Yeah, I think the V2 pistons were rolled out from about 2020-onwards.

Trying not to let this fall away – @deadpool, hope you’re hanging in there.

My kids care, I know they love me and I love then more and they need that love more than anything else.

I don’t have kids, but I’d say hold on to this more than anything else.

Also, remind yourself that you haven’t always felt this way. If you’ve been in a better place before, it’s possible to get back there. You can’t always control the storm, sometimes you just have to batten down the hatches and ride it out. But yeah, it absolutely sucks 😔

I enter the Bauer group competitions using as many free online entries as is allowed on the website – used to be the Cash Register, where you had to know what the daily amount was, now it’s Make Me A Winner.

They’re transparent about the fact that they make the winning call between 3pm and 4pm, so I have a daily alarm on my phone set to go off every 10mins during that time with the phrase you need to say as its reminder tag (used to have the daily amount). Hardly a difficult thing to do tbh, and it’s not like I’m spending any money to enter, so if I have a shot at winning tens of thousands of pounds for minimal effort and no cost on my part, why would I not take that chance? You enter a competition, you know the rules, it’s up to you to play by them if you want to win.

I suspect I’d have a different view if I got the call and lost out though!

I have this exact problem and the (drastic!) solution is going to be re-sealing the roof, anti-condensation paint on the inside of the roof, damp-proofing the floor, insulating the walls and roof and boarding the whole thing out. Bit excessive but I’m fed up of having a damp garage that makes everything mouldy!

Important thing to remember about the CrossClimate is that Michelin originally didn’t designate it an all-season tyre (which are usually designed by starting with a winter tyre and working backwards) – they designed it as a summer tyre that just so happens to have the 3PMSF approval.

Pretty much the perfect tyre for most of the UK tbh, and what we have on the Jeep (and the Tiguan before that).

Definitely a bargain – that’s what we paid for the rigid (which we wanted tbh) with the SX groupset.

I am half a size up in Shimano road shoes.

EU43 in nearly every brand of normal trainers/shoes EU44 in Shimano road shoes.

Exactly the same for me but with Shimano flat pedal shoes.

    Stop consuming animal products.

Time and time again it is shown that the most polluting plant-based products are still significantly less polluting than the least polluting animal products.

Every single person on this forum could make the switch tomorrow with less effort, cost or disruption than almost any other suggestion made.

Bet you won’t though, will you..?

I’ve had cross climate before and they’re a super tyre but they aren’t rated for winter – they have a B rating

Michelin CrossClimates have the 3 Peaks Snowflake certification, which means they can be used where winter tyres are legally required.

The answer to 90% of bottle cage questions is Fidlock.

The answer to 100% is Specialized Zee.. 😉

Which, coincidentally, has a very low stack height 👍

Another vote for the Whippet here – loving mine with the rigid fork but also have a 120mm to go on if needed. Honestly, they’re great.

We lost our first dog last year at the age of 11, but also had a 7yr-old rescue who’d been with us for 6 years at the time. He really struggled without his big brother, so a month later a new pup joined the family.

I felt massively disloyal at first, trying to love a new addition whilst still grieving for my departed boy, but he wouldn’t have seen me sad. A year later and I’m glad we didn’t wait too long.

I use a Blackburn Outpost Corner bag: https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Blackburn-Outpost-Corner-Bag_126558.htm?

Fits everything I need (have tube patches instead of a spare tube, and a combined pump/CO2 inflator) for rides up to 2hrs or so.

    Canyon Commuter:ON 7?

Fazua system, which is not only supposed to be virtually drag-free when off or above the limit, but the whole motor and battery can be removed if need be. Available in XS as well, recommended for under 5’2″ heights.

Annoyed that I’m not going to get to see Jonah Matranga/onelinedrawing on his UK tour this week and next but the locations and timings don’t work for me sadly. Anyone near any of the gigs should go though, he’s fantastic.

Got Jimmy Eat World at Brixton on Wednesday though 😁

I think the higher spec a bike is, the more likely potential buyers will have their own personal spec preferences, so splitting may well be easier to sell.

Can I ask – do you have the feeling like you’re not “worthy” of such a nice bike, and that you wouldn’t be doing it justice? I’ve had that feeling more than once, and the solution was definitely to sell up and buy something older and cheaper, which, ironically, I ended up riding more..!

No possessions are worth keeping if selling them would alleviate mental health issues causes by debt. If selling it would make a decent dent in paying stuff off and ease some weight from your mind, then do it. You’ll probably realise more of a return by splitting it and selling frame, forks, wheels, etc, separately.

If it goes, do you still have a bike you can use?

Life’s too short to get wound up by the petty trivialities encountered during the course of a working day…

I turn up, do my work, do my best to get along with everyone as it just makes everything easier, and then go home. At 3:30pm, because I have flexible start/finish and got in at half 7.. 😉
