Bonuses are just as viable as an incentive in a recession as they are in a boom.
Given the lack of jobs in the finiance industry at the moment, I’d have thought keeping your job would work as a useful incentive to perform well.
Anyway aren’t there two seperate questions here.
Is it ok to pay people bonuses?
Is it ok to use public money to pay bonuses to failed institutions?

I’m not talking who’s to blame just by not wearing one you have to accept the increased risk of injury.

Though how you ride rather than what you wear has a far greater increase on your risk of injury, but is far harder to quantify.

Helmets should be compulsorary (cant spell), i dont need a statistic to tell me they’ll save my life, surely everyone with any common sense can see they’r a good thing.

So explain why the western countries with the lowest percentage of helmet wearing also have the lowest level of cycling injuries.
Or is the same common sense that says there’s a 50/50 chance of a second child being boy? :)

My gut reaction in these sort of cases is just kill the person – they’re a waste of space and the world would be a better place without them. But a good society isn’t built on such sentiments, so i’ve no idea whether 21 months is lenient on excesive.

I’m not too sure where the ‘common sense’ comes in. If you work on your premise that wearing a helmet is safer than not wearing one, then you’d expect to see injury rates proportionally lower in pro-helmet countries such as the USA and UK than anti-helmet countries such as most of mainland Europe.
But you don’t, you find the opposite.

Me to!. Just got emailed saying don’t come in unless you can do the journey safely. Anyone who’s seen me ride can tell you I can’t do it safely at the best of times :)
