i would say top tube length is extremely important as it’s the main thing that determines fit, as well as the frame shape determined by tt

Should the top tube be a little short i image changing the bars would shortening things a bit, as you can get some pretty big bars these days (as well as rotating them a little)

    i really like these.

    like

change from £30 a pair – just look at the reviews

There’s absolutely nothing I’ve found that they are not good on. IMHO

    I love High rollers too.

i should imagine without one, your brains going to get shaken / knocked to a much greater degree which cannot be good.

thing is he states that he’s only been knocked off once. If he’d hit his head on tarmac without a lid and then with one, I feel he may take a different view. But yes, I understand the basis that injuries will still be likely in some circumstances.

IMHO – that oem flyer looks more like a bmx race bike type bike rather than a park bike, and thus isn’t likely to be as strong or as much fun. They look like fun cruiser type bikes really.( i recon anyway )

    The DMR looks strong.

Just get a 20inch bmx with a long top tube if you tall. Will be much more fun at a skatepark, or a strong park / street type 24 inch bmx( if you can get them?)or jump bike .BMX Tyres will last ages anyway indoors, and even is your riding offroad a bit then tyres are easy to come by.

Generally – if you see a bmx with just a rear v brake – then it’s for racing or cruising around on – and not much else. ( Like that skyway bike ) Some decent dirt jump mtbs have a just a v brake though which is fine. A rigid basic dirt jump bike would be ideal if 20 inch is not your thing ( this could well have a v brake which is fine )

24 inch dj could be good for indoor parks. That’s what i’d prolly go for, if i’d decided against a 20 inch bmx.

    like this

    or this

seen one in a museum. They’ve got that lovely 1980’s square / angular look and are super low. Chassis and suspension based on Lotus designs.Body panels were not structural. Built in Ireland. Yes they have been re-assembled from 80% old stock and then some new parts. everything you need to know

fair play to him. Had a pair of dodgey early batch brake pads ages and ages ago, ( which to be fair I didn’t do anything about ). More recently got some braided hoses and they have been brilliant. Second to that the pricing was also superb, when compared to anything else out there.

thanks. Mine has been great for many years so not too bad. Garry.. you may have tried this but there’s a slotted nut at the bottom. This may have come undone in your case.

    Thanks all much appreciated.

when working out protein intake, use guides on protein after the particular activity your undertaking rather than just general information ‘for the average adult so many grams per day etc’. The recommendations on the label or often stated are also likely to be for body building purposes which imho may be more than required for cycling. So the question is then, is it worth using for recovery from cycling. I would say sometimes – yes ( imho )

don’t worry there’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just as with carbs etc, I suspect eating a lot more than your body requires may add fat, just like anything else really…

protein shakes are also very useful for getting some good recovery food within half an hour or say an hour of finishing a long ride or say an event or big day out, where you may not eat something decent until much later when you get home otherwise.

The packaging usually states how many scoops too use. Or just roughly work out how much per per kg of body weight etc too use etc from an online guide and the label.

you can mix it with pretty much anything. I make smoothies with carrots and fruit added. Do not go to mad with it though in one portion as it can be pretty strong stuff – in terms of protein amounts. I like the basic stuff.

she may just be sensitive to disagreement and may take offense at it, as she may feel threatened / criticised?? Maybe reassure her that her opinion is valued / respected and just as valid as yours, although maybe you both can agree to disagree sometimes and find interest in your sometimes different views.
