell out for a ‘new’ old bike so to speak?
igrfFree MemberThis is a clunker video, I’ll get some bike picks up in a minute if I can find them

Neil Young seemed to think so, wrote some songs about it. Lynard Skynard wrote this in reply.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwWUOmk7wO0
Went to a Lynard Skynard concert in the Albert Hall once with the bread knife, there emblazoned across the backdrop was the Southern Cross, so we’re enjoying the concert when she observes the distinct lack of a single black face in the entire hall, so I guess some folks might think so, or they just don’t like Lynard Skynard.
Obviously there can be nothing racist about an inanimate object like a flag, but the intent is clearly there in my view.
igrfFree MemberNot sure if you’d call them classics, but I’ve owned some very enjoyable more bang for your buck sets of jap wheels along the years.
The Little Suzuki Jeep thing was quite cool in its day.
As was the Colt Shogun, they couldn’t understand where all the sand came from when I traded it. (Use to park it on the beach at camber whilst windsurfing)
The RX7 was a brilliant but thirsty beast, it also used to backfire like a machine gun when the exhaust got a bit old
The Celica Supra was a dream when I first got one, first car with aircon as standard and loaded with every conceivable extra some unheard of back in 82 when they first came out, electric windows and seats, cruise control and blisteringly quick for the period.
The Toyota Hilux, The Toyota Landcruiser..both upped the game of the genre.
The Mitsubishi was it Imprezza or something else, never owned one but left its mark.So they haven’t all been crap, certainly better than some shit we were building back then, that was affordable at least. Ford Sierra ffs?
igrfFree MemberCleared the loft got some of that free Government insulation, the house is toasty warm now and used the brownie points to spend this weekend at a sailboat regatta in Broxbourne, with guys and gals off the sailing forum, excellent craic.
igrfFree MemberI remember it blocked a lot of the trails and we were lifting the bikes over fallen stuff for weeks after, as I remember I’d just got my first alloy Deore XT with that Bionic crank and ‘click shift’ earlier that year which I was grateful for all that lifting, the old bullbar Muddy Fox would have been a ball ache.
We got woken up by next doors roof getting blown off, all the tiles were banging against our new babies nursery window I had to get up, got blown clean across the yard, trying to shut the garage, but the doors just blew off. Lucky our roof was aligned with the wind so no damage, but shop windows were blown in ,at work the roof felt was lifted and a telegraph pole was down.
We tried to sail in it, got blown off the water, got a video of the mornings wave pattern somewhere and all the local damage, never seen anything as big before or since, monster storm.
igrfFree MemberDon’t forget to get a set of skate shoes to go with them, the number of fellas I see wearing ordinary trainers, the idea of flats is the grip they give with flat soled shoes.
igrfFree MemberThe Original Psycho, saw it as a kid, nightmare.
Funny, never been scared of much in real life, but hate scary movies never been to one from that day to this.
igrfFree MemberWell they were wrong about that Whyte PRST1, it was an incredible bike at the time, selling it and buying the 46 was a real disappointment.
As to single speeds I wonder what they’ll have to say about the next fad/phase depending on perception, next thing on the hill is the rise of the ‘clunker’ I wonder what they’ll say about the new single speed coaster brake approach to bike parks, I’m not even supposed to be mentioning it until after the weekend, but there’s an interesting diversion about to launch from Tranny based on clunkers..

I agree with the need to educate people about the Great War. I for one only recently found out that were it not for Germany supporting Finland in WW1, the Finnish may still be under the boot of the Russians.
IIRC that was “The Winter War”. 1939-40, which would have put it in WWII, not WWI.More importantly it was the lack of performance by the Red Army during that war that gave Hitler the confidence to take on the Russians.
I hope also in the education surrounding the events the part played by the various Royal Familys in starting WW1 and the reason it inevitably lead to WW2.
The fact also that the Russians paid a bigger part in the victory at the end of the day and why they feared the capitalism that backed both wars.
Unlikely the truth will be told even after the expense of fifty million, but I do support the education of kids in the hope nothing like it is ever allowed to occur again.

