Well I own a cotton cap and some singletrack shorts, guess that make me the Obama of cycling.

There’s 1.25 million people killed in road incidents every year, many more than some issues that we are supposed to have sleepless nights over.

It’s the biggest killer of 17 to 29 yr olds full stop.

It’s not however as bigger avoidable problem as heart desease, cancer and diabetes caused by the food and tobacco companies or climate change caused by the oil co.s.

Sugar, Sugar, Sugar…learn to spot it and don’t have it. After a while it begins to taste like the shit it is.

[quoteYou know this forum is marketing the magazine don’t you? It’s why it has the same name[/quote]

    Is it ?

Would surprise me if this website and road cc are equal to the mags.

I have had a 5 and bridge for about a year and am completely hooked. Sat this afternoon queuing up great tracks from napster and my own library..brilliant.

Not quite a Sondeck and valve amp sound but good enough and perfect usability IMO.

Probably go for a couple of 3’s were I to start again only because buying more 5’s is going to be expensive.

I have run a 15 and a 17 either useable but as above a half link should get you close enough for the tensioner to work.

Bankers are just like you but they work in Finance, whatever they did is whatever most would do given the chance. Its the same reason Oil execs are happy to cause climate change and Food execs are happy to cause an obesity pandemic.

Shareholder return is all that matters, provide that, get well paid for a couple of years and get out.

Breaking the rules of the road is pretty cockish but I can’t help thinking calling strangers f@&£
Ing idiots and posting videos of it is even more so.

Know what you mean.. I pulled up next to this guy in an A4 all I could hear was Jeremy Vine on radio two and I was outside his car!!!

The driver didn’t have a any polystyrene on his head or a hi viz, he’ll be the first to complain when a tipper truck t bones him, some people eh.

This must be the segment of 2014 with spech bringing the AWOL to the party all the stuff already mentioned, the Charge Plugs also look good as does all their range this year.

I must admit as a do it all bike I’m liking the Cannondale caadx or caad 8 and or the Merida cross 4 , no better reason than they have horizontal top tubes !?

There are plenty of telematics (black box) policies about without a curfew. Do a comparison site quote the top five will be telematics choose one with terms you can live with.

Other companies will offer you a discount on the phone to have one fitted.

I used to get tired by Friday commuting every day, dont anymore.

Lost a couple of stone by cutting out sugar and eating a lot of greens. Sometimes can’t remember Friday commutes if you get me, but never feel tired, no need for that supplement stuff.

Edit re above- its not the nunns but may well be the absence of other crap that’s making you feel better, sometimes less is more.

    I would just move.
A long way south will probably do it, maybe even north if you can get a job in Norway, otherwise just suck it up it comes with territory.

You say “no room for race blades” but the original race blades are clip on and don’t go into the chain stay arch so need no room. Race blade longs probably provide more protection, they look like the defy copies pictured above but do need some if only a little chain stay space.

I just picked up set of original race blades for £20 from Halfords they seem well made, fitted in seconds to my old racer with 25mm tyres and look just the job.

I have used a pair of Ortlieb fron t roller classics for a sixish years. Fitted to the back occasionally thought a bigger size may be usuful but the smaller front size means one can be used as a general purpose bag.

After daily use they look almost the same and function perfectly.

I have a very similar background and feel the same rarely sleeping well the day before I have a public speaking commitment.

My boss actually sneaked one event on me recently with me not knowing I was on stage until my name came up (1st) on the agenda!

IME it helps to rationalise what you are fearfull of and the real likely hood it it happening.

So if youve spoken before and it all went well why would you expect anything different this time?

Its a great feeling afterwards when it goes well!!

We havent set foot on the moon for 40 years, still have to start fights in the middle east to make our cars go(which also do not fly as promised) and our food is shite.

But we are great at social media analysis..briliant, hope thats broke a few rules which I CBA reading.

Im afraid some bad examples of large scale police corruptions like Hillsborough and personal experience of corruption several years ago and knowing a few now who joined because they were either desperate for authority or simply wanted easy access to vulnerable women has left me very cynical about the plod.

I would be more likely to trust the average person in the street than a copper, which is a bit sad.

Sagrada never did it for me, not a patch on the English or French catherdrals, unless your into concrete shutter work.

Temple De Sagrat Cor on Tibado mountain would be my recommendation.

Its got it all vernacular railway, neverending staircases , then a strange little lift operated by a monk type person who looks like St. Peter to me.

As a reward you get the best views of Barcelona from a viewing point completing unhindered by health and safety..brilliant.

Second spot is the Beach although maybe not this time of year, third Tapas in the gothic area.

The frustrated dads are getting a bit carried away, ” re read this” , ” remember that” .

Before you could make any kind of worthwhile judgement you would need to hear from the cyclist, until then the OP’s first line strongly indicates he hasn’t got a clue (sorry) what he’s on about.

    For that reason. I’m out.

    IanW
    Free Member

    Yes well done OP,

I for one am going straight out to get a helmet just in case a driver fails to see me whilst in the 70 mph lane, it’ll make all the difference I’m sure.

Btw if you couldn’t overtake because a land drover was in the second lane overtaking you, how was he affected sufficiently to get out and discuss the incident and didn’t you also feel like beating him senseless for speeding?

    IanW
    Free Member

Unless btwin have really weird sizing it’s not a 60 and looks more likely a 54 than 57 but either way it’s close enough to being the right size not to be effecting your av speed to much.

TBH is difficult to be constructive on the finer details if you can’t work out what size bike you’ve bought.

Just goes to show there will always be a place for good lbs.
