    Also look at the course
http://www.vitalmtb.com/videos/features/ONE-LAP-Evan-Turpen-Pro-GRT-Fontana-2013,20286/E-T,699 if you can make the rocks then the lightest bike standing is what you need. (IE anything that is not a DH bike)

The bottom bit looks well gnarly! 😆 😆 😆
Pretty impressive that Gwinn finished second riding a DH bike

Amazed to find out I am in the elite 😯 . The classification seems a bit weird tbh, just because I know a CEO, few professionals and own my house I am magically elevated from scumbag to prospective tory parlimentary candidate.

That kona looks built like a tank. Is it a smoke…can’t make out the text?

Shred 24. It’s a bit burly, but it rides fine and it’s never going to break. This is important considering previous bikes died painful deaths 1x sheared headtube, 1x destroyed wheels/fork/ drivetrain.

Not really that big, he could still chuck it about ok, just not as well as his 20″ at first. The 20″ was trashed thought so I didn’t really have many options. Fits him fine now.

    Allos, Haute Verdon
    Bubion, Sierra Navada
    Sospel/Peille, Alpes Maritime
    Vosges
    Cardagne, Pyranees Orientale

Been to Les Arcs but it doesnt make the top 5.
Never been to the Italian Riviera but I sure it would probably bump the Cardagne out somehow.

Rather than limit yourself to flat areas, take a bit of rope to hang round the handle bars and use it like a tagalong up any climbs he/she cant do themselves. I used to do this a lot, opens lots more opportunities, and it has the bonus that the child then gets to ride some fun descents.

I think the germans like finale as well so it shouldnt be too bad.

Nowt wrong with going off on your own, I spent a lot of last year travelling around France on my tod and I didnt feel lonely. A load of books and a laptop loaded with abelton kept me occupied in the evenings.

If you can get a train to St amand les eaux, it is about a 30/45 min walk to the arenberg section. Not sure it’s worth the hassle though.

Alternatively, run two in parallel. This seems to work quite well for some people, although when things go wrong the costs involved tend to be quite significant.

You could always just get rid and replace it with a newer model. The more up to date ones tend to be better looking, slimmer design and less hassle to operate.

Plenty of way marked trails, it’s an ffc centre. Enough for a week or so without guides.

In Andorra last summer, i got told off by a bike patrol guy for not encouraging my son to brake with one finger. He reckoned it was dangerous not to.

You double your journey time on the nationals, It sucks. I prefer to pay the tolls and get there quicker, even in a van. Also, on the autoroutes you are less likely to be robbed if you stop to sleep at a service station than if you just pull over on the side of the road.

One thing to keep in mind about travelling in france during the summer, never travel on a Saturday. It’s the day that gite rentals start and end and the holiday destination roads (a9, a7 etc) are always gridlocked. Red or black warning signs at the payage entrance means slow or stationary traffic on the autoroutes.

Googles algorithm probably blew up when you added policy to the end of the search. Maybe try snafu, fubar or “what did give remember about his days at eton this morning” instead!

what like we can in their country

Where is the best place for state sponsored mountain biking?

Alpes Maritime, Var, Pyranees Orientale, Malaga or St Remo? 🙂

The economic mess was caused by wealthy, greedy financiers, and it’s being paid for by the poor, the disabled and the young – who had nothing to do with causing it.

    Amen.

What is even more annoying is that it is these same people that are egging on the Tories to ” get a grip on the deficit”, while often remaining in their well paid jobs at the tax payers expense.

Definately need documents in France. I’ve been stopped quite a few times by the gendarmes to check my papers, also if you need to by spare car parts, they want to see your registration documents.

Indeed an excellent place, was there last March. Some good stuff around Peille as well.

then invest in a 16 inch race bike

From what age can they ride one of these?

an 18″ is said to be OK for 4-7, 16 should be suitable for a 3 yr old. Not anything like as cheap as the decathlon though!

My daughterson went from a HotrockCNOC 16 to a CNOC 16 and the difference it made to her his riding progress was massive.

I really dont get the Isla love on here, quite a lot of money for what is effectively a hybrid with funny geometry. FWIW my lad learnt to ride on one of the decathlon 12″ bikes, it was pretty cheap and heavy, but long and stable. For the money it was a pretty good starter bike and he had loads of fun riding down hills on it. At 3 you really dont need any more really. Unless of course your kid wants to continue to ride the Manchester bmx track, then invest in a 16 inch race bike and watch his skills progress exponentially

Edit, apparently they dont do a 12″ at Decathlon anymore but 14″

With a large sum of money you should be able to get your UK bank to transfer it at the commercial rate rather than the tourist one. I would have a word with them, at least for a comparison.

For smaller ammounts my dad used to use the commercial division of the company that has booths at airports (cant remember the name) he reckoned the rates and charges were pretty fair.

Collobrieres is good, gr from either south or north is fun. La garde freinet and bormes les mimosas also has stuff. The dh at St maxime is just off the d25, there is another at coglin somewhere.

Also, mont faron at Toulon has a cable car and some tracks. Foret de jenas at Toulon is an ace little play area.

Spent some time around that area last year. Had fun.

There is a site 1001santiers, that is specific to the area. The guy who runs it wrote the v topo guide.

Buy the v topo guide ( var). There is some really good riding in the Maure, just inland. Also a downhill at St maxime.

Hes Ace on BMX and Scooters down the parks,

Encourage this, buy him a jump/4x bike. Skills are learnt early, bimbling can come later.

Alternatively buy him one of these:

my son (now 9) has ridden an 18″ We the people arcade for the last few years, top bike if a bit expensive nowadays. It still fits well and is a much better size than the full 20″. They are long and not really manoeuvrable for young kids.

Unless of course you want a race bike, 20″ minis fit younger kids.

The Lapierre DH bike would be a good bet if its in good nick, its certainly good value. It would deffo be fun in Andorra and he could probably sell it on afterwards for not much depreciation.

You can get by on 130mm at Valnord but on the harder tracks 200mm is way better!
