The mojo hd is very capable all day bike it an be built up into a 26lb trail ripper. Obviously I can recommend a nicolai owning 3 myself, strong, capable, peddles very well, expensive, though you can get the sizing perfect. The ac can be built around 26lbs too, and you won’t need to be worried about stregth.

I flew with ba to geneva, my bike bag was 36kg, and my main luggage was 28kg. Didn’t get charged an extra penny, though just had to ballance out the bags so they both weighed under 32kg. That was from heathrow t5 too.

Your right the 819 is an excellent rim, had a pair for 3 years and never went out of true. However, with an internal rim width of 19mm you struggle to run anything wider then 2.25 tubeless due to the tire rolling.

The flow is slightly lighter stronger and is wider, around 21mm and give tires much better profile

Unless you a t- totaler who lives in basic accommodation, no tv, no Internet, never eats or goes out and never buys anything that is not absolutely necessary then you can not comment on how I choose to spend my disposable income.

Zulu eleven, I’ll try that, cheers. They look excellent and are strong for their weight.

You have to specify a budget.

If it’s upto about £400 then really you have hope Huns on stans flow, 1850g for the pair and really strong. Other hubs are available but for the weight there is no stronger rim.

If your budget stretches to about 7/800 then you can look at factory wheels, mavic st/st. However I don’t like my deemax, issues with the freehub and the bearing preload continually comes loose to the extent I now carry the tool around with me. You have Easton haven wheels, around £600 strong and light for their strength 1650g or crank brothers iodine, I’ve had no issues with mine, except I’ve knocked one out of true but that was after two days uPligt downhill and I’m not the lightest! Strong and stiff but at 1800g not that light.

Then if you budget stretches more your into carbon. Easton haven carbons are going to be my next wheelset. Sxspensive yes, but the rims are stupidly strong and the warrantee really is no questions asked. This is more to do with trying to change people’s perspective of carbon rims on a mountain bike. Only 1500g too

Pretty much nationwide release at cineworld now, when I checked at the beginning of the week it wasn’t so they must have changed their minds about it.

messiah, tlr had the same issues with the ccdb and a tune from stendec worked wonders for it, the same as geetee….

it depends on what extra tft supply then a standard shop, if they tune it, and provide all the fittings then it would be worth it.

if they don’t then i wouldnt bother.

    cheers all.

stroke is not in the geometry section 😉

Unless I’m totally blind which could be the problem. 😳

Not much to add, my first two oreders were wrong, however, my last two were correct, however, I have a new one on order from a new shop so we shall see how that come out, though i’m not worried about it. Also, the one which was majorly wrong, was replaced foc.

Build quality is excellent, and at 22 stone, i don’t notice any flex, though i do have 12mm bolt through.

Currently running, bos stoy rear shock and bos deville front fork, though i’ve just ordered the air shock…

    @mike_d

Not enough difference in size/quality/features to bother upgrading over the 550d

    ianpinder
    Free Member

@ Rasta, that’s exactly whaat I was looking for…. through the links of someone else I found another called, buildaschool or something like that.

So the rough plan is raise about £20k doing the tour d’afrique and getting sponsored, (some people think this is optimistic, but oh well) and then get my company to double it, (they have already partially agreed) and then once I’ve raised enough money go and build a school in africa….

I think at least for a couple of years I’m not really going to notice a difference in the ‘quality’ between the 7d or the 600d ….. Now adays the budget lenses and budget bodies provide a much crisper and better picture then anything I’m used too.

I’m not going to stretch the legs of any camera, yes the 7d will be ‘electronically’ better then the 550d but i’m not going to notice it. Likewise, I’m not really going to notice the difference in the lenses yet, and here I very much agree with molgrips. I think its better to have a couple of lenses which cover a range, i.e. fast prime, wideangle, telephoto, then one really good lens. For now i probably wouldn’t notice the diffence in the picture quality, due to the glass etc, so it wouldn’t really bother me to sacrifice a lens to allow me to buy the more comfy camera to use.

All the canons I’ve looked at all have hd video, basically it comes down to if I find using the 7d much easier/comfortable due to size / quality construction / weather protection. These physical features make a better upgrade over an extra year waiting for another lens.

And if I buy the smaller bodied 550d is it going to annoy me!!

    @ DS

Still learning the art of photography, and not sure that i have the eye for brilliant photos.

    @ 5th

Lack of video is a major issue….

    ianpinder

    I don’t have any existing lenses…….

I’d be looking for a good prime, a wide angle, prob the canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
and a cheap second hand telephoto

    ianpinder

It would mean sacrificing a lens in order to buy it…. usually people say the other way around, sacrifice a model upgrade to pay for a lens upgrade, but feel that the size of the 7d is more suited to myself aspecially with the large telescopic lenses bolted onto the front.

Also i think the better autofocusing system would be of benifit when filming.

The 7d is a much better camera then I deserve at the minute

Thats why i’m going o buy the carbon ones, much more subtle
