    @frogstomp

    Sorry…. I meant 3 layer goretex rather than a 2 or 2.5 layer fabric.

I recently purchased a Mountain Equipment Makalu jacket from the Magic Mountain site and can’t believe I waited so long to buy a proper jacket. After years of buying mid priced jackets from the likes of Rab and Montane and finding them wetting out after 6 months of use I will not be going back to shell jackets.

This was the cheapest place I could find the Cura 4s…..do 2 separate orders so you don’t get hammered with import taxes.

I’m having the same problems with my Race matrix as well…. Glazed the rotor, so I sanded pads and rotor then got brake judder so re-sanded again which got rid of the judder but overall power is well down….. Looks like I will be changing pad manufacturer by the sounds of it.

Yes…. The full bounce one. Plenty of magazine reviews but no real world reviews about. It looks heavy.

The main car park gets full quickly nowadays…. I tend to park around the Wortley or Deepcar area depending on what I’m riding.

That’s just Wharni trails though. Couldn’t tell you what Greno is like tbh, I don’t bother with it.

For the time of year the trails are not too bad, it’s been fairly dry most of the week but rain is forecast for the weekend, so it could turn to slop over night.

I know all bike carriers flex to some extent as per design but the Upride seems to have a bit more movement around the pivots than my Proride.

No worries…. I will have another play with the rack tomorrow and see if I can get it to fit.

Is there any chance you have a pic of your Aeris on the rack…. My problem is my water bottle mount being in the way.

I’m on the same quandary…… Im changing cars soon and will require a new bike carrier as my Large Bird Aeris 145 won’t fit on my Thule Pro-ride due to bottle cage…. I was looking at the Yakima Highroad or the Forkchop.

Luckily I’m furloughed atm so just I’m just iced and resting and waiting for the NHS physio to get me a appointment….fingers crossed it won’t be too long.

Thanks for the response… Did you go to flats or stay with the clipless? That’s what popped my knee… Didn’t manage to unclip while doing a rodeo.

You could try the Rimpact Pro’s….. Personally I’ve not had a problem with the standard Rimpacts over the last 18 months, I’ve just had to replace the rear as I got a flat and rode about a mile on it in the Peaks so there wasn’t much left.

Cheers for the replies folks…. I also run Rimpacts so I’m hoping that will make them last a bit better than the Slaughter I used previously did.

I ride mostly rocky natural stuff and the Michelin’s are great for it but they dont seem to last too long once it gets dry, that’s why I’m looking for a cheap summer tyre then put the Michelin back on later in the year…. Im running 27.5 x 2.4 atm.

I’m just wanting to track her in the area she goes missing in….. Now don’t laugh here folks…. My dog is no Karelian bear dog just a very prey driven Cockapoo.lol……. Im just wanting something to locate here to save the 30 minutes of heart attacks and a ear bashing from the wife when I get home. She is trained to the whistle but can be a tad stubborn when on a scent. The first time she went missing she turned up at home from about a mile away and the second I just sat around the last place I had visual on her and she returned 30 mins later.

I can’t believe no ones mentioned Charlie Chuck…. By far the best drummer there is. 🤣🤣.

For me it’s Carmine Appice then John Bonham.

Cheers for the responses folks…. I do tend to run warm and it will be used for hill walking and general dog walking so breathable is key. I will have a look at your recommendations. Thanks.

3k would get you a real tasty Bird….. Ive had a Aeris 145 for the last 12 months and love it…. I will definitely consider a new Bird when I get the new bike itch.

Have a look at Mick Gardener racing in Barnsley….. These guys work closely with Ohlins on shock design for motorsports but also know there stuff about MTB’s aswell.

Thanks for the response folks…. Ive seen that video previously, it work on the newer version of the Brand X but I’m not sure that the non stealth version has the slots that the plastic shim slots into… Well only one way to find out and that’s open the begger up.

Stripping it down is no problem…. Watched a few vids and I’ve stripped a stealth one down a few times. That’s exactly what I thought that moving the slot will trap the string…. Its looking like I’m either going to have to trim the seat tube down 10mm… Which I don’t really want to do….. Or I go down the Dark Web and get some growth hormones.lol.

His shock on his old bike was a deluxe and he was on the limit for sag…. I was going to have a look at tuning tomorrow.

    ifindoubtflatout

Ideally I would stick a coil on it but he’s only 14 and doesn’t weigh to even start to break the coil through its travel so it will have to be a air shock….hows the clearance with the piggy back?
