OK, thought you were interested in a clutch mech, you mentioned avoiding chain devices in your OP,

your 9 speed cass and shifter would work with it so its a cheap way to get it and if you go decide to go 10 sp later (when your cassette is worn out) you only need a shifter.

But you can use a 10 speed Shimano clutch mech with your 9 speed SRAM shifter, as luck would have it they work 😉

seems like “high earners” do not really care much for their country of residence..
maybe its the greed that is the problem.

    I use mine with a 40t xt ring (104g total) and a zee with a sram shifter on a 9 speed 😉

drop me a line if you want to try one and I’ll chuck it the post.

There is probably just a very small minority of riders who ride with disregard for other users of the woods.

This is no different in many ways than people who use the public roads as a recetrack or drive dangerously. Of course nobody suggests banning cars/bikes/lorries etc from the road as a solution as it is clearly not the way.

I agree with the policing of the woods and the reporting of any type of antisocial behaviour, by anyone.

A few dedicated tracks for bikes would be a good move and has been 100% proven successful in many other similar situations.

As mentioned on the comments of the newspaper article they would probably be built and maintained by volunteers at no cost, liasing with the land owners and in sympathy with the surroundings and other users.

I see no real problem here that cannot be easily dealt with. 🙂

Just like to mention that Wiggles pricematch can take 2 days to reply, by which time the deal you are hoping to get a match on may no longer be in stock and not qualify.. 😐

re Halfords, ordered some Shimano brake parts online on a Saturday night, got a text on tuesday morning, 😀

The issue with the “slow down” don’t exceed the limit suggestion is that is removes a critical decision making process from the driver, that of proceeding at an APPROPRIATE speed.

No, the speed limit is a maximum speed allowed, that is all it is.

anyone who does not have the sense to drive according to the traffic/weather/road conditions etc should not be allowed on the road.

Its not too big to just explore, but Triscombe for a bit of DH, along the spine for some XC views and into the woods for some random fun

slow down everyone you’re driving too fast!

been said before but never hurts to repeat it, it may make a difference to someone one day

    slow down,
expect other road users to make mistakes
be ready to brake when you are approaching any type of hazzard.
I used to just rest a finger on the brake around traffic/side roads etc.

nobody is such a skilled rider/driver that they cannot improve

stay safe people, please keep racing on the track where it belongs 🙂

I fitted mine with a crown race from a Hope headset which has a rubber skirt, seems to have better seal against water ingress, the works one had quite a noticable gap. took it apart after the rainy season and it’s pristine inside 🙂

I dont know about that hub but I did a 10mm thru and a 9mm thru on a pair of newer XT hubs that have a 15mm axle.

10mm bolt goes through and you end up with effectively a 15mm QR

they are made with zero tolerance to avoid the sprocket rattling, (a pet hate of mine)

a little bit of filing to achive a custom fit should do the trick, if they are not compatible you can return it for a refund 🙂

Formula 1 like to hammer your subframe/bodywork as well, watching them “work” on the cars was disturbing to say the least, them one “mechanic” saw me watching and slammed the door into the reception area shut…

done an MOT there as they tyres were cheap, charged me for balancing and tracking, car vibrated at motorway speeds, took it to a local, tracking way out, weights were in the wrong place entirely… stay away.

If tedious climbs are your thing, yes

could say the same for loads of places, there are a few other ways to the top of the descents as well,if uplifts are your thing then it may not be for you. 😉

Unfortunately it wont work with some cassettes with alloy spiders, PG980/1080 are not working either, I am mucking around with the idea of doing some for 5 bolt chainrings to see if they will work with them.

@naffa, send yours back for a refund if you like 🙂

    cheers

M770? not 100% sure I dont have one handy, it wont work with the srams with alloy carriers like PG980 etc, the bolts clash with the 5 mounts unfortunately, you can only get 2 bolts in without removing a bit too much material for comfort!

If you have a 104BCD chainring handy line it up with the back of your cass to check if the bolts will clear.

I have made up some adaptors that take a 104 BCD chainring, DXF file available if anyone fancys a go, I use a 40t XT ring with a zee mech.
one chap made a 38-44 sandwich with it, he had to mod the RD to make it work.

8.5 PSI must have felt like riding in sand!!
@ 27 PSI you should be able to squeeze them a bit, should not be rock hard
should not feel like they “ping” and bounce off a sharp bump like a root or kerb.
