As luck would have it I have a 4000II on the front of my bike and a 5000 on the back, both in 25mm flavour on the same rims (23mm external, no idea internal)
4000II measures 27mm
5000 measures 26mmico86Full MemberNice one, thanks all.
I did watch the video but its pretty light on details, “12mm bar to tap it back in place”
I figured that a 12mm OD socket would work.I hadn’t spotted those bushing packs, thank you. I’ll also check out the nuke proof bushings just in case. I have a feeling that my next CRC order will include those bushing tools, they look just the job for making this a painless task.
STW provides! Thanks againico86Full MemberSame as the pro Koryak & raceface aefect posts as well, those are the easiest service kits to find.
A new set of keys really helped mine, also the older ones had a crap seal. Fore-at play = significant wear at the back of the stanchion right by the seal, so worth checking.ico86Full MemberFor a year? I must have missed that. I managed to get a month for 99p to watch Paris-roubaix a couple of years back

Use your imagination.
Or porn, seeing that we are allowed to knock one out at willWhat does Will have to say about this?
ico86Full MemberAh cheers, that reminds me to pop the cadence sensor in my bag to return tomorrow. It links up to my garmin ok but the refresh/sampling rate is super slow. I’d say a good few seconds lag before it reports a change in cadence, enough to be annoying. My old chainstay mounted tacx one was much quicker.
ico86Full MemberI think it sounds like you’ve made peace with yourself OP, but I’ll stick my oar in anyhow.
I think you’re fine, we recently sold a place a couple of roads along which was nice but not so brand spanking inside as that looks. Though it amazing how good the photographers can make a place appear. Anyhow, ours was similar, bigger garden but not such a whacking great extension. Put it up for 10k less than that one, got 15k less than you paid in the end. I think you’re pretty bob on to be honest.
St.George is mint, you’ll love it. If you do see it through tap up Ross of ShutupandRide, based in Dropouts cycle club. Top bloke for mtb tinkering
ico86Full MemberSo this backer rod stuff sounds like it’s the pick, are people cutting it flat or leaving the whose sausage in the wheel?
I’m also debating whether to put this in both wheels or just the rear. Rear gets the abuse but if it helps to run lower pressures in the front that’d be pretty sweet too. Any thoughts from people who have tried it?

Mix of racers, trainers, industry types.. great listen
ico86Full MemberI have very little input I’m afraid as I have been pondering the same question for pretty much the same type of riding.
Flows can be had slightly cheaper, but DT Swiss rims seem to be getting good rep at the moment… haven’t made a decision yet either!ico86Full MemberI don’t have erg on my trainer but pretty sure that it’s supported. Think they call it ‘minions in the machine’
Certainly when I did the full frontal test it kept prompting me to turn it off if it was switched on.I surprised myself preferring the Sufferfest, I’m not too fussed by the racing in zwift, graphic environment got old quickly and the training sessions aren’t as engaging. All personal choice though

Spidey sense kicks in as soon as I hear ‘motor sports designer’.
Files in same box as Robot Bike Co 160, Arbr Saker etc.I’m not sure what that box is but it should also contain Whyte Bikes
ico86Full MemberMark Sterland is good

