Ha! its a well trodden path,  I just would like to know what the weights are of brakes I have knocking around with out having to dig them out/remove them and weigh tem myself or trawling lots of random sites an scaleshot images.

What is heavier DB8’s,  Zees, SLX, Formula R0,T1’s or TRP slates….first world problems.

Last entry on WW for disc brakes was 2012?

From a neutral riding position seated the bars now appear just behind the front axle rather than over the crown.

So stuck on a 75 eventually and its been ace.  I find it easier to hop and manual and  it does not feel like a floppy shopping trolley surprisingly.? it felt like it used to understeer with the 50mm stem now it corners like on rails..tighten the line mid turn till the front starts to wander then the back starts to kick out, brraaaapp. :)  YMMV but it suits my outdated riding style it seems!

Seems to be some webtalk about stem length being matched to fork offset leading to best handling?

I have a 50 stem and a 46mm offset, probably just going to muck around in both directions and see what I like.

Makes sense, but if you move your centre of mass an inch or 2 forwards it would be no different and your centre of mass relative to everything else will have shifted.

Yes but on tech climbs and descents you will be mostly standing.

If anyone is looking for a Blue Pig in Medium I have one thats one short ride old, its too “progressive” for my winter locals. Its mint and comes with headset and RF Ride 170 cranks, maybe a SLX mech/shifter and Deore MS cassette too, just too nice for a winter beater, probably going to chuck a wide range 10 speed on from the old bike.

Got a trig on last PSA, ace bike! I found the drops uncomfortable and no fun so stuck some proper bars on it and then mounted some old style cowhorns inboard if I wanted aero and a change of position, works well.

Blue Pig incoming… I should know better than to look at PSA threads!

    Thanks OP!

Ah wondered where it got to, must be a wormhole from my maintenance area to yours…

RD outer housing guide with cable grunge protector liner.

If you happen find my shimano lever bleed screw and the o-ring from the bleed port of my Formula caliper

please chuck them back into the wormhole, I’ll keep an eye out.  :)

    thanks

They would not be able to find a parking space, so landing is out of the question. They will orbit couple of times cursing then go somewhere else.

    Eventually.

But in the meantime you should remove 1.3ml to compensate for the extra wt.

Ooh that Sommet frame then, seems like a great price with the shock included too! Off to read some reviews and find my credit card.. if I get the 275 version I can probably chuck all my 26″ stuff on it if the bb wouldn’t be too low with a 170mm Lyrik..

26″ wheels may end up a bit close to the chainstays at the BB end.

    I think a GRX might cope with a 50t.

edit. Looks like you need a goatlink with it if you go over 46t

Is a 50t really used very much on an ebike?

I discovered an app which does exactly this, it will give you incorrect directions randomly and totally ruin a beautiful days exploring in any delightful location.

It is called Navigation and Guidance, affectionately known as NAG’s by its user group.

The Pro version allows you to sample your significant other for the voice instuctions.

The most requested and best feature of this app is you can turn it off and just ride NAG free. :)

It is available on the Gewgle Pay Store,

Wow, it looks wrong with the riser bar, but it also looks kind-of right.
You’ve gone all in on the “gravel bikes are just old-school MTBs” thing, eh 😀

    lol looks that way :)

    next tweaks will include:
    loosening the headset,
cutting bars down to about 500,
sticking a handy friction shifter on the downtube
planishing the brake disks and giving them a polish with some GT85.

Next thing may be aluminium bolts and spendy Ti where Al not advisable,

eg. Al bearing preload bolt on stem will save you +/- 10g :)

the bars are not on super discount any more, but if you want something flexy to make longer offroad exploring comfy I would recommend https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/HBSECRFH/selcof-carbon-riser-handlebar

thes are the Halos they were £10 on sale

    GXR Gravel 27.5”/650b Tyre

these are OK but a bit draggy in comparison

    WTB Venture https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/venture-700-x-50-road-tcs-tyre/

and these were fast but dont expect to be able to stop in a hurry

I’m only 5’10 and got a large, felt tiny, hated the drops off road. Did not find the that the tucked position made much difference and with a set of wide risers I have space to comfortably grab the bars between the stem and levers if I am facing a headwind or going quickly.

It now has a 100mm 6deg stem some cheapo flexy carbon bars from planetx and a dropper, its proper fun.

currently trying different rubber got an 2.25 ibex lynk out front and a 2.1 rocket ron on the back, good clearance and not as slow as I was expecting, it has transformed the previously terrifying attempts to slow down or turn on anything off road and downhill, tried those £10 tamwall halos on sale too and they are a good allrounder. fast on pavement and predictable on loose with a surprising amount of grip. the WTB tyres saw me on my ass a few times really fast and without warning on actual gravel.

Only gripe is the tiny amount of crank pedal clearance especially as I am running a pair of thos wide plastic flats.. care required on techy climbs..

Most advice is jibberish, you learn by repetition, have fun and its usually a good idea to stop when you start thinking about it too much.
    You are doing fine.
All you may need is to slightly push the bars away and bend your legs a little once you are up.
Jumping bouncers and rigids are completely different not much translates.

the only way to Heston W services is from the westbound M4, so yeah Chiswick it is.

There is a gated service road round the back though if you wanted to walk a bit…

morning, I dont have spares unfortunately but…

I have used a plastic shrader valve dust cap to make a washer, just slice of a section about 2/3 mm thick as even as you can, works a treat.

never had a problem using non locking tuners once I learned to fit the string correctly
graphite nuts are ok but do nothing a little bit of pencil dust does just as well
best thing for any guitar is a proper setup and a bit of fret dressing as required

hard to tell by the pics but the pickups look very close to the strings, this can kill sustain and
cause the notes to have an odd sound as their vibration is affected by the magnets.

3 way is classic on a tele, if you are unhappy with the tone there are changes to the components on the tone control to change things, the parts cost a few pence and loads of info on line.
