Well I’m going back to my last job, it was a risk leaving it because all the people who worked there were really nice, however I wanted to live in another part of the country. Yesterday they rang me up with an offer that I couldn’t say no too….

At least they won’t be able to hear what I’m saying over their screams of pain

You should have stopped your list at Hilleberg, maybe the best tents ever. Certainly fill the expensive criteria.

I pitched mine 120 times and still looks like new, all be it a tad dirty.

I’ve just moved to southfields, great links on to the a3 for getting to Surrey hills, close to Richmond for the park and what not, and rents are not too expensive.

Just gone from a Honda 4×4 to an Accord Estate and the Accord is better in every way. Pig ugly though.

I moved out of Eastbourne to London a month ago because I couldn’t settle in Eastbourne. Turned down a counter offer by the company for me to stay but I just couldn’t bear to live there anymore

Because I was pretty sure of getting the lwb version but looking second hand they are much rarer! Still might get the lwb because it provides more options in the future.

Those with swb kombis, can you get a bike in the back without taking it apart? Or do you need the lwb?

It is the best way, I graduated, as you know in Civil Engineering, not mechanical engineering, I joined the graduate training scheme for in Balfour Beatty which I then completed, and then quit to cycle across Africa.

When I got back from travelling I found it easy to pick up another role, either contracting, or salaried, because I had that experience with BB.

As others have said, if you are still classed as a graduate you might find it very hard because you don’t have enough experience and companies will be looking to recruite these roles on their own graduate programs.

The only thing keeping you at a company after a couple of years is, like you said, your fear of quitting and the unknown. I wouldn’t have pegged you down as a guy who is affraid of getting comfortable.

I play, got in to gb youth, but stopped playing gb when I went to uni. Played uni American football, won the cup in my final year. I didn’t play last season because I was in Africa, but going to start next season for one of the London teams probably. I played nose tackle

Having completed 12000km across Africa, my king bb was faultless, don’t know if I had the ceramic bearings or not I bought it so long ago, I think, knowing me, it probably does.

I would go for avid bb7 with 200mm rotors, I used them with 160mm rotors and even on the long descents they were fine, and before you say they are for a tandem I started the trip at 165kg.

Tent, do you want space, I would use a hilleberg tent. I used the stiaka (bit small for two) and it still looks new (ish) despite pitching it 120 times through the dessert.

Yup, got a week booked in saalbach, 7 days planned up in scotland, then another week that is booked off from work, but we have not booked anything yet to see where the snow is… I’ve also booked 2 weeks over christmas and new year 13/14 due to this hotel booking up well in advance.

hopefully i will try and get some weekends in scotland too in addition to the week planned already

I’ll check out those shops in London… I’m kinda running out of time already as I’m assuming they will need to order them in…