…why was a reasonably budgeted film even considered if it wasn’t thought that there were enough would be believers to make it a commercial success?
Right, because the general public are such a discerning bunch huh? That’s why there’s no dross on TV eh?They hired Kevin Costner at the peak of his fame just after dances with wolves, you don’t do that for a ‘documentary’ unless you’re sure of the interest and JFK conspiracy theorys have abounded for the best part of twenty eight years before they made that movie in 91.
So, anyway, how long are you visiting our planet for?
Your planet?
igrfFree Memberpiemonster – Member
A film doesn’t require anyone believing in the subject matter for it to be considered a viable financial proposition.Maybe, but it certainly helps, case to point Michael Moores Bowling for Columbine which ended up with multiple awards, was more factually based but only ended up grossing about 58million as against JFK’s 200+ million, then the clincher for conspiracy theorys affecting profitability Moore’s Fahrenheit 911 eclipsed that.
igrfFree MemberTuckerUK – Member
I can’t believe I have to say this, but…There were never any serious conspiracy theories about the death of JFK by the masses, until Oliver Stone’s film.
Well if that were the case, and I have to say having lived through the period there most certainly were doubts and misgivings started the moment Jack Ruby shot Oswald before he could be brought to court, so then why was a reasonably budgeted film even considered if it wasn’t thought that there were enough would be believers to make it a commercial success?
And secondly further to that clip of the ill educated white youth, had Sharia Law not been ignored for so long under the liberal intelligensia’s multi cultural experiment, there would be no fodder for the far right to manipulate types like that with.
Another conspiracy theory proven there, that the Liberal left enforced multiculturalism and mass immigration to ram it to the right, was it not?
One times conspiracy theory can be another times truth, depends who’s writing history.
Had Jimi Saville been a Muslim would he be under discussion even?
igrfFree MemberWe are by definition living in a capitalist society and as such are constantly manipulated by that capital and it’s quest for a return. Globalisation, the pursuit of endless profit, dictated by accountants with no regard for the humanity and necessity of man working not just for profit but for vocational and society reasons is the enemy.
The rules of Capitalism need rewriting, their needs to be a definition of what fair profit is, what is ‘enough’ just how rich does one man or organisation need to be at the expense of mankind.
oops sorry off on one again../rant
igrfFree MemberHmm I wouldn’t go as far as to say the entire media is controlled by ‘the man’, manipulated certainly but the Beeb does a fair job in certain areas to be impartial, but even they are not always clever enough to realise when and when not they are being worked by city commodity speculators.

