I got one for my HP laptop from https://laptopbattery.co.uk/ and its still going strong nearly four years later. In fact, I think it’s outlasted the oem one, so..

Got CrossClimates on our Tiguan 4motion and they were spot on in the snow and ice last weekend. Feel good in normal cold, wet conditions too, and have been fine on dry roads.

I would say though, the CrossClimate 2 is soon to be released in Europe/UK, so if you can then I’d wait for them as they now have a 60000 mile life warranty.

Which site did that sell on for that much..!? Got the same frame to shift and I could use getting good money for it.. 😉

Massive Pratchett fan, and I thought the trailer looked fun – didn’t realise that the full episodes were released so will have to give it a look. I’m fully anticipating it to not follow the books, but then I’ve absolutely hated every Sky/TV adaptation of Discworld stuff so far, so got nothing to lose!

Not slung a leg over a bike since the end of November – we have horses as well, so once winter hits the work there increases massively so not had the motivation to get wet and muddy on the bike as well. Might try and get out this weekend though 👍

Can’t recommend a website per se, but the best piece of advice I was given was:
“Don’t just set out to learn how to code – find a problem that you need to solve by using code/software”

Mate of mine uses something like this in his woodworking shed to stop all his tools going rusty over winter – might help long-term?

I’m sorry to be pedantic, but those aren’t CrossClimates, they’re All-Season tyres.

All-Season tyres are generally developed using a winter tyre and working backwards to make it usable in summer. CrossClimates were developed by Michelin by starting with a summer tyre and making it usable in winter. Subtle, but important difference.

    As you were.. 😁

Got a link to the Kleber tyres? AFAIK the Crossclimate are Michelin-branded (we have them on our Tiguan 4motion and they’re great).

Loved the camera work and the feel of the editing, but I’m sorry, the music ruined it for me – just the wrong feel for that sort of imagery. Either something more ambient/electronic (no drums, no vocals), or let the tyres and brakes provide the soundtrack.

    Apart from that, cracking vid!

Well said. I can bet you anything you like it’ll be ignored though..

    Rescue, rescue, rescue, rescue.

There are so many dogs (and puppies) in rescues up and down the land in desperate need of a loving home, why would you not? The right dog is never the wrong breed.

If it’s rocky then yes, otherwise nope. Normal riding is Tunnel Hill, Hindhead, general Surrey stuff. The last time I came off and hit my knee riding locally was never.

I’d have said Bird AEther 7 as well, especially if you’re looking at frame only.

I’d say leave it on personally – if I were buying a used frame, having it already Invisiframed would be a plus point.

There should be an app where you enter your region and what streaming services you have access to and membership of. Then, when you want to watch a movie or series, you search the title and it tells you that you can watch it for free on Netflix or Prime etc. If you can’t watch it for free then it sorts by price order where you can buy it.

How are you able to order one when the Alpkit/Sonder website shows them all unavailable?

Oh, I’ve no doubt that they are, but given that I never felt the need for any more power than the Spyres had, is there any other reason to go for the hydraulics? Combined cable shifter/brake units have been around for ages and are well-proven in terms of reliability. Hydro drop bar levers just seem really large and unwieldy.

Can anyone give any advice regarding groupset options? I was looking to get the Apex1 Mechanical as I had no issues with the TRP Spyres on my GT Grade, and I’ve been really happy with the SRAM 11sp reliability on both mine and the OHs MTBs. Is it really worth the extra for hydraulic/Rival/GRX?

Ah, road.cc have updated their page on it to match Decathlon’s website – it’s actually £2499.99.. 🤔

Was thinking it might have been a possible alternative to the Planet X ti gravel bikes, but add on another £400 and I’m not sure.

Horsey/dog people generally all have a Shark, for a reason. 4 horses and 2 dogs here. We have a corded Shark. They’re great.

I had cable TRP Spyres on my GT Grade and thought they were fine, with more than enough power.

Yup, I was under the impression that only road/rim/QR was 130mm and that road/disc/QR had moved to 135mm for parity with MTB.

No decent deals in Surrey/Hants Borders that I can see – all “aspirational” pricing and 20yr-old tat at >£100.

What make/model of hub is it? Looks like it’s the cone locknut – I’d be having a look at SJS Cycles for something similar.

Simon, I’m going to agree with Bruce here, and add that you are coming across as massively condescending. This may not be your intention, but I’m letting you know that that’s how your posts read.

Some people’s internal mental chemistry cannot be altered sufficiently to allow them to exist peacefully and happily in the society that we have created, in the same way that some people are born with a genetic makeup that means no matter what they do, they will get cancer. To try and reduce an incredibly complex and emotional issue to pithy soundbites and generic motivational quotes designed to make you feel better and less helpless about the issue is trite and insulting.

I’m sure you mean well, but please, try to understand the point being made.

I absolutely know this feeling. At the moment I have absolutely no confidence in my front tyre to grip on anything wet if I weight it (fine in the dry!), and it’s sliding all over the place. I know the solution is to be more aggressive and not ride off the back, but I just know that if I do then the front tyre will slide and I’ll end up on my face.

Do not like the Specialized Eliminator 2.6 for anything like wet roots, it just doesn’t seem to have enough “edge” to grab on. Going to switch to a Hillbilly for the winter and see how that goes.

2.6 Eliminator Grid with Stans here – little bit of weeping but very minimal. Rear loses pressure at about 1psi/day,front maybe 1psi/week.
