reggie beat me to it! 🙂

shifting is fine, shift ramps and tooth profiling look similar to the other offerings from the big S’s

    feels stiffer too i think

i’m using a saint with a radr cage, good chain wrap without having to wind the b tension out to get clearance,

the 40/42t is 7075 the rest is steel, there is also a steel version with alloy carrier that is a bit heavier and a bit cheaper

the black colour wears off pretty quick but I dont expect the actual steel to wear out for ages, the 42 does not get a huge amount of use and has plenty of teeth taking the wear so should be fine for a good while I hope.

No fault of your own? That there is the problem. We expect car drivers “to be able to stop in the distance they can see to be clear” but for some reason complain like hell when someone expects a cyclist to do the same. You did play a part in it, you are partly to blame – suck it up princess.

This is such a moronic post,

if something moves out directly in front of you are supposed to be able to stop?

you must go everywhere a 3 mph, “princess” 😆

OP hope you make a full recovery and that the other unfortunate does too.

    be careful out there everyone!

sag should be OK for a 81 kg rider?

add a few more cc’s oil at a time to the damper side and it will change the spring rate, and a heavier oil would give a bit more LSC too.

do not use the air preload, does it no favours

I think for the most part most things can be fixed,

unfortunately there is no profit in doing it, in fact the opposite.

    = business as usual,

no point in arguing about it really

    …carry on 🙂

I think the plastic bag law is a load of PR crap from one perspective.

what percentage of the cost of your food is for actual food and goes to the growers and how much is for pretty packing, glossy inks and advertising.

Supermarkets and manufacturers/distibuters should be forced into selling items that are not packaged in uneccessary plastics that are not biodegradable as well as having tons of printing and photographs on the packaging.

how about banning all that thrash that gets dumped into your post box and goes directly in the bin as well.

And recycling in general is also a way to make unnecessary consumption more acceptable and consumers less guilty/pre-occupied by the amount of trash the gather and dispose of.

    less is more.

you can pour a self leveleng latex mortar to deal with the change in level, you must let it dry before you lay the floor. If you suspect high humidity in the slab lay a plastic moisture barrier before the insulation.

you might be better off with a new handsaw and a simple saw guide just to save the dust a chop saw throws out

cut a bunch of 10mm spacers for the edges to stop it moving while you are laying it

consider the posibilities that may exist around the building as well,

shrubs and trees can protect the house for cold winds for example and a pile of nicely chopped and stacked covered wood on the sunny side of the building will also offer some protection.

Wooden floors are and a very well insulated roof would probably be my top tips.

Fitted furniture can also be a good way to isolate cold spots without losing loads of space.

Can we have an OFSTED type report for MP’s and their constituencies as well?

Isn’t that what elections are for?

er, no , that is just some sort of (un)reality TV event AFAIK

    OFSTED

Every week, we carry out hundreds of inspections and regulatory visits throughout England and publish the results online. We help providers that are not yet of good standard to improve, monitor their progress and share with them the best practice we find.

Our goal is to achieve excellence in education government and skills for learners of all ages, and in the care of children and young people. taxpayers and everyone else who has a right to be fairly represented.

So, if we are keeping things in line with headmasters.

Can we have an OFSTED type report for MP’s and their constituencies as well?

good for the goose and all that.

the electorate can fully trust in parliment to fairly self regulate. 😆

Commons Speaker Mr Bercow has appointed the former Conservative MP for Hexham Peter Atkinson to sit on the panel which will appoint the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority board.

Mr Atkinson, who stepped down at the last election, was one of a group of MPs who tried to block the publication of expenses claims that uncovered the scandal which heaped shame on Parliament three years ago.

you may need to find the joists top and bottom to fix the head and sole plates to.

if you make the frame on the floor it has to be smaller than the height of the room or you will have no chance of etting it upright, fix a second sole plate to the floor and lift the frame onto it.

if you cut all the uprights very tight you may end up lifting the celing/putting a bow in the floor and the previously tight upright will become looser each time 😉

if you do not have a 6′ level handy you can use a plumb line to fit the door framing and the lining, measure an even gap from the line to avoid the need to shoot the door to a bowing lining.

if you cut a spacer to the appropriate length all your studs centres will be great and it stops them drifting whil you fix them in place

a big g clamp is great for twisting bent studs as well

If we want the best and brightest to go into politics then we need decent salaries. …
So, I’m quite happy with the 10% pay rise.

so we can look forward to a 10% improvemnent in how everything is going if I follow your logic correctly?

performance related pay based on the minimum wage would be a better motivator perhaps? 😀

    Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.

The book consists of six nested stories, from the remote South Pacific in the nineteenth century to a distant, post-apocalyptic future. Each tale is read (or observed) by the main character in the next. The first five stories are each interrupted at a pivotal moment. After the sixth story, the other five stories are closed, in reverse chronological order, and each ends with the main character reading or observing the chronologically previous work in the chain. Each story contains a document, movie, or tradition that appears in a previous story.