The internet has been a great tool for the truth in terms of helping people to look at things from a different perspective and do their own research into subjects. There are no good copies but there are ones that are clearer to see than others.
As for the speech that Kennedy gave, I’m glad you liked it I feel that it doesn’t get anywhere near as much attention as it should, like all to many other things these days!
Do you use any of the alternative take on reality channels / websites?
No, not really, I’ll google about if I get a particular bee in my bonnet, Kennedy is one and Princess Di the other, both for separate reasons I continue to have my doubts that the ‘official’ reason given was anywhere near the truth.
My first job was a journalist in the sixties and even at my lowly level the number of stories we had to drop because of inteference either by the owner of the paper, or the local government that was involved in wage fixing, the police or the armed forces who’s PR department were strong enough to put pressure on our local paper, left me with a pretty cynical outlook on life generally, so I’ve chosen to spend as much time living and working’off the grid.igrfFree MemberThere are no ‘good’ quality copies of the movie it was a standard 8mm amateur film that only saw the light of day much later, but it shows the two directions the shots came, and the trajectory imbalance for the single shooter official explanation. It has only been with the benefit of the internet, that the film has had wider distribution.
igrfFree MemberThere is enough evidence to prove that the multiple shots by Lee Harvey Oswald from the book depository is a crock, you just have to watch the Zapruda[/url] movie to disprove that.
That there was, probably still is a conspiracy of forces from the Industrial Military combine, behind events leading to Kennedys death and subsequent events that put Bush in place for the Gulf episodes.
I would be surprised in fact if it could be proven there wasn’t such a conspiracy with the immense sums involved.
Thanks for posting that Radio broadcast, I hadn’t heard that, even more compelling than the more commonly held view that he was about to pull the ‘advisors’ out of Vietnam as a reason for his assassination.
igrfFree MemberThere are myriad ways to pull us out of this, both short and long term, the trouble is the folk who know how to do it are not being asked.
Even the other lot were making more progress at keeping things turning and the debt not increasing than these eejiots, the simple fact is they don’t care as long as they are seen to be making the right noises for ‘the markets’ who have enough other train wrecks to focus on so we are being left to bumble on.
Fact is putting up VAT was a disaster, by putting the tax up they reduced the turnover, there are millions locked up in SIPs that Brown was going to permit to invest in domestic property but he baled at the last minute, allowing that to occur would boost the property market at no cost to the taxpayer and have the end result of reducing rents in the private sector.
That’s just two things that would turn things around for them and I wouldn’t charge them a couple of mil in consultancy fees for suggesting it.
igrfFree MemberEvery time these idiots open their mouths about the ‘current situation’ it gets worse.
Out here in struggling business world, since the end of the Olympics and during the period when the politico’s and the newshounds were focussed elsewhere, things began to pick up a bit, without their negative scaremongering and the media take on it, people began to pick up on their lives, try and carry on, buy and sell stuff, move house do all the stuff necessary for the economy to function after the worse period I’ve known in thirty years in business, countless recessions and three day weeks.
An out of touch expenses fiddler telling us it’s going to get worse helps no-one.
They need to just get on with it, we don’t need to hear about what they might or might not do, just do it and stfu and let’s try and get on with our lives sifting through the wreckage of the economy to try and earn enough money to pay the tax necessary to keep the bastards in expenses.

The system as it is just fine. The fundamental issue with politics today is that the big idealogical debates have been “won” and so there is a cigarette paper between the parties in reality. The difference between Labour’s and the Coalition’s spending plans are tiny but it is in both their interest to exaggerate the difference for public consumption. Most of the Tories’ education and NHS reforms are what Labour were planning anyway, albeit faster. All a PR system would do is cement the power of the centre further and there would be even less room for radical alternatives to be debated.Kind of contradicting yourself there mefty, saying the system is fine yet suggesting radical alternatives can’t be debated. It’s not fine precisely because there is no room for radical options to reach the ballot paper with any hope of support.
And anyway since when is it radical that we can’t turf out cheating politicians who support a totally corrupt financial system. Need I remind you if any of us got caught fiddling our expenses to clear the wisteria from our chimney we’d have been fired rather than being allowed to give the money back then made Prime Minister?

Liz kershaw was groped on air– my money is on Stevie Wonder😆
Not looking good for our Jim, the fedarales are now pursing 120 different lines of enquiry, nothing they like more than to get stuck into an easily solvable case, that should improve their clear up rate.
Plod, can always be relied on to close that stable door with all due ceremony..
igrfFree MemberIt’s not; Ash, Chestnut or Horse Chestnut, Elm,(has serrated edges my mistake)Rowan, Sycamore,Oak, Poplar, or Willow (which has long thin leaves)which are all common trees to uk gardens, Beech does get used as a hedge as well, difficult to really tell without seeing the bark which is an instant give away. Other than that I don’t know, my tree knowledge is the distant memories of a boy scout, could be just a shrub.
igrfFree MemberAgreed no MP’s under 35, that young Sarah Teather what does she know ffs, straight from education to jnr minister families via a party nobody really wants in power then re shuffled presumably back to the benches for being a know nothing.
