I’ve been on 3 dates since joining eharmony. Two of the people I met were as dull as dishwater, just sent them a text after saying it was nice meeting them but we were not compatible and wished them well.

Both of those were for dinner, but the third one I was more weary so I just organised coffee. Anyway, a one hour coffee turned in to a 5 hour chat, 2 of which were sat in her car outside the train station she was dropping me off at.

I rode part of it. Started in dorking, rode the 4 Surrey hills, on to the downs like at cranliegh to shoreham, then across the downs too Brighton. 8 hours in total including snapping my chain 5 times 🙁

A good ride indeed! Perfect conditions except for the spitting rain in Brighton last night!

Excluding petrol, my car has cost me less then 10% of what I have spent on bikes this year.

And I’ve been on holiday for 6 months of the year so far. My colleuges hate me

Jamj, the stock engine in the previous rs6 is a Lamborghini v10. It hasn’t been modified!

The v8 was the previous more rounded version!

Could you possibly cc me in to the email, I’m a qualified civil engineer and after cycling across Africa I have decided that this is what I want to get in to.

I would email you but neither of your emails are in your profile.

    Many thanks

I know it’s double the amount you want to spend. However Sony have just bought out the Experia go, it’s waterproof bash proof, and tough. Looks smart, I’m looking at it sim only as my work phone on site. It is expensive though at £230

The only thing that bugs me is the cost of the replacement cassette. Everything else I can deal with, but a component that I seem to wear out in around 2000km (10spd xt) costing £350 is a bit hard to stomach.

I’m going to saalbach on the 16th of March.

Since its also 2013, I’ve booked two weeks over Christmas 2013 too, as the place gets booked up pretty well a year in advance

I’ll also be buying my first pair of shoes and skis + poles so I can take the weekend snow train before march

sorry pyro, just saw your post, so it is the mech that matters, and not the shifter, thats what i thought

More specifically, I’m looking at the dura ace bar end shifters,

    http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/components/gear-shifters/product/review-shimano-dura-ace-sl-bs79-bar-end-shifters-09-34678

so they should work with an 11-34 shadow xt rear mech

ok, one more question to do with the shifters. I want to run a 34-11 cassette, does it matter what shifter I buy whether it can cope with that range

The estate agent said it should sell for around £45k the max I’ll go to is £47k the money to do it up will come from my salary.

As for the project I’m working on, it’s a new road with is meant to revitalise the area where I am buying the flat.

Well there is a balcony to clean them on, but mostly I clean them with te dirt worker before I put them in my car. The stairs are inside my flat from the second floor to the top floor. I’ll put some pullies on the full height ceiling above the middle landing on the stairs. There is enough height for them to hang from the ceiling and still walk underneath.

No, I have £50k, which is enough to buy it and pay or the planned maintanence.

The money would only be sitting in the bank, so I might as well buy this, do it up, make some money whilst saving myself rent. I don’t really want a mortgage and this is similar to what I’m renting now.

And only for three year because I’m a civil engineer and this project only lasts for three years and then I move to the next one…..

    Ok

I went to see the flat this afternoon.

The Flat has been empty over a year, the lady who owned it died and it’s been on the market for a year because 3 people have come close to buying it and pulled out wasting time.

There is planned maintanence of the flat, £20000 in total, my share would be £5000. The service charge is as and when required rather the monthly, which suits me because I’ll spend this £5000 and then I won’t be keeping it more then three years so shouldn’t have anymore costs after this.

The road is a quite road close to the nearest train station.

The house wa very quite but I’ll check it out this evening for extra noise.

The whole flat would have to be stripped and redecorated, but it is quite a nice size. Also I’d want to fit gas central heating.

There are two things that worry me. The guy who owns the freehold wants owner tenants and no buy to let’s. Also it only has 73 years on the lease left. There is talk of him selling us the lease.

The flat is on the market for £57k

    I have offered £41.5k

Done up nicely it will be on the market for £70k

I have the money in the bank so there would be no mortgage.

I’m thinking it will need a new kitchen, bathroom, carpets and full decoration. Contractual wise what should I be looking for?

    Don’t bother, and don’t collect £200 either

Surely it’s down to the fact the service is needed but not much demand to make it cheap
