Yes, but you need a special polyester dye (fleece is polyester not polypropylene) and you need to dye it a darker colour than it currently is.

There have been some fairly liberal interpretations of good on here so far.

As bluebird said, you need to be competitive on at least an elite national level to qualify. IMO.

for 3 weeks take your bike.

Toulouse has its very own freeride park (just beside the periferique)and some nice looking dirt jumps (near the freeride park).

Half an hour south you have loads of riding around carcasonne. Stuff in the Ariage as well.

Can you run an alfine set up on a full suspension bike or does it have to be a hard tail?

The area round Font Romeau in the pyranees has plenty of stuff and is only 1 1/2hours from the beach and 1hour from andorra.

Southern alps, briancon downward is lovely (but maybe not cheap)

The Drome is probs quite cheap and has loads of excellent biking, likewise the massif centrale

I would deffo recommend the pyranees orientales, great riding all over (Prades and Tet Valley, Capacir/Cardagne. You have everything XC and bike parks/DH and waaay less busy than the alps.

On the way down you can stop over at La Lioran in the Auvergne and then the gorge du tarn.

I bought my lad a cnoc 16, its an ace little bike.

I think the important consideration is not whether the kid can ride a bigger bike, but if he/she is comfortable on it.My lad can ride a 20″ but he is stretched and there is no way he would do the stuff he does on the smaller one.

I think THE most important point made above is the one about both languages needing to be shown as valued. We spend loads of time reinforcing how “cool” it is to be bilingual. I know a lot of families who have not done this and have kids that are not interested in speaking both languages.

My wife is french and we were advised to speak French as much as possible in the early stages because the child would pick up english at nursery/school. We pretty much immersed him in French at home and left the english to his nursery. He became fluent in both pretty quickly. Now we speak both languages to him, with me speaking more English and the wife speaking more French.

1 – Full of stinky fat people wearing stained tracksuit bottoms.

2 – Full of chavs buying cheap beer

3 – Crap own brand food

4 – Just a crap shopping experience on the whole

As far as I am concerned, this pretty well describes ASDA

    Upper body exercises as above

Deadlifts, squats, hack squats, leg press etc for leg strength

How many you do depends on what you want, big reps to bulk up low reps bigger weight for strength

6 inches of snow forecast for Andorra this weekend for the world cup!

It might be an idea keeping away from the big mountains! The French side inland from Perpignan (Prades, Rodez and Isle sur Tet) has some great riding and you can find maps and GPS tracks on Ugawavtt.com

Over the border in France there are parks at les Angles + another just up the road I forget the name) and Font Romeau. I suspect these will also be closed as there has been a lot of snow this year.

There are a few centres listed on the FFC site (one near Gerona)

“I think it took about 3 weeks too for them to pay out for my wife’s written off car with the other guy holding his hands up”

It really pisses me off that the insurance system works so much better for motor claims.

Doubt if you will get any further joy with a specialist.

I was knocked off on Dec 1st last year, (broken bones, cracked ribs, trashed shoulder, and bike) the driver admitted liability and I have so far only seen some money for some damaged clothes (took longer than 3 months to get this even). This is with one of the specialists.

Best bet is buy a bike on credit and it sort out when the payment does eventually come through.

The insurers are buggers for dragging their feet.

One caveat about ugawavtt, the routes (in the south at least) seem to have loads of climbing (1000m + vertical)

As above, good area to live (apart from central Keighley) however if you have kids I would recommend Skipton because in general, Bradford secondary schools are very poor.

“no different than doing pulls ups at ground level, just a faith in grip”

Yeh, but the thing is that the guy is blatently very s*it at pull ups. He is struggling like mad on about 3 or 4. Lunatic!

Their disco biscuits are best for comedy value.

The german style bread is nice, as is their crianza rioja