Based just off Gloucester Road but he runs a pick up/drop off serviceico86Full MemberEurgh, I really shouldn’t get involved as it boils my pi$$.. however in the spirit of venting:
Me: (knocking on window at the next junction) Did you see me back there? You just pulled out on me and almost caused an accident. I had to slam my brakes on to avoid you
Driver: yes I did see you, I thought that you were going too fast!
Followed by..
Driver: my brother is a pro cyclist so I’m always really careful around cyclists
Me: clearly not, you were lucky you didn’t put me in hospital. Use your brain next timeAhh, where to start?? Flattering to imply that I might have been going over 30mph, then statements of care that fly in the wind of recent evidence whilst invoking the cyclist relation get out of jail free card. Not that I was squeaky clean, insulting someone’s intelligence is rarely a constructive course no matter how accurate.
Aaand relax.
ico86Full MemberCheers, I was thinking of Alexander kristoff, Nacer Bouhanni?
But if their teams didn’t have the legs, they didn’t have the legs. A couple of years ago Tony Martin could have closed things up, or at least smashed himself trying. Though with a TT tomorrow…ico86Full MemberI missed most of the stage, how come the sprinters teams didn’t pull the break back? I guess lotto had de gent up there, sunweb didn’t have loads to ride for as their man was having a play at the front, but Katusha? Cofidis?
ico86Full MemberI don’t think either Bardet or Uran had any bad luck / mechanicals did they?
Apart from Uran managing to win a stage on a singlespeed? That was bloody impressive!
ico86Full MemberI know it’s a bit late but I picked up a bottle of Penderyn in Sainsbury’s for £30. Not a mad deal but a biting money off and another option in the price bracket
ico86Full MemberThis thread gets rated. Too early in the morning to be pessimistic, I’m looking forward to dusty trails, long evenings playing in the woods with mates and boozy bbqs.
ico86Full MemberNothing more to add over what has already been said above. Our kitten was like this a few months ago and now she’s curled up asleep next to our aging cat. She still has a bit of fun chasing him every now and then but she sort of knows when to stop these days.
Enjoy the jokes, film it and if you get a good un try your luck for £250.ico86Full MemberSounds about right to me. If you’re struggling to find a fork that suits you may want to look at a different stem. When I was in a similar boat a 30mm clamp height Funn ‘Funduro’ stem sorted me out.
ico86Full MemberYeah I’d go size down from Italian, Im 72kg and med is just about small enough,5’9 ish and 30″ waist. Think a small would be too wee though.
ico86Full MemberTa for the heads up. After reading the other thread I was weighing up the pros and cons of (in price descending order..)
Endura FS260 Pro SL
DHB Aeron Speed
DHB ASVThese have the same pad as the ASV but even cheaper. Worth a punt, cheers!
ico86Full MemberI’m just a bit gutted that we don’t get the hour long giro highlights on itv4
oh well, I’m sort of passively following for the first few flat days in Holland, maybe we’ll see some side winds catching out gc contenders? But looking at the forecast I doubt it. I’d love to see Chaves smash a stage or two in the mountainsico86Full MemberSir HC – Member
Can’t comment on the 210, but do use a 220 for both riding and swimming. It defaults to run when uploading, but you change it to ride/swim in strava, never misses any segments.
This is interesting as I like using my FR220 for mountainbiking when I dont need maps. How do you change it to a ride in strava? I’ve tried the android app and on the web page however mine always doesnt pick up any cycling segments.
(sorry for the hijack)ico86Full MemberI think the only solution is to mix it up a bit. if you always have pasta and rice, you get bored. just salads? you get bored.. rince & repeat.
I tend to default back to sandwiches when I’ve not made anything else however if you can put in an hour or so of prep once a week you can usually load the fridge up with some goodies that’ll last a few days, then make up sandwiches or whatever the rest of the time.
Some things I tend to cook up are:
Veggie and bean fajhita kind of things, dead easy to chop and roast up some veggies with smoked paprika, cumin, corriander and cayenne pepper. add whatever toppings you like and wrap that sheet up.
mini pies, started from making the ones in the ‘feedzone portables’ book (well worth a look, loads of quality ride food in there) and improvised my own depending on whats in the fridge. 1 hour = 12x mini pies made in a muffin tin, whats not to like?
My salads are usually bacon or chicken based with cheese/fruit/seeds/dressing added. nothing too flash but that salad love book looks pretty good.
leftover bits and peices from dinner dont need to be eaten as they were last night, wrap it up, pop some salad in there, or a prinkle of feta cheese.. maybe some houmous if you have some kicking about. whatever is in your fridge that’ll taste nice. We usually try to cook extra most evenings so we have a choice of lunch fodder.Dont get me wrong, I still end up with sandwiches a couple of days a week however its the non sandwich days that I look forward to. today = 2x mini pies filled with thai green curry from last night mixed with leftover rice to stop them gooing everywhere
ico86Full MemberNot much chat on the 210 itself but I think as others have said it’s pretty basic. I used to use my FR 220 for biking and it was alright if you’re ok with having to take a hand off the bars to check your distance etc. As its a running watch I wouldnt have thought that it’d give you average speed, my 220 only gives average pace (min per mile).
My main bugbear was that when you upload to garmin connect and strava it is automatically marked as a run. You can change it on both platforms but I found that it didnt pick up the cycling segments when I did this. Its only a little point but I got bored of copying the .fit garmin file and converting it to .gpx or .tcx to manually upload it to strava (if you want to do this then gpsbabel is a great little program). So of course I used this as an excuse to buy an edge computer.
Another option if you want a watch is the tomtom multisport, I think they’re a fair bit cheaper than the garmin fenix.
//edit: I hadnt realised how cheap they are going now!
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/tomtom-multi-sport-gps-watch/%5B/url%5Dico86Full Member1k gets you not that much these days but likes of boardmans you get a lot of bang for buck.
And on the other hand bikes for 1k are so much better than they were 13 years ago. You’re in for a treat! I havent looked for a little while but I wouldnt have thought that you’d go too far wrong with on one, I’m sure that there are plenty more options if you have a search. giant, specialized, whyte..
Its all long low slack at the moment, largely a good thing I think too.ico86Full Member@njee20, I was trying not to say this as I don’t think the OP wanted to hear it.. but not nice as it was agonising! Briefly, and very locally but oh man was it sore squeezing that little blighta. Proper exercise in willpower to get it popped. Leg up, head down squeezing in the shower. Enough? I couldn’t see it to pull the hair out, I just had to believe that in the aftermath of devastation there was no way that the hair would still be there.
So the good news was that the pain went away almost instantly and within a day the whole thing was forgotten about with no lasting impacts. Tres bon!ico86Full MemberOwch! I’ve had a couple of these so I feel your pain.. My girlfriend wouldn’t touch them with a bargepole so my solution was dousing with tea tree oil and then eventually manning up and squeezing the little buggra. Not nice!

Maybe every 9-12 months, I get the itch, possibly saddle related?
I think you’re in the wrong thread, you want the “How often do you change/wash your bibs and why?”
ico86Full MemberI cant see the videos at work so not sure if this is a repeat but my suggestions are
