They are pretty narrow. The upper is flexible though, but don’t buy it if you want a big roomy forefoot area.
Some people cut out bits of the upper to make extra space – similar to this –

Isn’t the BMW snow problem a combination of wide lo profile tyres and RWD, rather than RWD per se?

Are there any apps or better options?

Probably. The problem is deciding *exactly* what you want the device to do, as all of them different strengths and weaknesses. Dcrainmaker has a pretty comprehensive comparison chart somewhere on his site.

I use em, but not exclusively. The uppers are pretty small. My normal shoe size is 45, but I take 47 in Hoka Stinsons, and even then it’s a bit snug round the little toe.

I’ve posted the same on Bike Radar which Trevor does surf sometimes. Legolam, can I ask what workout you were doing? I seem to me fine under indicated FTP, but struggling over it – wondering if thats in common with you?

Have you checked that the speed is still the same?
I.e If you download the data and upload into strava it will show you the speed your going at. If you compare an old test to one of your latest tests and find the power is the same, but the speed has gone up, then that would indicate something has gone wrong with the power calculations.

Seems like a perfectly reasonable crime prevention measure – particularly if you’re a staff member or customer that doesn’t want to be at the working end of a firearm.

Yes, because if I had both a firearm and a motorbike helmet, seeing a sign at the entrance to a shop I was going to rob, telling me to remove my helmet would definitely stop me.

Removing a motorbike helmet is a minor inconvenience, rather than against deeply held beliefs.

What if your deeply held belief is that all people should be treated equally?

“People often think diets are about willpower,” says Jebb. “Forget that, diets are about habits. There has never been a study that says people can will themselves to lose weight, but they can change their habits.”

Viz of course was ahead of the curve in defining what these habits are.

You clean the bathroom once a week? What kind of madness is this, are you stuck for something to do?

Exactly. I mean why would we have the term “Spring clean” other than to indicate when the house work should be done.

No idea if they work for biking, but drymax socks have been a revelation from the point of view of running through mud and standing water.
All the ptfe in them means that although they get wet, the majority of water gets expelled pretty much instantly. Far warmer and dryer than sealskins in my experience.

Were you wearing thin sealskinz with nothing underneath? That’s useless in winter, they’re designed to have no warmth so you can wear them year round…

I’d agree that they are useless in winter, but the manufacturers don’t believe they’re are designed that way –

As I see it, this position is untenable. We are now in a situation where the headmistress of the school is shown to take the side of the person who abuses their position of trust even when faced with a guilty verdict delivered by the court.

To slightly complicate matters the verdict of a court doesn’t determine if someone has or hasn’t done something (as many guilty people who have got off, and innocent people who have been convicted can attest)

So to turn the moral dilemma round, if your wife had been found guilty by a court, but you believed that she hadn’t committed the crime that she had been accused of, what would you do?

What scared me most about this that the bloke is/was allegedly a stockbroker. Given the quality of the rest of his tweets the mind boggles.

/Edit Ah, I see the BBC are saying works for a stockbroker unlike the newspapers.

I’ve noticed that ‘1’s sound subtly better than ‘0’s on my audio playback rig, though others have noticed the opposite.
I’m developing Bit Bias Technology to change the proportion of ‘1’s to ‘0’s in the output data stream, but I’m having trouble with funding. Would kickstarter be worth considering?

If you ride to the shops 2 miles away three times a week without a helmet that’s 26 miles a month, the equivalent of one MTB ride

Equivalent distance, not equivalent risk. I’ve now idea which is of the lower risk, but you can’t draw risk conclusions based on differing journeys (well you can, but they’ll be wrong esp with low risk activities such as cycling)

He’s right it is very difficult in poor visibility, and a GPS is a great help, but not as much as you might wish for if you’re relying on it to guide you down the appropriate gully off a mountain ridge.

In answer to your question, the idea is that you shouldn’t really be using a map to find your location in poor visibility, you should already know it.

Yeah but at least you didn’t break your neck with the extra rotational force a helmet would have caused.

I smiled when I read this yesterday –
“Giro and Bell have both launched new helmet models featuring MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) technologies designed to reduce rotational impact energy”

Whilst many trails/dirt jumps are maintained by volunteers who get **** off with winter only mtbers/carbon riding lycra clad audi driving **** wrecking their jumps/berms and not lending a hand to fix them.

I tend to mostly ride existing rights of way, which have for the most part been finely sculptured by horses hooves.
Besides, any decent enduro bike doesn’t need a groomed trail in the first place.

From what I can see the majority of people that ride bikes wouldn’t even consider getting a shovel or hoe and going out on foot to repair or build trails. Am I wrong? Why is this?

No idea, but I can’t recollect the last time I saw a car driver filling a pot-hole or clearing a drainage ditch either.

Yunki, I think your plan of action is great. Unfortunately I’m a sucker for advertising, so I can’t think of any budget shoes to recommend.

You might try the Nike Flex range

Never tried em, but they probably fit with the chi-running viewpoint.

When they bought the TV rights, you wonder if they snuck something in the small print saying they had the right to show it one gazillion times a year.

I get my fair share of colds etc, but I can think of only once when I had something that was probably flu.
