Picked them up riding in grizedale, well we got a bit lost and ended up following deer trails, so kind of the worst place for it really. Some pretty good single track though just non of it linked up to anything so there was a fair bit of pushing through bracken which at this time of years asking for it.

Ho Hum lets just hope I'm being paranoid hey

really depends on where you are staying, wouldn't recommend the north face on its own but can be really good for linking together the bridle ways with in the forest.

Second Crazy-legs suggestion of asking at biketreks or if your up Keswick way KMB, you can't beat a bit of local knowledge.

The route that you are suggesting is testing to say the least but all depends on what your looking for really and where your based.

" The glossy bitch " its a zesty and was named after a shrew covered in kitkat wrappers used to storm the African savannah. Plus my mates told me it was a tarty bike and its definitely a she as previously mentioned because its French.

    Hey,

Similar experiences with the headset and Bottom bracket bearings on my Zesty replaced the head set one's which had rusted to pieces with normal Cane creek ones and they have been fine for ages. The bottom bracket does get stiff if the bike is stood for any length of time but seems to sort its self out after a few turns of the cranks. I have started to put some grease around the seals but that's more to make me feel like I'm doing some thing about it.

I am by no means an expert on this but can offer my own experiences.

For over two years I rode in only wind-proofs a Montane tiny wind-proof and in the colder weather a Paramo wind-proof, both of these were reproofed regularly to maintain there water repelantcy. In the warmish weather they were both fine when wet as the massively reduced wind chill and as long as you continued to work do a great job of keeping you warm BUT you will get wet in them.I never had a problem with this until one night ride it snowed heavily and then when I got lower down started to rain I got cold first because it became hard to ride and I was no longer generating a lot of heat and then got very very very wet and very very cold. After this I bought an event shell jacket which I have put a few holes in and repaired with patches. It has been great is super tough and much warmer in cold weather than the Paramo wind proof. It wasn't cheap but will be repaired properly by Endura very soon.

Sorry for the ramble hope there is some sense in there sam

Another bought of praise for the 'down your local' bit made me go off exploring last night on the way home from work and find loads of really steep wooden steps………………………which I had to carry the bike up! this does mean that next time I can try them the other way round though.

Cheers guys for the Mag really enjoy it and also enjoy reading the posts from all the haters, it makes my working day a little more interesting

    oh thats sweet.

Know exactly what you mean though when I got the Zesty it lived in the dining room for ages just so I could have a look at it all the time plus it was cleaned after every ride, I even polished it once or twice.

It'll look better once its had a bit of off road love any how.

    no probs,

I went flying past it on Saturday and then was followed by the rest of the group.

Rangers starts on the opposite side of the railway from the summit cairn staircase thingy. you can make out the trail easily on the ground, be warned though it was busy this weekend so could be very busy next.

    enjoy

Mr mills, rode this route at the weekend.

Its a bridle way it is marked….just there a re two planks of wood in the ground and a small marker post and is really easy to miss. it was about 100-200 meters after the second gate at the bottom of the massive techy ranger decent half way down the section with all the slate water bars.

was after elbow not knee any how so shouldn't be a problem.

looks like they could be the ones then, they are going to be used very rarely but it can be reassuring just to know the option is there. Be prepared and all that.

    AGH mate that sucks,

Probably no help at all but I was looking at a ragley MMbop a few weeks ago and I want one. Think they size up pretty large, not sure if its easy to single speed and it may not be super practical.

    but there you go,

    Happy shopping

    Simon,

agree with all of the above but unlike yourself my bike is also something I bought as a desire object, much to the detriment of my friends. having had a rather unstable work life this has been the first time I have been able to treat my self so I spent my money on a pretty bike, my friend was there at the time as well. It wasn't an easy thing for me to do and I think he's just showing concern about the sanity of buying something that as well as functional was pretty and then trying to trash it

Make any sense?? not sure, but laughed at his email this morning
