+1 for the Caffell, the climb is more interesting too, if you get to Brechfa the Raven trail is a must ;)

i used an ISX 6 on the prophet as it has a regressive suspension design, the IFP chamber volume and pressure can be adjusted to ramp up at the end stroke, it worked very well as I could run reasonable air pressure to get the right sag and a good small bump feel and never have it bottom out hard.

I am using a DHX5 now and that is really nice… but heavier!

the Jtech tuned ISX is up for sale if you are interested it is a 200×50.

just an update for anyone who may be considering.

used a 150mm u-turn coil, dropped it in, works a treat,

    cheers all!

]they might be using the wrong fault finding procedure.

but I have heard it said that sometimes its better to go to a good mechanic who is actually smart enought to find the fault is sometimes less hassle than dealing with dealerships.

    hope you get it sorted.

does this mean the Guardia Civil can no longer sit around in bars drinking alcohol in uniform then drive off back to “work” :)

thanks carlos, but I would need a firm one as well.

smaller cogs are more notchy and rumbly, probably nothing to worry about.

try taking a link out and see if it improves as its a hardtail and no chain growth to worry about.

I think its just best to try a few and see which you prefer.

They do serve a purpose. Yes some riders do them all the time as that’s what the spectators heckle for, but the guys winning the races do them too as they are the fastest way over jumps. Physics is great sometimes

yes, “scrubbing” serves a purpose, whips? more just for fun I’d say.

I think they look crap, and do not serve any purpose I reckon apart from helping to stop the dead sailor move which looks about as cool.

Agreed – however the deeper question is where does that universal drive come from?

here[/url] but I am pretty sure its not the answer you are looking for

I tried the lifeventure baserunner, worked quite well, lots of space 1 or 2 bottles
couple of straps to take up the loose space so stuff does not bounce around and
airflow vents and cushions on the back.

I dont notice it unless I am carrying way too much kit, the water bottle holder has a clip to stop the bottle falling out

another + for the service here :) great communication and service

if you are way off with your tune/settings you will notice a huge difference.
if you are already close you will get even closer :)

ask the shop to check the dropout alignment and face the brake mount while you are there.

pads and disk look a bit glazed in the photo, take care not to get chainlube or cleaning products on them.

I split a couple of old cassettes to get the ratios I wanted across a 11-40 on a 9 speed setup, and made an adaptor to use an old chairing for the 40t.

anyone tried fitting the Hope on a 9 speed?

    picture of it here http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/10696427/

I used individual sprockets to get ratios I liked, the big jump is on the shift from 4th to 5th @ 20t- 26t. on a 9 speed 11-40

rear tyre may buzz the seat tube or front mech if you have one fitted esp. in FR mode.

more stroke on the shock= more travel, you will have 150ish instead of 140

you can fit any size ring onto it you have handy and space it for 8 speed too.

PM me on PB if you want to try one.

    I made an 11-40 9speed like this http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/10696427/

works perfectly.. but no bling value :)

I use a homemade 40t with a zee, shifts fine from a 36t, might be a bit slower with a 34 but 6t gap should be ok if you are not too worried about lightning fast shifts.

liberon pure tung oil, nothing else I have tried comes even close,
non toxic as well ( unless you have a nut type allergy)

The reason I made myself a 40t is to use a short cage zee and 9 speed. 32/40 works for me.
