Propain,Alutec and Commencal are all good bang for buck direct brands. The Radon 29r looks like a bargain though I just need to talk my Missus into having one now. lol.

I’ve had my Stereo 160 for 2 years now and had zero problems with my shock bolt. I did read about this problem before I purchased it but I just put snapping a shock bolt down to bad luck or ham fisted repairs. My mate bought a second hand Stereo which was about 5 years old, we stripped it down and he managed to shear his shock bolt off but on closer inspection you could see the stress cracks in the alloy and it looked like the Hulk had tightened it previously.

Take the little one round to the Mach Loop…..pack some snacks to keep bribing him with while your waiting for the jets….. Well worth a couple of hours sat on a hill.

There’s not many bridalways around that area as well…..and the roads aren’t much better to be honest. Most of the roadies ride DH bikes around here. 😂

I’ve never done that section….. But living in the area and knowing what the upkeep of the trails are like around here I personally would give it a miss on road tyres….. I know a few that do it on gravel bikes with no problem but I think road tyres would be a bit of a risk.

I will be keeping a eye on this thread. I was thinking about one of these as well for my lad. Just buying the frame and forks and swapping the parts over from his hardtail.

I’ve been running the Source Hipster for the last 12 months and I’m really pleased with it. I’ve used it for all day epics to quick local thrashing, I strap my pump and spare tube to my frame so it leaves more space in the pack when on a epic loop.

Lathkill Dale is worth a walk…. Plenty on mines and caves to keep the kids interested and a top notch cafe at one end and a great pub at the other end in Monyash. Win win.

My Lad went from 24″ to 27.5 with no problem at all and he’s only just 5ft tall. I got him a XS Ragley frame and he loves it…. So much so he now wants a full bouncer so the Ragleys Gotta go. 😂.

My lad used to run Nike Kenzo skate shoes until he fitted into Fivetens.

I’m rocking a Vaude Lierne this year…… You can pick them up on Fleabay for about £40. Pit zips, light weight and a good fit.

There’s a few people now selling individual 3D printed ones on Ebay. I was in the same predicament.

I’ve been running Race Matrix finned all year round in both Guide RS and XTs for years and have not found any reason to change.

Lathkill Dale Campsite at Monyash is a good option. Good pub and cafe within walking distance and plenty of good riding close by.

lol…. I know what you mean about watching his back wheel bounce around. He’s not had the pleasure of riding BPW yet but I can see what you mean if your riding there regularly. I’d have a look at buying a XS 650b bike and put some 26″ wheels in it if the 650b wheels are too big for him.

I had the same quandary last year with my lad….. Tried him on a few xs full bounce bikes and after talking to a guy at TF tuned I decided to not to bother with the full sus. I just opted for building a xs Ragley blue pig for him…..he also 11 years old and weighs about 2 stone dripping wet.lol. By the time I bought a shock and got it custom tuned to him it would be £250 and he will more than likely have grown out of the frame in 12 months. Do I’m saving my bucks until he puts a bit more timber on then I will go down the full suss route. You can get some bargain frames on Bikediscount.de to build up.

I’ve been running the rear for about 5 months now  I used to run the Wild Rock R reinforced which is a great tyre but these beat them hands down for grip and rolling speed. I’ve paired it with a Magic Mary S/G on the front this combo sticks like Sh#t to a blanket. When the MM gives up the ghost I will try the front specific Enduro though.

Im currently running a 2018 Stereo 160Tm . I’ve had various Enduro bikes over the years and can truly say the Cube is the easiest to ride and service. They’re aren’t the most redical geometry wise but a pair of offset bushings and a shock volume spacer kit and I’ve got mine running just how I like it. I’m 6’1 with a 34″ inside leg and find a large with a 45mm stem perfect fit.

Theres a couple of of lay-bys on either side of the A61 just before you reach the Norfolk Arms as you enter Grenoside…..one of the main roads so always busy. It’s a steady spin upto the top of Greno but it’s down hill all the way home on some sweet single-track.

I’m just in the midst of building my 10 year old who 130cm tall a XS Ragley Blue Pig 650b and it fits him perfectly. I was toying with putting 26″ wheels in the frame but after he had a ride on Xs Cube 650b and he had no problems with the wheel size I slapped some 650’s in. I would personally look for a cheap Xs 26″ or 650b bike, there’s plenty on fleabay and other sites.

Cheers for that Rich_s….their roughly the same weight as his stock wheels so I will save his money to put towards a new build 26″.

Loving this thread guys!! Just a quick question regarding the Isla wheels….. What are they like weight wise? I’ve been looking for some new wheels for my lads Core24.

Everyone has a opinion on what’s good and bad. It’s the easiest bike to ride that I’ve ever had over 20 years of riding. I did get the Cube at trade price Tbh……so was a no brainer really.

I’m with Rocketdog on this one…. I’m currently running the Stereo and it’s a beast…..climbs really well and go does down like a cheap hooker. I’ve just stuck a offset bushing in the shock and it’s transformed the bike. Have a look at Propain.com. I had a Tyee but they also do the Twoface, can spec it to what you want….don’t be put off of the shock position.

French race safety laws are a bit vague to say the least…..you could tape a piece of cardboard to your back and you will pass.lol….better safe than sorry. I had a guy decide he wasn’t doing a ladder drop right in front of me so I had to take evasive action and make my own landing area in some rocks….glad I had the back protector on. 😆

The most fun you will ever have on your bike!!!! Like all of the above say. Full face, back protector…..and make sure your brakes are in good working order.lol.

I’ve set the sag @ 30% which is about 15psi but the fork doesn’t feel right as it’s not retuning to the sag point..strip down and service tonight I think.
